"Overall a good flight"

Trip Verified | I traveled from Boston to Houston on United Airlines in basic economy. I was originally routed through Chicago but when I found out my flight was waiting an aircraft I asked the customer desk to look into the matter. They changed my flight giving me a direct flight to Houston. The flight was uneventful and arrived 20 minutes before scheduled arrival time. I originally had three seats but the steward told me to vacant the third seat for a man who I suspect was a United employee. Overall a good flight.

"So unhappy with United!"

Trip Verified | So unhappy with United! On our way to Las Vegas our flight was delayed 3 hours which made it impossible to get our flight mid way, so we had to get a flight 6 hours after which means we ended up being in an airport for 12+ hours. Not only this but we didn’t even receive a notification that it was delayed so we couldn’t even go back home or do anything but just sit. Then they refused to let us sit together, on any of our flights, luckily there was one person who offered to switch seats. They acted like because we paid for the cheaper seats that’s how we were gonna be treated. We couldn’t even take a carry on with our flight it was just ridiculous. We flew Delta a little less than a year before this and paid for the same type of ticket and when we asked if we could sit next to each other they said no problem at all and allowed us to have a carry on. United also overbooked our flight by 5 people, I don’t understand how do you overbook? Plus when we got our flight we had to PAY to watch anything on their little TVs, where in Delta it’s paid for. I don’t get any of this. Just doesn’t make sense to me! Just not happy with them at all. We will never again fly United.

"I will never fly United again"

Trip Verified | Cancún to Nashville via Chicago. United airlines is terrible. They postponed our flight twice in Cancun then promised we should still make our flight in Chicago to Nashville. We arrive in Chicago and the gate changed 5 different and kept getting postponed from 7:30p.m and finally gets cancelled at 12:00am, after spending 3 hrs in customer service line we get told the only flight out is 24hrs later and there are no accommodations. I will never fly United again. I would never suggest united airlines to anyone.

Trip Verified | Are you joking United? On my flight TO EWR from SEA, I had a 3 hour delay. Now on my flight from EWR to SEA, there’s a 25 min delay which turns into a 1 hour delay, which turns into a last minute gate change far away (just getting out of physical therapy mind you) which turns into another gate change back to original gate after I had made my way over to the new one and everyone is now still waiting in line with the aircraft yet to be seen. What are you guys doing? This is 2018 - learn about customer service - would’ve thought you should have learnt from all your mistakes in this area by now with all the lawsuits and bad press. Never flying United again, back to Alaska for me. Horrible experience.

"non-existent customer service"

Trip Verified | Fort Lauderdale to Salt Lake City via Denver. Did somebody shrink the size of the international carry on size? Or is it just United Airlines? Wouldn't let us bring our carry on as it didn't fit in their sample carry on box. It fit in Southwest's just fine. Non-existent customer service. We were not rude, just asked why it was small compared the other airlines. Not even about the 25$. Just tired of dealing with people trying to nickle and dime. Thought for a minute I was dealing with dish network or comcast. I always regret not flying with tried and true Southwest!

"lacks in a few places"

Trip Verified | Heathrow terminal 2 was pleasant enough and boarding started on time. The plane is old and lacks in a few places: built in screen was tiny and showed movies on a loop. The irony is they ask you to use your own device but don't provide any power. I could not get the app to work, I didn't try to find a flight attendant because I had a book. Seat was 25K in the extra legroom and they made it clear you could not just move into this section. I'd rather fly a 2-3-2 layout 767 than a 3-3-3 787. It's such as shame that the modern aircraft are so horrendously tight so you have a choice of space but old IFE/no power or IFE/power but really narrow seats. The legroom was not spectacular given the $140 cost. Food was poor. Chicken or pasta. I had the chicken and the liquid tasted like stewed tea. Didn't finish it and could see others left it. Snack before landing was much nicer. This was a very expensive ticket due to my particular needs for a specific day / route for work so I understand but it is still galling to know I surely paid more than a few of the business class passengers to sit back here.

"flight crew was great"

Trip Verified | I had the smoothest and the most comfortable ride on my flight back to Denver from Dallas. The flight crew was great. The only problem I had was at security at DFW. The United ticket agent cleared my under seat carry on. The power trip lady made get out of line and go back to the agent that cleared me when my under the seat carry on fitted on the check your baggage size. This cost me another 20 minutes in going back through a line that I had been in just for someone to say ok. This would be the only reason I would not fly United anymore. The power trip lady would cause me not to travel with them anymore. I understand security by all means protect me and my fellow Americans but a bag. For real.

Trip Verified | San Francisco to Chicago. If you fly United you better get used to delays. Worst airline service ever. I fly almost every week, mostly of the time by United, but thinking seriously about a change to Delta.

"going above and beyond"

Trip Verified | London Heathrow to San Francisco. Our flight from London Heathrow to SFO, was a wonderful non eventful flight, except for the service! The staff and flight attendants were above par and the main flight attendant on our flight went above and beyond! He made sure not only we’re we satisfied on the flight, but I heard several passengers on the flight comment on how well he took care of them. Actually, all the flight crew members on our flight were so delightful and made our trip back to the States a joyous experience! Cheers to all of the United Crew for going above and beyond to make our travel experience so delightful! We will definitely fly International anytime with United! 5 Star Experience does not go unnoticed!

"unbelievably incompetent"

Trip Verified | Houston to London via Newark. This airline is unbelievably incompetent. I scheduled a flight from Houston to London to attend my mother’s wedding and it was canceled, delayed, then canceled again. I now have to buy $7k worth of British Airways flights so I can arrive on time and attend her wedding. After going to customer service for a refund they stated I’m Not eligible for a refund and told me good luck. I will never fly with United again. If you want to spend a few grand and a few days stuck in an airport, choose United!
