✅ Trip Verified | Flight on 6/10, Phoenix to Miami, involuntarily canceled after we were already boarded on the aircraft. No reason for the cancellation was provided to us. The airline automatically rescheduled for next available which was 2 days out. Well, that absolutely doesn’t help me and caused us to miss our cruise. They placed us on standby for flights that there were no chance of making it on, causing us to waste 5 hours at the airport. I no longer trust AA, and am extremely dissatisfied with their service. Staff were disrespectful of our time and concerns, and they treat you as if you were flying for free. What they are currently doing should be illegal. Shame on you, American Airlines.

"Worst airline experience of my life"

Not Verified | Worst airline experience of my life. Have flown over 300 times in last 10 years. Canceled flight for maintenance and stranded my family in a random city overnight with no safe transportation to a hotel. Refused to reimburse us for anything. When trying to call to get any compensation for money spent to keep family safe and get them home the airline continued to hang up calls and refuse help.

"Most ridiculous service I've ever seen all around"

✅ Trip Verified | I showed up to get a gate pass for an unaccompanied minor. I stood in line for an hour. 2 attendants were working and one attendant was with the same customer for 50 minutes. The other attendant let a lady cut the line and proceeded to help her for 15 minutes delaying everybody that was already waiting. I finally went up there and asked the attendant who was helping the family for 50 minutes if he could help me in which he did. Once I made it through security I was at a random gate trying to verify I was at the right gate to retrieve my daughter and the attendant starts yelling at everybody that they need a break and hands out some paper. I argued that I need to know which gate considering my daughter's plane is almost here and someone finally help me. Most ridiculous service I've ever seen all around.

"Do not fly with this terrible airline"

Not Verified | Worst experience ever. They delayed our flight seven hours, and after making us wait that full duration, they cancelled the flight. No transparency, no recommendations about going elsewhere. At first they refused to give us hotel rooms, but then after we waited in line for hours, making our full time at the airport fourteen hours, they gave us hotel vouchers at 2.30 am and flights for the next day leaving at 6.00 pm. I am now at the hotel writing this review - they have delayed the new flight three hours and I don’t trust them. They are probably going to cancel our flight again, so we have booked with a new airline and will have to drive from there five more hours to home. I am beyond angry. I have called off work two days now and have lost money and income to this airline’s lack of organization. They won’t even refund our flight, they only give vouchers to their own services, even though I will never be flying with them again. Do not fly with this terrible airline.

✅ Trip Verified | Do not waste your money on American. They delayed my first flight back so much that I could not make my layover. Then, after I rescheduled for the next day, that flight was also delayed almost 3 hours. Gate changed literally five times for the one flight, I had to cross the airport three times to reach the new gates to only be moved again. On top of this, they gave no reason for the delays and provided no communication throughout this annoying process.

Not Verified | The worst traveling experience I have ever had. Flights delayed to the point of missing connecting ones, unprofessional service, etc. Our first flight was delayed due to unknown circumstances, which in turn led us to rush in order to make our connecting flight which was in 20 minutes after we had landed. We rush to get our luggage, which also took forever to come out and then our connecting flight gets delayed an hour. Then it gets delayed another hour. I am sitting in the airport waiting for my next flight as I type. This entire experience has been a nightmare. Do not waste your money on American Airlines.

✅ Trip Verified | So after we had a horrific First Class experience flying American Airlines from Honduras to Las Vegas we are now on another experience (not a flight because we haven’t taken off yet) from Las Vegas to Phoenix and have been on the tarmac for 2 hours waiting to take off. Just heard we have to now return to the gate because the plane is overheating! Who knows how long we will wait! Hot! No air! No food! No water! Now the pilot is on the overhead stating he doesn’t know “what’s really going on and he’s waiting for answers to the problem”. What problem? Our trip from Honduras in First Class did not include the scheduled meal service during the 5.5 hour leg from Miami to Las Vegas and my husband is diabetic! Obviously AA has no clue about the safety of humans or customer service and that is unacceptable! Normally AA sends a link for a review however when we had the poor experience from Honduras we never received a link so I’m not expecting one after this experience! Shame on American!

"Our return flight was terrible"

Not Verified | Our return flight was terrible. After the plane arrived and they knew they wanted maintenance to look at it, they did not infirm us for hours and we were traveling with a 1 year old. When our flight was rebooted, they did not have a seat available for her even though we paid for one. We then had to pay an Uber and Lyft to get to and from the hotel once they rescheduled the flight for the next day. Because there was only a 30min layover in a huge airport in DC, we decided to check all our bags which was very expensive since there were 4 of us plus a baby. When I called to request a refund, the customer service rep said she didn't do that and to go online. When requesting the refund there, there was no option to refund a different card and the original card used no longer works so even though the status says refunded, it has not been nor have we been reimbursed for any of the extra expenses considering we arrived home 2 days after when we were supposed to.

"this experience at American was the worst experience we have had"

✅ Trip Verified | I am very upset. We had a wagon/stroller that my wife has for our four younger kids. We had six kids and my wife on this flight. We have been using this wagon as a stroller that folds up very nice for a year now on every flight with no issues. The agent at the ticket counter forced my wife to check this $800 stroller and it was damaged. Why in gods green earth would they make her check this and not do a gate check like we normally do. It made this walk through the airport and her connecting flight a disaster due to American Airlines not allowing her to use the wagon/stroller like normal. The agent was very rude and this experience at American was the worst experience we have had in a really long time. I was thoroughly disappointed, it was disrespectful and uncalled for to make any mom with that many kids suffer and not offer any assistance. We won’t be flying American for a very long time, if ever again. I am flying three times a week minimum for work. I will make sure I tell everyone our experience, it’s unacceptable and totally uncalled for. Having a layover in Dallas with six kids, three under four being the only adult with no stroller and one being an infant once again. Unacceptable and uncalled for.
