Not Verified | In all my years of traveling between Ireland and the US, I never experienced anything like the craziness at Dublin airport March 27, 2022. It took 2 hours to check in as there were only 4 or 5 check in desks for Aer Lingus out of probably 20 (not sure of the exact count) which were assigned for “Bag drop”. Then it took another hour just to get to the one and only security door that was open for the literally thousands of people traveling. There were hardly any airport staff to give us information about what was going on and they were not particularly helpful. This is an absolute disgrace. Many people missed flights because of all this. Dublin Airport, get your act together!

Not Verified | Second time in 2 weeks and I thought the first time was bad! 50 minutes to get through security? Then I bought a sandwich. Then I bought a glass of wine. Then I’m told I can’t eat my sandwich with my glass of wine because I didn’t buy it ‘here’. The place I bought my sandwich is literally 12 steps from where I bought my wine, but that’s not ‘here’. I’m trying, but failing, to keep my sense of humour. I feel so sorry for your staff. I’ll be recommending to avoid Dublin airport at all costs.

Not Verified | Dublin Airport security is complete joke, be warned of very long security lines. Fast track or Business only works in morning hours. Currently it’s 40 minute wait. I travel every week and every week it gets worse. And all the staff can say is staffing shortages. What are the management doing - nothing.

✅ Trip Verified | Dublin Airport has taken the number one position on the list of my worst airport experiences ever. I have travelled across 40 of the 50 US states and to 20 countries and this was my worst experience. I arrived at Dublin Airport for an international flight to the US. I was met with 2.5 hours of consistent queuing throughout the airport. It was like a scene out of a movie. The queue line at check in for my airline took me 60min because they only had three people working the main customer desk. Then I go to security where there is only one person working to scan tickets and the sign says a 50min wait. Then, one you luckily got past him you get to choose between one of about only 6 security inspection lines because they have the other 10ish lines closed. I queue there for easily another 20-25min. Then, I go to the U.S. Preclearance section which is a zoo! We’re forced to take off our shoes, remove liquids, then electronics, take off jackets but don’t worry they let you keep your bet on. What happened to TSA Precheck? This is US Preclearance isn’t it? The US security and subsequent customs took about another 20-30min. Then, I show up in the US cleared area and I would like to buy a water bottle for the flight but oh no that is a bridge too far. There is a single shop open with a queue line of about 30-40 people, every vending machine that is working is totally sold out except for a few snickers bar, 2 Coca-colas, and 1 monster energy drink. There was one vending machine full of water but of course it was out of service. So I am not queuing once again to board my flight. This was a horrible experience! If you like standing in queue lines visit the Dublin airport, you’ll have a grand ole time I promise.

Not Verified | The airport security is incredibly understaffed. I just spent almost 3 hours waiting for my flight standing in a huge queue of people without any information whatsoever. The staff were rude and didn't help at all. I was lucky that my airline company TAP was humane enough to wait on us despite a delay of over an hour. Otherwise I would have missed it like so many did.

✅ Trip Verified | Genuinely the worst airport I’ve ever ever been to. Staff are redundant, rude and, in some cases, outright aggressive and confrontational. The amenities are dreadful and drab, the prices are steep even for an airport and the lack of information boards caused great stress and concern amongst passengers. But the absolute worst thing was the four hours it took to get through security. I, my partner and hundreds of other people missed flights home because of it. I’ll never be coming back to Dublin, or Ireland, for these reasons. Disgraceful.

✅ Trip Verified | 1.5 hrs just to get thru security with just three gates operating from 14. Received a late text before departure advising 3.5hrs thru security. Zero covid distancing, students panicking over missed flights. As an Irish man the worst I have seen.

✅ Trip Verified | Got delayed checking in my bags as there was a massive queue. Fast track is a joke. Security queue was showing a 30 min wait so a very rude member at staff (who scoffed at me) told me to buy fast track. I had 35 mins before my gate closed and I was almost 30 mins in the fast track queue, I had to ask people if I could skip in front of them! Waste of €12.99, just about made my flight.

Not Verified | Useless airport. Extremely long wait for security clearance. Many security staff extremely rude (if you guys hate your job, then don't take it out on people travelling) on numerous occasions. Baggage is very slow to come out in comparison to other countries. Useless selection of shops/restaurants, and overall lacking atmosphere. Hate having to use this airport.

Not Verified | When I saw how many bad reviews this place I thought why add another...but after yesterday afternoon/evening something has to change. Ryanair helpfully sent a text saying big queues at security so get there early. Essentially two and a half hours from walking into the airport until clearing security. 4 out of 12 scanner/security points being used. It must have been 1500 plus people waiting to get through. I get the 'pay extra to go fast track' angle to get more revenue but is this the way to do it. People crying, police called to angry mobs, kids and just about everyone stressed to pieces. Why is it acceptable for so long looking at the dates of reviews. Even Ryanair joined the party asking 250 Euro for a fellow passenger to be moved to the next London flight. Excellent work Mr O'Leary. The management of this airport cannot seriously be keeping their jobs - get it sorted. Couldn't organise a pxxx up in a Guinness factory. Even when we were at the gate, hosts of people being escorted back to the concourse because they had missed their flights and were kicking off. And such a nice Airport...does no one care about this shambles at peak times?
