"not want to fly again"
Kim Tinney (United States)
My husband and I had a direct Delta Air Lines flight from Honolulu to Seattle that left around 10:30 pm with a total flight time of five hours and twenty-five minutes. It was extremely hot (coming from a person who is cold most of the time) when we boarded the aircraft and remained that way the entire flight, which made it uncomfortable. We were offered a beverage and snack not very long after we departed with the next beverage offering not until 45 minutes before we landed. Between the hot temperature and not being offered enough water, or some type of beverage, I was dehydrated. The experience was enough for me to not want to fly on Delta ever again.

"good flight overall"
M Boada (Mexico)
Mexico City to Nashville via Atlanta with Delta Air Lines. It was a good flight overall. In the four flights we arrived before the schedule time and that´s always good, but I was unconfortable with the space between seats, there´s not enough space to enjoy the time inthere. Also, some of the flight attendants weren´t as polite as the should be.

"really awful service"
S Hopkins (Canada)
San Francisco to Calgary via Seattle. Really awful service from start to finish. I booked my flight through Westjet so Delta is refusing to do anything about it despite the lady at the help desk saying they would. Agent gave me boarding pass to different flight without telling me mine had been cancelled. This flight was delayed and we were not communicated with whatsoever causing many of us to miss our connections. Staff were stressed and rude. Told us we could try running. Connection left 3 minutes before departure even though there were five of us running to get there. New flight landed at midnight meaning either sleep in the airport or try to get picked up then which was not possible for many of us. Refused to get us hotel since we couldn't get picked up. Told us to complain and we would receive some kind of compensation which is now not happening either. Absolutely nothing was done to help us out during the experience. We were never communicated with and had to ask repeatedly to find out what was going on. I was promised they'd fix it and they refuse to do anything to make up for it.

"anything but first class"
R Leland (United States)
My recent experience in first class on a Delta flight from Minneapolis to Salt Lake City (round trip) was anything but first class. The seats in the first class cabin are spaced so close that the tray tables cannot be put in place if the passenger in front of you has reclined his/her seat. This was true of any first class passenger faced with the situation. The flight attendant offered lamely that she wondered why this was a problem saying: "That's strange." Well, it's not strange, Delta has crowded more seats into first class than the seats are designed to permit. It was VERY difficult to get seated in so little foot room as there was. I would only subscribe to Delta first class for routing purposes and would not recommend its first class to anyone.

"better than expected"
M Studzinski (Poland)
Delta Air Lines business class from London LHR to New York JFK. Smooth checkin at T3 - I could not checkin on line, as if you are not an US Citizen or travel with Visa Waiver, but have a visa, you cannot checkin online - ridiculous. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse was amazing and a pleasure to use. Boeing 767-400 has 1-2-1 configuration in Business Class, but seat is quite hard and very narrow, especially when reclined - it is hard to move when you sleep. Cabin crew was quite young and very friendly. Boiling hot hot towels (some passengers drop them on the floor, as it was hard to hold it). Surprisingly good food, average wine list (I'd expect more American wines), but Delta Sunrise Signature Cocktail was a hit. Excellent dessert cart. Very disappointing IFE - no blockbuster hits, just a few new movies, TV shows I've never heard of - simply, there was nothing to watch. Because of some turbulence there was no second service. Arrived on time. Generally, decent product, better than expected, very nice crew, but nothing special to remember except signature cocktail which was a hit.

"terrible system with no value"
Gerhard Feichtinger (United States)
Flight was fine, but this is about the most miserable experience with Delta customer service in setting up / resetting an account. Needs the home address, account gets locked for 24 hours, cannot add miles with confirmation number [need ticket number], associates contacted by email do not read the emails and/or do not have access to the correct systems to help. Entirely too much work for like $27 worth of miles (4000 of a 60000(?) free ticket worth $400 or so). Ridiculously inefficient and terrible system with no value.

"staff were friendly throughout"
JM Carlson (United States)
Flew Delta Air Lines from SAN-PHL with a layover in SLC and PHL-SAN with layover in AL. Gate agents were nice and got us onboard quickly, all flights were on time. Didn't purchase food on the plane, but drinks and snacks were given. Entertainment was only on longer flights but was good. My one complaint is that the TVs didn't have ABC which caused me to miss the Michigan-Ohio State game. I think thats an issue with ABC, because United and Jet Blue which use Directv also don't have ABC. (Delta uses Dish Network.) Staff were friendly throughout and seats were ok comfort wise.

"A pleasant surprise"
E. Middleton (United States)
Living in Miami I fly the dreaded American Airlines 95% of the time, but thanks to their unusually high fares this year, and a spate of bad experiences, I switched to Delta for this trip. Unlike AA, I have zero "privileges" / status on DL, but even with that the flights were far better than what I have become accustomed to. Boarding on the two outbound and the two return segments went smoothly. Ground staff, and cabin staff were friendly, smiling, and even uttered words like "please" and "thank you," which the AA employees forgot sometime back in the 1990s. Their uniforms were neat, clean and pressed. The boarding process, even in "Zone 2," was organized and efficient, again in contrast to the priority boarding / rugby scrum I usually encounter at AA gates in Miami. DL pulls off boarding, somehow, with only one agent, which probably cuts labor costs and frees up more money for amenities like charging stations all over their Atlanta terminals. IS DL up to European or Asian standards? Probably not. But for the money, and a domestic US trip, this was a good value. I'll consider switching again in the future. A pleasant surprise!

"Flight was delayed"
Samantha Johnson (United States)
Flight from San Diego to San Jose was delayed only 15 minutes then given no notification by anyone until 15 minutes before our flight that it was delayed. No explanation, no help, no offer of a refund or trying to find us another flight. My husband and I can't miss our jobs early the next day. Customer service is absolutely horrendous at both bag check in and ticket counter. Will never fly Delta Air Lines again.

"would never fly Delta again"
Fidelis Kamuntu (United States)
I'm not a kind of traveler that ever complains or ever taken a survey to evaluate the quality of service. Today however is different. I've been pushed to the limit and will make a note, of the terrible service that I've received on Delta. I'm on flight AF9301 seat 41H from Minneapolis to Paris CDG. Flight attendant takes the poor Delta service to a new low. First, she is ramming her food cart onto seats and passengers shoulders and proceeds with no remorse or even a simple excuse me. Just passed with a drinks cart, looks like she looks at faces, and chooses who she will ask if they need a drink or not. She clearly ignored me as I awaited to get a drink, and I must say, I have never felt disrespected this much. I had to politely ask another attendant if drinks were for purchase or complementary, just to calm my head. Across the isle, an elderly woman who clearly doesn't speak English motioned for service, unable to clearly get the message across, the woman pointed towards the snacks on the cart the FA was pushing, then the FA grabbed a bunch of snack peanut packets, and literally threw them at the elderly woman. When I asked why the attendants seemed so disrespectful, a senior attendant mentioned something along the lines of staffing etc, which I personally, thought was an excuse, as the aircraft seemed to be less than half full. If had a choice, I would never fly Delta again. Unfortunately Delta is too big an airline, that my choices are narrowed and I keep finding myself on Delta flights.
