KLIA Kuala Lumpur Airport

Took a "premium" taxi from my hotel to KLIA. Told the taxi driver Tiger Airways I was dropped-off at KLIA - not LCCT. Inside the info desk was not helpful and said I could not walk to the LCCT - but there was a bus every 30 minutes. I did not have 20-30 minutes so took another premium taxi and arrived at KUL LCCT 3 minutes before check-in cut-off. It was dirty crowded and the signage was poor. It looked and felt like an old train station. I am certain I am not the first passenger to have been dropped-off at the wrong terminal. The airport authority needs to fix this and/or educate taxi drivers.

KLIA is a very well designed airport in terms of interior and exterior. It is very modern and there are many interesting shops. Generally a very well kept and clean airport. Toilets are clean but some were not working. KLIA is the only airport I have been to that offers a premium lounge for economy travellers. The lounge had massage seats wide choice of food and drinks for free Internet access and an indoor mini golf area.

World's best airportsay the signs throughout KLIA. On closer inspection the signs say it was the world's best airport in 2007 for airports handling a rather specific number of passengers each year. Having used Changi and Hong Kong recently I'm afraid KLIA is nowhere near them in terms of quality ease and connecting to the city itself. Why they built this airport so far from KL is beyond me. The airport is uninviting dark and has very few food and duty free shopping options. I can only imagine a long layover at KLIA would be most unpleasant.

Recently boarded a flight in KLIA with Malaysia airlines to Brisbane. We had to wait over 2 hours in a queue for check-in. There were only 3 counters open with people on either side sitting doing nothing. By the time we finally checked in went through immigration and security we had no time for shopping and had to board straight away. I am outraged that an airport with such great facilities can condone such poor standards from the airlines what a disgraceful way to end my holiday.

I think KL Airport is one of the Best in Asia! Arriving was very easy and immigration a breeze. The airport staff are very friendly and helpful. Departing very easy as well. Immigration and security was a breeze and then took the monorail to the Satellite Terminal.

KLIA is a modern spacious airport that is well-run and efficient. Going through immigration was pretty easy. Travel between the main terminal and satellite terminal on the Aerotrain is easy. The restrooms at the satellite were quite clean. Security at the main terminal missed the bottle of water in my carry-on bag although I remembered to finish it as I arrived at the security checkpoint at my gate. Public transportation between the airport and the city centre (at KL Sentral) is not too expensive (RM10 by bus RM35 by express train) and is reasonably fast (an hour by bus 30 minutes by train).

I was in Kuala Lumpur on one day stop over to Perth. I was surprised to see how clean and spacious it was and how friendly staff were. Reasonable prices offered for all different budgets. The mini forest is wonderful. I would like to suggest the airport do more marketing since not many passengers seem aware of what the airport has to offer.

This airport is to avoid for long transit. There are non stop announcements of everything going on in this airport preventing you from taking any kind of rest after a 12hr flight. The airport is below standards of BKK SIN HKG ICN etc and it is so far away from KUL.

Satellite terminal in transit. Compact design an excellent outdoor enclosure in the middle of the terminal. However not nearly enough free Internet access and much of what was there in the way of terminals was not working. Also uncomfortably warm. Would fly through again but not really up to the standard of SIN.

Impressed by its capacity. Night of my departure 12-13 wide bodies had departure within 45 mins not mentioning some local flights. The terminal area is huge and the aisles wide that you had the feeling of an empty airport. Airport public areas are clean so were the private rooms. Plenty of restaurants and many shops. No problems on immigration nevertheless on my arrival flight customs were slow but at least they smiled.
