"already there is an issue"

(United States)

So our flight hasn't even taken off yet. And already there is an issue. We had upgraded to Delta comfort on our flight from New York JFK to Amsterdam, a long international flight. The biggest reason for this is there were only 2 seats in the row which was perfect for my fiancé and I. However, upon checking in - we find our row now has 3 seats - and I'm at the window. And she is in the aisle. With someone in between us. We called Delta and they apologized, but could do nothing about it. It's our first big international trip and either we are apart from each other the whole flight or someone is getting stuck in the middle. Neither of which is very appealing. We normally only fly American. I guess we should have stuck with what we know instead of taking a chance on Delta.

"my airline of choice"

(United States)

Inclement weather at my connection caused reroutes and significant delays, obviously very frustrating, but the Delta crews were professional and helpful throughout the ordeal - making sure we had drinks and snacks and even ordered pizzas for us when we were diverted to Huntsville to wait out the storm. Really pleased with the team members on each leg of my flight and in the terminals. They were so friendly and sincere despite the pushback they were likely getting from many passengers. Delta continues to make themselves my airline of choice. Thanks to the ATL and MSP based crews, appreciated you all today!

"never fly Delta again"

(United States)

Our flight was repeatedly moved from gate to gate for 6 hours and then canceled without letting anyone know. They were too cowardly to announce that our flight was canceled overhead and just ignored the passengers till we figured it out. This all happened on Christmas eve! Hundreds of Delta passengers were stranded in an airport on Xmas eve and they gave us no answers and no apologies or vouchers were offered. The staff was incredibly callous and unsympathetic. They had 1 customer service rep to help over a hundred people in line. The situation was handled so badly. I've never been treated so poorly by an airline. I will never fly Delta again.

"no definitive answers"

(Canada)

They boarded us on the plane, knowing that there was a mechanical issue on the flight, and made us wait an hour and a half, without updating us very frequently. At the end, they ended up de-planing us, made us walk back through customs and immigration, and then had a large line-up to re-book flights. When they booked us on a flight, they ended up delaying that flight without telling us, and then they tried to put us on another airline very last minute, made us walk all the way to the other end of the airport where the counter told us that flight had already left. So we had to come all the way back and they are trying to rebook us from scratch. Wasted an entire day at the airport and there are still no definitive answers. The service was friendly though.

"never fly with Delta again

(United Kingdom)

Seattle to Amsterdam, a 10 hour flight and my wife and I are not even sitting next to each other on Christmas Eve. Unacceptable Delta does not honor preferred seat request even if tickets are bought 4 months in advance. Very poor customer service. People at the desk are nice just doing there jobs. I will never fly with Delta again even if the long haul flight was free. Watch out for operated by. Sorry KLM and Air France, you guys lost my money as well.

"value for money not given"

(United States)

We a family of four flew Delta Air Lines from La Guardia, NYC to Fort Myers, Florida. Severe delay in flight. One seat was downgraded due to being oversold according to ticket. First class stated dinner but we were only provided water. Service was non existent. Value for money was not given. Would not recommend flying Delta.

"she's drinking a Starbucks"

(United States)

Little Rock to Atlanta. We've been diverted to a different airport without a Delta hub because the plane was not fully filled up with fuel so it couldn't be rerouted to an airport with a Delta hub. Why was the plane not fully fueled for a 6am flight knowing that weather was bad in ATL with was supposed to be a 1.5hr flight and now it has turned into sitting on a tarmac for 3 hours with no food, drinks, blankets, one bathroom and having the air freezing inside. Unprofessional flight attendants while explaining the safety instructions was getting into her carry on to get gum instead of instruct. Then when she is walking through to make sure everyone is buckled up before we take off she's drinking a Starbucks! Unprofessional!

