✅ Trip Verified | I and my partner were traveling to Vancouver from Paris, with a stop in Calgary. We are French, have lived in Canada for about two years, and never had any issues traveling in and out of Canada before. In particular, we had been twice in the US before being back in France and even crossed the border back to Canada about 2 weeks before this flight without the slightest issue. As French citizens, we need only an Electronic Travel authorization which I just had renewed and which was 2 years old for my partner (but valid 5 years). We were first talked to rudely by the Security agency hired by the airlines company to stand at the beginning of the check-in queue who requested immigration documents (that we did not need, but that they were sure we needed, such as work permits and such), they called the Canadian Immigration service of Roissy-CDG who talked to my partner and seems embarrassed for us. They were also requesting "Visas" even though French nationals do not need them. As I was trying to explain to them what they obviously didn't know, I was told I was "aggressive" and "haughty". We lost about 20min there. We had to justify our coming to Canada, with very intrusive questions like if we were illegal immigrants interrogated by some backward police (even though this security team has absolutely no qualification nor right to ask us any such question). Then, we reached the check-in and baggage deposit and the agent who had probably observed the scene from a distance requested my partner to show his 2-years old ETA confirmation email which he couldn't find, having changed recently his cellphone on which it was. According to this agent, the validity of it (which has always been immediately visible to all borders agent and other airlines companies without needing to ask to see a "confirmation email") was not "accessible on his system". We had to re-apply for one (losing another 30min). Finally, another airline agent "saw" the validity of his ETA, by some sort of miracle after I requested they called again the Immigration service. We will never travel with them again!

Not Verified | What a despicable airline, my 10 year old daughter had to be flown to Toronto immediately. We are the recipients of a liver transplant child who just had this life changing procedure in July 2023. On September 4th during her regular scheduled blood work it was found that her enzyme numbers had increased 3 times the norm and the following Friday up again significantly higher. A conversation with Sick Kids in Toronto deemed it necessary to have her there the following day, so we drive mostly through the night to arrive in Winnipeg to catch a 6am flight to have her there. Arrived at 6.16am and were refused entry because we arrived 6 minutes late. I requested a supervisor who had no empathy no compassion and no regard and said rules are rules.. We then called WestJet and were given the same answers, additionally they kept full fare, I have made this issue aware on all social media platforms and have a meeting tomorrow with a media news outlet. I believe this was a disgusting situation and certainly a disgusting display of customer service on all levels.

✅ Trip Verified | Never once in my life I was satisfied with Westjet service. Frequent delays (2+ hrs) with "there is nothing I can do" every time. There is a reason why many different new airlines are popping up in Canada. No one likse them. They should be ashamed of themselves.

✅ Trip Verified | On September 4, 2023, we booked a WestJet flight from Calgary to Vancouver for taking an Alaska cruise. We arrived at the airport at 9 AM, two hours prior to departure, and proceeded to gate A14 as indicated on our boarding pass. At 10:25 AM, I discovered via email that the gate had changed to B31. We hurried to B31, arriving at 10:53 AM, only to find it closed, with no staff present despite the aircraft at the terminal. At WestJet's service desk, the staff blamed us and even threatened to place me on a no-fly list. Despite my efforts to resolve the situation, they denied me boarding. My friend, after a lengthy discussion with a supervisor, managed to secure a seat on the next flight, but I was left stranded. This incident resulted in missing not only the WestJet flight but also our scheduled cruise and the return flight.

Not Verified | Beware booking business class on the 787 from Dublin to Calgary. There is no lounge access in Dublin for business class passengers. This is just incredible - apparently maybe last had access sometime in 2022. Westjet were not transparent about this at booking despite their website indicating Business class in the 787 had lounge access. Fly Air Canada instead if you go business class, AC has lounge access.

✅ Trip Verified | Flight was canceled at a time and they rescheduled with disgusting options, they don’t take it seriously. It’s like a joke for them to cancel the flight and make excuses. Same issue was occurred last year with same airline with same route. They assured to provide free hotel stay but mention wrong name of hotel. Their silly mistake pays me a lot, I suffered whole night on airport and nobody there to answer me.

✅ Trip Verified | Airport staff of Westjet sucks, they do not know how to talk to people, all they have to offer is to offboard rather discussing the issue. Me and my wife were travelling together and initial boarding pass gave us seats together but at the gate the the time of boarding they changed our seats apart without any notice and when I asked to talk to a manager they offered to offboard us. All this was happening after our flight was delayed from Vegas by 4 hours and Calgary flight delayed by 1 hour with no reasons given. The worst flight I have ever been.

Not Verified | Worst airline ever. I booked a WestJet flight from Yellowknife to Calgary as a return flight for my trip to Yellowknife. I used ANA and Air Canada for the outbound flight. As you know, as of August 29, 2023, Yellowknife is threatened by wildfires, and the Northern Lights tour has been cancelled and hotel accommodations have been cancelled. Under these circumstances, ANA and Air Canada are making special exceptions for flight changes or cancellations, and in the event of a cancellation, full refunds will be granted. WestJet, on the other hand, does not allow cash refunds and only offers refunds in the form of its own credit, which has a one-year expiration date. Extensions of the expiration date will only be granted if an additional fee is paid, according to the company. This is a terrible drop from Air Canada's very helpful and flexible refund policy. I am disappointed in WestJet for being greedy and unsympathetic.

✅ Trip Verified | Worst flight experience ever! The cabin in this aircraft is very noisy and unevenly heated/cooled. Sitting in Row 5, the inside temp of the cabin was about 27 degrees C which is much too warm and uncomfortable. The air vents that can be opened up feel like a babies breath which barely put out any air at all! Then, to cool off, I had to go back to the rear of the plane which was an astounding temp difference of at least 5-6 degrees celcius. There is nothing you can do in this case. Also, I am not a big person at 5t 5 inches and 190 pounds and I could barely fit in the lavatory! For a newer aircraft, I give the comfort level a big "F" for failure as well as the washroom which is an adequate size if you are maybe a young child of about age 10! Having flown in many different aircraft over the years including the old DC8's, DC-9's, 727's etc and even the old Vickers Viscount. Boeing quality and customer experience in my opinion has gone downhill! It's now about how many seats they can cram in and who cares about cabin noise! I am quite disappointed to see that this 737 MAX 8's are taking over the skies on these domestic routes. I would choose to fly rather on any Airbus built aircraft any day of the week! I don't see what the big deal about the MAX 8 is. I would rather pay double the fare on an older aircraft just to be comfortable. Too bad these MAX 8's were not still grounded. I also cringe at thinking what other safety issues that will come along with these "cookie cutter" poor quality airplanes will have in future. Just glad when the 2.5 hour ride from hell was over!

✅ Trip Verified | WestJet Airlines lost my one checked luggage. I was told by staff in Vancouver to that I had to check my bag and that it would be in Montreal when I got there. I saw the baggage handlers load it into the plane cargo hold. but in Montreal no baggage arrived. I filed a report, and expecting my baggage pronto!
