✅ Trip Verified | I booked with WestJet as had the cheapest flights from Calgary to Halifax but after reading some reviews, I was a little worried. However, the check in process was easy, the flight departed exactly as scheduled & the onboard staff were at all time’s professional & friendly. I would definitely book again & recommend.

✅ Trip Verified | Every time I fly with Westjet I regret it. Worst airline in Canada. I bought the cancellation insurance and missed my connecting flight. Westjet cancelation insurance through Expedia would not cover the loss. I paid for 2 connecting flights on mylast trip. This time my connecting flight was already in the air before we were off the plane, a bunch of people going to Regina had no connecting flight when they arrived and had to stay the night in Calgary and a bunch of people going to Lloydminster also had no connecting flight and were forced to spend 24 hours in the airport or pay for their own hotels and food. The flight before these exact same thing happened and they announced that our connecting flight had taken off again before we were off the plane. So thats 3 out of my last 3 domestic flights. Spent 24 hours in an airport or paid for my own hotel because Westjet does not honour good buisness practice and has zero morals regarding what is right and what is fair. Absolutly disshonorable. I work 4 to 5 weeks staight to get 5 days with my family. 3 out of 3 of my last flights my connecting flight was airborn before we even got off the plane. And one day less with my family and cost couple hundred dollars each time. Shameful they're allowed to do this. Their customers spend insane amounts of money on hotels and meals and cab rides and reschedualing and most important, time with their family. So frustrating and sad they can get away with behavour like this.

Not Verified | The self serve kiosks were not working and directed me to an agent. Had to wait in line for approximately an hour in an uninspiring closed area while one agent screamed for people going to certain destinations. I felt sorry for the people from other countries looking confused. The boarding agent that served me misprinted my boarding pass, and seemed disinterested with her job. On the return flight the gate agents were barking at people like dogs to get into proper lines, when some lanes were left open. The headrest that keeps your head in place while sleeping was broken, good thing I brought a neck pillow. I heard good things about WestJet, but things changed somewhere.

✅ Trip Verified | I would recommend Spirit over WestJet! Our airport had technical difficulties (which we were not aware of) at our gate including the monitor not displaying the correct destination and boarding and the PA system not working and nobody from the WestJet staff did anything to help it’s passengers. The staff confessed after the fact to us that the system was having issues yet they did nothing to let passengers nearby know about when they started boarding or to confirm the flight destination. Many of us were left confused and to top it off they left earlier. Absolutely horrible experience and WestJet takes no responsibility for their negligence. Such a rude staff and completely unhelpful.

✅ Trip Verified | WestJet cancelled my 5:20am flight three hours before we were to leave. At 2am I got an email forcing agreement to accept moving to another flight that was leaving a full 2 days later. So, two days of travel lost. I spent 2.5 hrs on the phone persuading the agent to rebook me on another airline (something they should be aware of). When I asked the agent why the flight was cancelled they said it was a mechanical issue on the plane. Now that it comes to get reimbursed the $200+ it took to travel to another airport in order to leave with a different carrier the same day, they are saying the original issue was not in their control. It was "weather or air traffic control" that caused the plane to be cancelled. They completely changed their reasoning so as to sneak out of reimbursing me. I will try very very hard to not fly WestJet in the future. I’m also cancelling my RBC WestJet MasterCard.

✅ Trip Verified | Flight attendants were very rude and ignored our requests for an additional drinks which we even politely went to the back to ask again. Noticed other passengers doing the same. They refused us which was fine, stated they had no more red wine (I had only had one) then after the 2nd servicing came to me and the flight attendant threw her arms in the air and made a scene since I wasn't done (white wine). Never been treated so badly! We were honestly very polite - very sad!! I worked for 3 years at the airport and know it's a tough job but that was very uncalled for.

Not Verified | WestJet cancelled my connecting flight from Vancouver to Nanaimo. Waited at the airport for 6 hours until WestJet cancelled the flight. They gave me an option for a full refund or take a flight 4 days after. Well I took the option of the full refund, and caught a cab $80 to the ferry, and a $18 ferry ticket to Nanaimo which I barely caught the last ferry available but I made it to my destination thinking I’d at minimum get my cab and ferry paid back in the refund. Nope $17.65 is my full refund, WestJet is only offering this even though I paid extra for cancellation insurance isn’t offering to help either. Won’t be flying WestJet again.

✅ Trip Verified | Horrible. Got delayed 2 hrs so I missed my connecting flight. They booked me on a flight 24 hrs from my flight time. I proceeded to wait in line for 2 hours for them to tell me they cannot pay for my hotel or meals because the delay wasn’t caused by the airline and told me I could go to the website to ask for compensation of a total of $150. The meals and hotel are way more than that by the way! And I also asked if I could get a window seat (because I paid for that on my flight that I missed) and they said I could email for compensation. Don’t book this airline. I will never fly them again.

Not Verified | I paid a hefty $60 to use the WestJet lounge and left in plenty of time to get to the gate. Naturally I had not been there 5 min before they announced a delay of an hr or more - no real reasons but it was airline specific not weather etc. I asked if I could go back to the lounge as it is much easier to work from a table / desk and they refused me! I had left 1o min ago! Even though the delay is the fault of WestJet. Customer service is dead in the airline industry.

✅ Trip Verified | Dreadful experience on WestJet! Chaotic boarding process at Heathrow and even worse at Calgary for the flight onwards to Vancouver. I've flown many long haul flights but WestJet has just about the most uncomfortable seats I've ever experienced. In flight service generally poor. Flight attendants appeared bored and disinterested and did a minimum of work during the flight. After serving lunch on the London/Calgary flight, they disappeared to the back of the aircraft until the snack service prior to landing. Quality of the lunch poor. In flight entertainment was not great either by comparison with other carriers. If West Jet want to perform well on long haul routes, they have a lot of work to do. I will not fly them again and do not recommend them.