"embarrassed by his attitude"

(United Kingdom)

After a 5 day holiday in New York my son daughter and I boarded the flight home and was seated in the back three seats of the aircraft, the air conditioning was on quite high so had to cover our legs with our coats as it was quite cold, this carried on throughout take off and till we were well into the air which was a good half an hour. When the steward came round to give us peanuts and biscuits I asked him if he could turn the aircon down - he told me to cover my legs with a blanket - as I'd already done this and was still cold I asked if he could turn the aircon down as I'm cold. He said I don't agree with you, it's a good temperature and if I turn it down the other passengers will be too warm. He was so dismissive of my request and abrupt that I was embarrassed by his attitude. My flight home was an unpleasant experience as he was passing me for the whole flight (I fell asleep and missed breakfast so had to ask him for one, he went and got me one then threw it on my table) to be treated like that on what should be a pleasant experience was unacceptable. The three people in front off us was also cold trying to get warm all the time, one of them wearing a hat and the others huddling under blankets to keep warm.

"an enjoyable flight"

(United States)

Our trip to Brussels started out in Austin, Texas with a short two hour flight to Atlanta, as per usual when flying transatlantic with Delta, you are usually directed through Atlanta, New York, or Detroit. The domestic first class seats were comfortable enough, and there was a charging port between the seats as well, however there was no inflight entertainment. We were offered snacks like peanuts, potato chips, and crackers out of a basket, and all drinks were free. However, because of the short length of the flight there was no meal service, and even some of the larger snacks like tapas were unavailable. The flight attendants were polite and nice, but they were not above and beyond, and didn't interact with the passengers more than they had to. As we were flying in the Delta One cabin international, we got free access to the Sky Club, however with so many people flying for the holidays, it was overly crowded, and a restaurant by our boarding gate was a much better option to spend our two hour layover. When the flight from Atlanta to Brussels finally boarded, we were promptly offered champagne or orange juice. There was a Westin pillow and comforter set, TUMI amenities kit with a pen, lip balm and lotion, eye mask, socks, tissues, mouthwash, and earplugs. After passengers were seated, attendants brought cashews and refilled our champagne. About an hour after take off dinner service included option of beef or cod. The inflight entertainment was rather limited with about 30 or so movies and a handful of television shows on seatback screens. The staff was friendly, but didn't quite go out of their way to do anything. When we arrived in Brussels, after a quick mix up at passport control, we were on our way after an enjoyable flight in relative comfort.

"no need to be surly"

(United States)

Saint Martin to New York JFK. We should have know from the start of this flight with the mayhem at the airport that this was not going to be good. We finally boarded and then had to wait on the tarmac for an hour due to heavy air traffic. The Captain kept us up to date, but still we were an hour late. There was one FA in Business and three in Economy. They announced that the beverage service would begin shortly and that passengers in Business and Delta Comfort were entitled to complimentary drinks, which was one of the reasons I booked DC in addition to the additional legroom. The beverage service started and we were in the second row of the Comfort seats. Everyone around me ordered soda, coffee, water but no one order an alcoholic drink even though it was late afternoon. When the surly flight attendant got to me I asked for a double gin and tonic. Without smiling she asked if I wanted the whole can. I figured it would save her time so I said yes. She couldn't find tonic in her drawer, harrumphed and walked back to get one. Upon returning she asked if I wanted one cup or two. I told her one would be fine. As she opened the first of the two gin bottles she looked at me and said, "I'll give you these two but that's all you're going to get." (She wasn't kidding.) I was dumbfounded. I didn't have any intention of ordering more, but I didn't need her to ensure I knew I wouldn't be getting any more - regardless of the fact that I was in a seat entitled to "complimentary drinks" (no mention of a limit). She pushed her cart to the next row and moved on. Later in the flight I wanted some water and got up and went to the rear galley, where the three FA's were enjoying one of the cheese and cracker snack boxes. They were talking and I didn't want to interrupt, but waited until one of them noticed me standing in the doorway. After several minutes one of them did and asked, "What can I get you?" "A bottle of water please." Her terse reply, "We don't have bottled water," to which I replied, "Fine then. A cup of water please." She turned around, tossed the cup on top of the bin of ice on the cart, sloshed some water in the cup and handed it to me, never asking if I wanted ice (the water was room temp). I returned to my seat, looked at my husband and said Delta sucks. I understand if FA's are miserable when dealing with nasty passengers, but when the passenger is being polite there is no need to be surly and curt. Just one more example of how much US airlines have to learn.
