"children to sit separately from me"

I booked my Delta Air Lines flight in July for myself and my three children. I was just informed that it wasn't possible to book our seats together. Why in the world would I want my three young children to sit separately from me next to people I don't know. When I booked for one adult and three children it should be clear that they will need to sit by their parent. My gosh! One son is slated about 20 rows ahead of the remaining three of us.

"most unorganized flight"

Atlanta to Newark. I usuallly do not have any complaints about Delta. However, our flight from ATL to EWR was delayed due to weather. Fine. Then we had to wait for the flight attendants to arrive before we could even board. So instead of boarding at 9:41pm we had to wait even longer before we could even board. It is ridiculous that we were unaware of when we would arrive to our destination. Many people had children and it's insane that we will be arriving past midnight. The most unorganized flight I've been on. I won't be going to Delta anytime soon.

"I have received no response"

We have flown Delta on numerous occasions as we have a house and business in US. Our honest opinion is that in general we use Delta because we prefer to fly from our local airport, and this is a service supplied in conjunction with Air France and KLM via Paris / Amsterdam. Overall, the service is poor. We have found cabin staff mostly friendly and helpful, though not always. Food is usually ok but I am afraid that on numerous flights pre booked months in advance, my family are seated in different parts of the plane, most unacceptable particularly dissappointing when you have booked a family holiday months in advance. When challenging them about this we get nowhere. The last flight we checked in online and received a telephone call to say all was ok but when we were checking our luggage in on the return journey we were told at check in 'oh this flight goes tomorrow evening'! Now after much arguing and apologies we were put on a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt but 35 hours door to door from US to UK is totally unacceptable. This experience on numerous occasions has made us reconsider. The flight experience is far too much hassle for a family and I have to say I am relieved we do not have to endure this ever again. I have complained to the airline on a number of occasions but as yet I have received no response. In my opinion Delta are a letdown to the whole ethos of customer service and care in the US and I will certainly not contemplate using their services again.

"airport experience very nice"

Tokyo Narita to Singapore, and the Narita airport experience is very nice. Ground staff friendly and helpful. While waiting for boarding Delta has an area for economy class passengers in Narita Airport. I've found it very relaxing and comfortable because they do have a reclining chair which where you could take a nap (but just be mindful of your boarding time). Boarding was smooth, and onboard the flight attendants are very nice, especially the Japanese crews. The only regret on my experience is that the IFE is poor - they have limited movies to watch. Also, the blankets aren't really comfortable. But the meals are okay, and waiting for the baggage was quick on arrival.

"random act of kindness"

My daughter and I checked in online and were set to use our phones as our boarding passes. My daughter, for some reason didn't receive her text message. As we were discussing this, the curbside baggage check attendant, overheard us and told us not to worry, he's got us covered. Once he took our bags, he produced both of our boarding passes printed out. Since my phone died shortly after that, it really came in handy! Thank you so much for your outgoing, random act of thoughtful kindness! The Wifi was another issue - I paid for it, but never was able to get on.

"attendants very polite and efficient"

Delta Air Lines from Atlanta to Jacksonville. Flights in and outbound same day, DL 1258 and 1616. Both were MD-90's. The flights were fast. In the first case, I landed earlier than the scheduled landing time. On return, while we had to wait about 20 minutes to take off (for whatever reason), we still landed early. The only downside on the outbound flight was that the flight was so quick that beverage service couldn't be completed. Both flights were completely filled. However, by getting to the airport early for the return flight, I was able to get moved from a center seat to a window seat further up in coach class. The flight attendants were very polite and efficient.

"horrible customer service"

Honolulu to Salt Lake City via Seattle. Delta changed my flight at the last minute and put my wife towards the back of the plane with me and my two children under 4 years old near the front. We called and asked if they could put us together so we could help each other keep the kids calm, since we had bought tickets with four seats right next to each other. They were very rude and basically said deal with it. Delta Air Lines have horrible customer service and could care less about anyone on the plane since everyone had to deal with my kids crying for their mother or their father when we switched seats.

"missed my connection flight"

Tuesday morning I departed from HOU to travel home (STL) for a family emergency. I understand delays due to weather but my flight from STL to ATL did not depart on time. The flight staff did not inform us of any difficulties therefore I do not feel my time was being valued. I arrive in ATL later than scheduled and the airline did not feel the need to give them notice that I was on the flight and that I had a connecting flight and unfortunately missed my connection flight home. Due to this, I was unable to make it to work Wednesday night and accumulated another days' expenses from on site parking, Delta only felt the need to give me a limited $50 gift card.

New York JFK to Amsterdam with Delta Air Lines. A medical emergency forced me to return to Hamburg earlier than booked. Delta was very supportive and changed my flight at no extra charge and without asking any unnecessary questions. Their service on the ground and in the air was excellent. Wheelchair assist worked well. Thank you Delta.

"helpful and smart service "

Every airline has its bad days, but I have been very happy with the service on Delta Air Lines. I recently made an error in my booking and the agent on the phone fixed it immediately. Then it turns out the agent had double-booked me on the flight so I called again. I am still waiting for the refund to my credit card but thanks to their helpful and smart service reps, I feel fairly confident they will figure it out. Traveling is so stressful these days that good customer service on airlines means more to me than almost anything else besides safety.
