"much improved experience"

(United States)

Flew by Delta after a really long time. The aircraft used between SEA and Atlanta looked very new with video monitors for every seat and the mood lighting was very refreshing. The crew also greeted everyone pleasantly with a smile. All in all a much improved experience.

"attendants very courteous "

(United States)

Flights on time, attendants very courteous and helpful. In Columbus I explained to the Delta clerk that I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery and could I get a wheelchair in Atlanta to make my connecting flight. When I arrived I was met by a very friendly lady who zipped me thru the airport to my connecting flight. I would not have made it without her. I received the same service on the way back home. All luggage on time as well.

"Delta service is horrific"

(United States)

Security wait times in Atlanta were 1 hour (October 3). Priority lines were empty and instead of expediting passengers with tight times, everyone was left to work through the full line. Missed flight by 1 minute, and rather than rebook me on next flight they sent me to other side of airport to get on standby. More bad service (no ability to tell me number on standby). I took another train to new flight only to find I was #4 on a full flight. Next available would be three hours later. I left and went to Southwest and bought next flight out which left 20 minutes after the standby flight. Delta service is horrific all the way through starting with gate agents, security staff (not TSA but delta gate staff - one of whom argued with me for 5 minutes on the difference between priority boarding and first. Had they been clearer maybe I would have made flight). Legroom is non existant. People not helpful. Last last last last time I ever fly this awful airline.

"the worst travel experience"

(United States)

This was hands down the worst travel experience in my life. Apparently the Delta Air Lines flight out of Florence was cancelled to due wind. Delta (and their partner KLM) had my flight bussed to the Pisa airport, (with no explanation, the pilot on the next flight explained). There we were told that we'd be dropped off at our plane that was "waiting" and no worries about our connecting flights in Amsterdam. There was no plane waiting in Pisa. We were dropped off with no direction in the Pisa airport parking lot, we had to go back through security and stand in lines trying to figure out which flight we were suppose to take. By the time we made it to Amsterdam the connecting flights were long gone. The KLM/Delta service people, were rude and unhelpful. They would tell us to get in a specific line, where'd we'd wait for over an hour, then they tell us to go to a different part of the airport and get in a different line. The connecting flights that were missed for some reason could not be rebooked at the airport and we were told we had to call Delta ourselves and reschedule. To which, after two attempts at 1.5 hours each spent on hold I was finally able to rebook my flight at an international calling rate of $2 an hour, so I spent over $400 just to rebook the flight. That doesn't include the rest of the costs I incurred at my two days at the airport. And of course they lost my luggage. And of course they don't care. I just keep getting transferred over to different "customer service lines" where I have to wait on hold and then repeat everything. So I still don't know where my luggage is and I have a new customer service number that I need to call tomorrow. I hate Delta and KLM and I will try to avoid these airlines if at all possible in the future.

"by far the worst service"

(United States)

This is by far the worst service and flying experience and I will never fly Delta Air Lines again. The baggage clerks are rude. When I made my flight reservation I said I need an aisle or window seat and the phone clerk said there is plenty of seats. Come to find when I check in it won't let me change my seats and no one can seem to help me. On top of all that I had to pay 235$ for my two bags. My advice to anyone thinking about booking with Delta is not to - Southwest are cheaper and all around more comfortable and easier to fly.

"last time I fly Delta Air Lines"

(United States)

We were held up in Nashville for an hour and we were forced to miss our connecting Delta Air Lines flight to Phoenix. On board the flight attendant assured us that the company would put us upon a hotel for the night. They didn't and they would pay for it either. First and last time I fly Delta Air Lines.

"lack of care their workers showed"

(United States)

I have flown Delta thinking that they were the best. Until my flight from LAX to SLC was rerouted to Grand Junction where we sat on the tarmac for 3 hours. I know they cannot help weather, which is not what upsets me. It is that once I finally landed in SLC my next flight to Billings had just taken off. Again, I know not something they can help. At this point everything for the next 24 hours was booked, there wasn't even a hotel they could get me in for the night. Again, not something that they can control. So I rented a car and drove through the night on my own accord and expense. The complaint is that when I went to get the ticket refunded I called customer service before even leaving the airport while the flight to Billings was in the air and they insisted that I needed to wait until I completed my flight back to Honolulu before anything could be done. So 2 weeks later, I get back and make a call. Somehow it says that I flew the flight. Every person I called said that they couldn't do anything and gave me another number to call or sent me to the airport. It took me another 2 weeks of calling everyday to find someone who had any idea and knowledge on what to do. I have people telling me to go to the airport and others saying there was no need to go to the airport and they were sorry I was sent there. Well the person who knew what they were talking about, sent me back to the airport and told me who to talk to. I had to get a letter from the airport stating that I didn't fly on that flight. Now, almost a month after getting that paper and 2 months after not getting on that flight, I finally get an email saying it is up for review, but I need a letter from my bank stating that it is okay to give a cash refund. I am so sick and tired of the terrible customer service and the lack of care that 99% of their workers showed. Being that I live in Hawaii, I am 6 hours behind their time, I have had to get up early on my days off just to make sure that I can get through to speak with anyone. I even had a lady say to stay up and call when they open. Oh yes, I am going to stay up till 2am my time to only be frustrated to now end so that I can sleep for 2 more hours and get up to watch children. That sounds like such a grand idea.

"very helpful and professional"

(United States)

I visited my daughter in June and the Delta Air Lines crew were very helpful and professional. I had recently had unexpected surgery earlier in the week and was having so much pain, I called and asked if I could have my flight moved up so I could go home earlier. After I gave them the information to prove my situation they were incredibly kind, and helped me move up the date. I again recently called them because I had purchased tickets for some family members and these had to be changed, and again were kind and refunded my tickets. They went above and beyond and I am very grateful for their kindness.

"much better than Virgin Atlantic"

(United Kingdom)

After booking return flights from London to New York with Virgin Atlantic, I was informed that the outward leg of our journey was a Delta Air Lines codeshare flight. I had heard bad things about Delta but my flight with them was extremely pleasant. Food service was extremely prompt, despite sitting near the back of the plane, and the attendants were helpful. Large bottles of water were handed out regularly. As a nurse I was glad to see that they had taken their passenger's health and hydration to heart. It was a much better experience than the Virgin Atlantic flight on the return journey, where I was hungry and thirsty for much of the flight, and the entertainment system crashed multiple times!

"every flight has been very delayed"

(United States)

We spent $3,000 on these Delta Air Lines tickets and every flight has been very delayed. One of the delayed flights coming home made us miss our connecting flight and the service person told us it was not their fault (air traffic fault), and told us there was nothing they could do. We finally get booked for another flight 24 hours later after not having our luggage and having to buy a hotel, food, clothes, miss work to now find out they have a broken plane. We have been trying to get home now for almost 3 days. We travel all the time and have never experienced such a terrible travel experience and will never give this airline a penny every again.
