"delayed the flight twice"

Trip Verified | Houston to Managua via Miami. Very bad services, delayed the flight twice in one day and also they couldn’t have a connection flight to our final destination. They ruined our spring vacation.

"Zero communication"

Trip Verified | Jacksonville to Dallas Ft Worth. One star is high rating. Zero communication. We found out that our flight was cancelled when we arrived at the gate. They couldn’t get us on another flight home until two days later. If we were informed in advance (an hour and a half would’ve worked, I doubt they decided it the last 30 minuets) we could’ve rebooked our room or stayed at the resort until we figured how to get home but instead we dragged our two-year-old around the airport in zero comfort. Later we found that the airline had severe hail damage the previous day which explains the cancellation but also means they had plenty of time to inform affected passengers.

"do not care about customers"

Not Verified | Dallas to Norfolk. Word of warning to anyone planning a trip on American Airlines. They do not care about their customers. Yesterday my flight was delayed for hours in Dallas due to weather and because they had no flight attendants. Had to spend the night and they did not help me with a hotel or transportation or a meal. Total out of pocket was $180. Today I am back at the airport and my flight is again delayed because the crew is somewhere else. I’m not even going to my original Airport. There are Delta flights that would get me where I need to go but American won’t rebook me on one. This American trip has been a disaster.

"delayed for four hours"

Trip Verified | Minneapolis to Phoenix. Awful, the back of the plane smelled of fume. It snowed so we were delayed for four hours and the flight did not have any food. All they had were pretzels and cookies. The plane was super hot as well and the ac fan on top of my head barely blew any air out. I was starving by the time I got to Phoenix but could not get anything to eat either because I was rushing to my next flight.

"reroute due to weather"

Not Verified | My flight got delayed because of a reroute due to weather. Then it was delayed 5 more times (and the weather was only in one state which was behind us-the weather ahead is good). The last delay due to the plane needing repairs. Supposed to arrive at 8:50am, now hoping to land at 7:50pm. No accommodations. Have never had this problem with any other airlines.

"never fly American Airlines again"

Not Verified | I will never fly American Airlines again. Every time I book with them my flight is cancelled. Tonight my flight was cancelled and their solution is to book me for a flight on Monday. That's 2 days after I am scheduled to arrive at my destination. I waited in line 2 hours for this solution and their solution is a cot in the airport.

"Such poor reception"

Trip Verified | I’m from India, travelling to NY via Boston. My first flying experience with American Airlines. My flight has been delayed for 3 hours, but the lady at the counter was kind enough to assist me to see if I can get onto an earlier flight. I walk up to gate B20 of American Airline at Logan Boston Intl airport; and wait for 10 mins for these 2 airline staff to stop chit chatting at the gate. And when the chatter was unending I decided to excuse myself and ask for help. Me: “Excuse me Ma’am” The tall lady : barked back “ I’m not talking to you! Can’t you see we both talking! U better wait! Don’t you got no sense?!” Such poor reception, extremely rude!

"will never fly American again"

Trip Verified | After purchasing my ticket and they offered me extra insurance so that I can change my flight or cancel without penalty. After finding out that my business has concluded early I attempted to get on standby status. After finding out that I was plenty of seats available they informed me that because I have economy class ticket I could not change my ticket without a $200 charge. So basically I purchased the extra insurance and wasted my money. I will never fly American again.

"We were so disappointed"

Trip Verified | Atlanta to Los Angeles. We chose American Airlines because of the comfort and entertainment provided. We paid higher prices than with other airlines for the amenities. However, our flight was changed with no explanation other than it being cancelled. We had to rearrange everything. Then the new flight was a one stop (which we hate) the reason we paid more for non stop. Then there was no entertainment on either flights. 6 hours to the east coast, it sucked! We were so disappointed that we didn't take our return flight back on American. We paid for non stop on another airline since we received nothing we originally wanted with American.

"Next time I’ll drive"

Trip Verified | Gulfport to Dallas. The plane was less than 50% booked. The flight attendants allow people to move seats as they like backwards and forewords throughout the plane so the will not have to sit next to another passenger. I was unable to sit in any exit row, all of which were empty. “You have to pay for those seats.” You also have to pay to sit further up in the plane instead of the back where I was. So I cannot move to a paid seat but others can? What is the purpose of this? Yes, normally you would have to pay extra to sit in an exit row. Since absolutely no one paid to sit there because the flight was more than half empty what is the issue with sitting there? If I had paid for a ticket and not picked a seat, if it was the only seat left I would not have to pay more for the flight, they would automatically put me in the exit row. Not like it hasn’t happened several times already. I fly often for work. Thanks for nothing American Airlines. Next time I’ll drive.
