"never fly American Airlines again"

Trip Verified | Burlington to Pensacola return via Charlotte. We attempted to check in on the kiosk only to find we were not seated together. We had to pay $60.00 to get seated together and they would not assign seats for our connecting flight or give any gate information for our connecting flight! So at each Gate we had to ask for seat assignments only to be told to wait and wait and wait until just before boarding! At one time we were told we were on standby, yet we were holding tickets. All the gate attendants treated us like we were an annoyance to them (with the exception of the BTV attendant). We will never fly on American Airlines again. We even observed them split of a mother and two small children, a father and two small children and many couples - placing them randomly throughout the plane and telling them they would have to barter to sit next to each other! The most inefficient way I have ever seen to assign seats and board people.

"loud, obnoxious ads"

Trip Verified | Boise to Phoenix. Let's put a screen in the back of every seat. And, just as passengers begin to fall asleep let's pump loud, obnoxious ads into their faces preventing from sleeping because we won't let them be allowed to control the screen or volume and be forced to continue to listen to our ads for credit, food and movies over and over. And don't forget the bag of broken up stale pretzels. I'll never fly American again.

"the worst airline to fly with"

Trip Verified | Charlotte to Tulsa. American Airlines is the worst airline to fly with. Everytime there is a 1-5 hour layover. They overbook the flights and have 0 customer service. I will be choosing a different airline in the future because this airline is never going to get me to my final destination on time!

"The staff was so rude"

Trip Verified | Knoxville to Charlotte. I missed my flight due to the slow understaffed check-In and TSA. I got to the airport more more than an hour in advance and was forced to stand for an entire hour. The TSA line was unreal and none of the staff was kind. Along with my self 9 others missed this flight. The staff was so rude and they closed the door in our face.

"I had so many problems"

Not Verified | Las Vegas to Dallas via Columbia. I don't know where to begin because I had so many problems with American Airlines. Flight from Las Vegas to Dallas canceled. Was given alternate flight to Chicago - Charlotte - Columbia. Landed in Chicago only to be told flight to Charlotte had also been canceled. I went to AA Customer Relations and spoke to extremely rude agent. No flights out of Chicago so ended up spending the night in the airport. AA provided "hotel discount coupon" which was useless since hotels were already booked. No food voucher provided. I did not have a carry on bag due to AA's policy for economy travelers, I asked that my checked bag be brought to me so I could get my medication. My checked bag was located in Philadelphia even though I had no connections in Philadelphia. The next day, my flight to Columbia, SC was diverted to Charleston. Finally made it to Columbia after 28.5 hours only to find that my checked bag had made it to Columbia hours earlier. So AA can get your checked luggage to destination sooner than passengers. Makes absolutely no sense.

Not Verified | Seattle to Aruba via Philadelphia. I was at the airport early. I checked in with no one in front of me. My luggage was checked in right away with no issues. So when I arrived in Aruba, there was no luggage. I was told it was still in Philly and it would be sent to Miami and then onto Aruba. Well the next day it was till in Philly and it was going to be sent from Philly. I finally received it about 7:00pm . Really disappointed in AA.

"without luggage for three days"

Not Verified | Dallas to San Diego. The day after Christmas, there was a storm in Dallas so our plane was delayed. The problem was that when finally boarded for the third time and got to the runway, it was announced that it was cancelled so that another group of travelers could board our plane and go to LA along with our luggage, which they said they couldn’t take off the plane. We were left in the terminal, without luggage for three days. Who does this!

"Very poor response from the team"

Trip Verified | Flew American Airlines from Dallas to Boston. My flight has been delayed for the past two and half hours. We aren’t getting proper reasons for the delay and still they are asking us to wait. This is our last flight for Boston from Dallas after which we may need to catch new flight the next day in case of cancellation. Very poor response from the team. Also they keep on changing terminals.

"Last time with AA for sure"

Trip Verified | Philadelphia to San Diego. Very disappointed! My flight was from Philadelphia to San Diego on Thursday December 20th, gate A2. We were a group of five, my mother (a senior), me and my 2 children ( age 6 and 4) and my youngest sister. Unfortunately our seats were randomly assigned and not close to each other, so I decided to speak to the agents at the gate to help me sit at least with my kids together. I approached the guy at the gate in a very nice way and I asked him if he can help me with seats. I was shocked because of his unprofessional attitude! Instead of answering my request, he pointed at me with his fingers and asked to go ahead and board to the airplane! I repeated my question again and he started yelling at me. I boarded with my kids and family, me and my 6 years old had to sit by ourselves in different places, I asked the flight attendant if they had any open seats, she said yes, we have 20 open seats so I managed to sit at least with my son! I don’t usually post bad reviews unless it’s really bad! I was shocked by his attitude and poor behavior. American Airlines are losing hundreds of customers due to bad customer services. They really need to work on training their staff on how to do their job in a professional way. This person could’ve been able to help me but instead, he decided to act like this with a customer. Last time with AA for sure! I don’t recommend them, instead, Jet blue are much better and more professional.

"very disappointed in this"

Trip Verified | Chicago to Knoxville. I am appalled at the service American Airlines offered. They canceled my flight from Chicago to Knoxville at the last minute. We were literally about to board, 20 minutes later than they originally told us. After the cancellation, they offered us zero help. They said our flight could not be rebooked and that we would have to leave Mmuch later than expected. They also refused to pay for a room for us to stay in, even though it was their fault. There were also little to no seats on the flights we needed; therefore, our traveling group had to be broken up and we had to make complex arrangements to get back to where we actually needed. For example, we wanted to fly to Knoxville but we ended up having to fly to Chattanooga. We then had to ask someone to drive all the way there to pick us up and bring us back to Knoxville. There workers/company has given us no help and is pretty much clueless about most of our questions. They didn't even know how we were supposed to get our luggage back. I am very disappointed in this and I plan on only using Delta flight services in the future.
