Not Verified | Customer service is horrible! I flew into Raleigh with American I was able to bring a carry on which was a small suit case and I checked a bag! Coming back home I was put on United. When checking my bag, I was told my carry on can’t go above me it must go on the floor under my seat, which I was okay with. I get to the gate to check in and the guy immediately has an attitude! I literally told him to talk the attitude out of his voice because the way he was talking he was so rude! Immediately “I don’t know how you guys made it this far with these bags, they need to be checked and that’s going to be $65” so I try to explain to him that upstairs let us through and told me where my bag had to go! This guy had no patience. The staff do not communicate when I asked him to speak to the guy who let me in who caught an argument saying that guy wasn’t in charge! My friend had no problem, her bag was a duffel bag as mine was a smaller suitcase, her bag heals shoes and some of everything hanging out of it! He said absolutely nothing about her bag which was funny because they were the same size just different shaped. I will never fly through United again. This airline is a joke. Communication is the key, customer skills is something you should have working with guest, and not surprising at all they lacked both.

"very disappointed in United Airlines"

✅ Trip Verified | My flight was supposed to be on Saturday the 29th at 10 pm then it kept getting delayed we got on the plane around 9:45 pm and didn’t get off the plane till 2 in the morning they said we had to go to another gate there was another flight for us at 2:40 am. We then waited there for two hours just for that flight to get canceled then they sent us to a hotel which they did pay for but we didn’t get there till 5 in the morning and had to pay for a 60$ Uber back to the airport the next day. I am not from this area so this was very inconvenient also the next day my flight to Minnesota got canceled again due to air traffic. So this then delayed me arriving to Minnesota two days late and resulted me into missing a day of work witch I had to lose money and spend another day wasting money in another state. I am very disappointed in United Airlines.

"the overheads were already filled"

Not Verified | I intentionally paid extra for first class and intentionally packed a small bag that would fit in the overhead because I knew I had a very tight connection in Chicago thanks to UA changing flight times. When I boarded with the first class group all of the overheads were already filled I presume either with people who boarded before I did or airline personnel. I feel that the personnel should make sure at least one spot is open for luggage for the first class customers. What is the point of paying twice the fare? Staff was not helpful in correcting the problem.

✅ Trip Verified | I want to commend United for the way in which they handled a number of problems we had while flying last week. Our return flight was canceled. There were people readily available to assist in where to go and who to talk to. They were staff just walkng around the gate area waiting to lend help. I was given a card to scan to speak to a live person via chat. That person was on the line very quickly. They were not able to get me a direct flight that same day but directed me to the Customer Service gate area where I could see an agent in person. With about 10 people in line, I only waited abouit 10 minutes. They had 6 agents working to help. The agent I spoke to worked very quickly to find me a next day flight. (The flight cancellation was due to weather and affected other flights as well). My husband has cancer, is very weak, has PAD in his legs and can't fly multiple stop flights. Due to the medical problems as well as the fact we were flying first class due to my husband's health, the agent issued me a hotel voucher as well as food vouchers. The next day, we were told that the seat I was assigned to, had a loose and wobbly armrest and the seat could not be used. There was no other available seat in first class so I would have to fly economy. I let them know that I am my husband's caregiver and that is was necessary for me to be with him. The gate attendant assured me they would resolve the matter. They offered a generous travel voucher via the loudspeaker to any volunteer that would give up their seat to someone needing a seat due to medical reasons. Someone gave up their seat and we were able to sit together in first class for the flight. My husband had wheelchair service to the door of the plane and we were boarded first. When we got him into his seat, the rest of the passengers were allowed to board. The service from Vegas to Houston and back was great. The flight attendants were all friendly and helpful. Drink and food service was fast. The food was good ! The free direct TV in flight as well as the complimentary earbuds were great. The flights were on time and smooth. I would fly United again for sure. The response from all involved was fast and friendly.

"my first, and last, flying United"

✅ Trip Verified | Worst airline ever! Rude staff, unorganized. They tell you there is enough room for bags and then make you check it as you’re boarding. Phone chargers in the seats don’t work. Moved to another seat and it was also broken. Customer service is pathetic and non existent. United says service is its priority behind safety which tells me I should be afraid on this flight. I will never, ever fly United again. Also, it’s my first, and last, flying United.

"Flying with United was a mistake"

✅ Trip Verified | To initiate this review, I was greeted at the c5 gate at 6.45 (RSW) with a face of disgust and a “who are you”? I’ve never had an airline great me this terribly. Secondly, I was told I wasn’t checked in, the lady was incorrect in stating this, I had checked in the morning of (online) and of course went to the podium to check in a bag. I went back to the main United Airlines Podium after denial to my flight and the agent mentioned I was indeed checked in for the flight, she didn’t understand why I was rejected entry. All of this caused a missed flight for a business related trip. Flying with United was a mistake, I will continue to fly with Delta moving forward to receive fair treatment, I don’t expect much but I won’t settle for the service I received with United.

"I hope to never be forced to fly with United again"

✅ Trip Verified | After a 2 and a half hour delay on a 45 minute flight, we missed our connecting flight. We waited on the Customer Service line for 2 hours. During this time, I asked multiple agents at gates for help, and was told that I needed to wait in the understaffed customer service line. I was told by agents who were too busy on their personal cell phones that they couldn’t help me establish a connection. When I asked the second agent to ask a supervisor to send additional staff to customer service, she ignored me. I continued to ask what to do next and she just looked through me and resumed using her phone as if I didn’t exist. Most other airlines will offer assistance at the gate or counter. This would not us ever happened with an airline like Alaska. I hope to never be forced to fly with United again.
