"Worst flight experience ever"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | Worst flight experience ever! The cabin in this aircraft is very noisy and unevenly heated/cooled. Sitting in Row 5, the inside temp of the cabin was about 27 degrees C which is much too warm and uncomfortable. The air vents that can be opened up feel like a babies breath which barely put out any air at all! Then, to cool off, I had to go back to the rear of the plane which was an astounding temp difference of at least 5-6 degrees celcius. There is nothing you can do in this case. Also, I am not a big person at 5t 5 inches and 190 pounds and I could barely fit in the lavatory! For a newer aircraft, I give the comfort level a big "F" for failure as well as the washroom which is an adequate size if you are maybe a young child of about age 10! Having flown in many different aircraft over the years including the old DC8's, DC-9's, 727's etc and even the old Vickers Viscount. Boeing quality and customer experience in my opinion has gone downhill! It's now about how many seats they can cram in and who cares about cabin noise! I am quite disappointed to see that this 737 MAX 8's are taking over the skies on these domestic routes. I would choose to fly rather on any Airbus built aircraft any day of the week! I don't see what the big deal about the MAX 8 is. I would rather pay double the fare on an older aircraft just to be comfortable. Too bad these MAX 8's were not still grounded. I also cringe at thinking what other safety issues that will come along with these "cookie cutter" poor quality airplanes will have in future. Just glad when the 2.5 hour ride from hell was over!

"lost my one checked luggage"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | WestJet Airlines lost my one checked luggage. I was told by staff in Vancouver to that I had to check my bag and that it would be in Montreal when I got there. I saw the baggage handlers load it into the plane cargo hold. but in Montreal no baggage arrived. I filed a report, and expecting my baggage pronto!

“customer service was excellent”

(Canada)

Not Verified | The customer service was excellent for me as I am disabled. The flight crew were very helpful and accommodating. I would fly West Jet compared to Air Canada because the flight attendants on Air Canada don't care about passengers with disabilities and are definitely not accommodating.

"does not care about its customers"

(United States)

Not Verified | Westjet does not care about its customers. The check in at Houston was a nightmare. The gentleman at the counter was allowing people to cut in line and didn’t know what he was going. We were fifth in line but stood there for over an hour to check our luggage. Westjet then lost our luggage. Now over a month later I still have not received one response from the refund. Their lost luggage department is backed up because they have this problem so much!

"the airline duped me"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | I'm a frequent traveler who loved flying with WestJet, but no longer fly with them unfortunately. Nobody likes to feel duped, and the airline duped me. My flight from San Juan was cancelled. Which happens from time to time and I value my safety as much as anyone. The airline was kind enough to cover the accommodation for the evening. The deal was that we cover the cost of the hotel and they would reimburse up to $500. When it came time to submit my claim, the refused to cover the cost and said my hotel receipt from The Vanderbilt and visa statement didn't meet their requirements. It's petty, but also a shame to lose out on our business relationship. I fear they would do it again. Best of luck if you choose to fly with WestJet over a competitor.

"very rude and unprofessional"

(Canada)

Not Verified | Westjet staff were very rude and unprofessional. I travelled with my family including 2 little kids. This was from Calgary to Victoria. During on-boarding they announced zone 1 and passengers travelling with minor to come forward. When I did since I had two little kids one of the staff turned us away. I had to wait on the line for another 20 minutes with kids who were very restless. Eventually we got through but again the lady who was checking our boarding pass and I’d was more rude and was talking in high pitch tone. This was on 23rd August flight 335 around 1 pm from Calgary to Victoria. She should not be working in there as she is extremely rude.

"exceptional customer service"

(Canada)

Not Verified | I was flying with my mom to Cabos to visit family. At the time of checking at the desk, we told the lady that we were flying together, and she ended up given seats apart. So once we were on the plane, one of the stewardess (Esther) found a row of seat where I could sit beside my mom for the flight. This was very kind of her, and exceptional customer service as we did not asked for, but she reached out and approached me. We also noticed that she is very good at her job, and was looking after other passengers on the flight.

"an incredibly frustrating experience"

(Canada)

Not Verified | I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with WestJet during a supposed leisure trip from vancouver to vegas, with a layover in calgary. The entire journey turned into a nightmare due to their abysmal customer service, prolonged flight delays, and a complete lack of accommodation during a 10 hour delay. The initial anticipation for my vegas trip quickly soured when my flight from calgary was delayed by 10 hours. While I understand that delays can happen, the lack of clear communication from westjet’s staff was deeply disappointing Throughout the entire experience, the customer service representative I interacted with displayed an alarming lack of empathy and professionalism. Their dismissive attitude towards passengers concern only amplified the frustration felt by everyone affected. It’s as if WestJet has completely forgotten that its success hinges on customer satisfaction and maintaining a positive reputation. In conclusion, my experience with WestJet was a complete disaster. The combination of multiple flight delays, lack of communication, and the absence of any effort to accommodate or compensate for the inconvenience made this trip one that i would rather forget, and i would not recommend WestJet to anyone ever, It’s a shame to see an airline that was once reputable for its service quality fall so far in terms of customer care.

"this rubbish is unacceptable"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | Paid for Premium Economy which includes a meal. The only meal left when the flight attendant got to us was pork belly, which consists of big chunks of pig fat with tiny shreds of meat attached. It was inedible. I don't expect haute cuisine when high in the sky but with no choice but this rubbish is unacceptable. And with the only entertainment except WestJet app, I will be travelling by Air Canada, the alternative that will be available, in the future. More competition in the airline industry should be allowed in Canada to overcome the lack of options.

"Worst customer service"

(Canada)

Not Verified | Worst customer service. I had damaged bag (Rimowa brand) quite expensive. As soon as they saw my wheels broken they were like we cannot handle this I will request to headquarter to call you back. 2 weeks waiting, did not get a phone call. I called them and this lady was so unpolite and arrogant. She refused to answer some of my question. It is so confusing she did not even admit their fault break my luggage.
