KLIA Kuala Lumpur Airport

Very nice airport but problems with immigration while going in and out of country. Took 2 hrs to enter Malaysia with about 500 hundred people at immigration with 4-5 staff at counters. Most of the immigration positions were vacant.

When I entered KLIA for the first time I was extremely impressed. This airport is very clean beautifully decorated and user friendly. I just enjoyed the aero train experience the jingle in satellite concourse the shopping food courts and superb staff.

Airport is very clean and spacious with beautiful architecture. Staff were very polite and helpful but time was wasted at immigration followed by long queues and slow wifi. There was acceptable queuing time at check in customs and security Duty free prices are reasonable with a large variety of foods available.

I travelled to Kuala Lumpur in July 2011 and first of all KLIA is very clean and people friendly. I did not have a lot of the queuing issues at immigration and security checking The satellite terminal has a big area to bring the jungle into the airport and the small forest at satellite building is really beautiful. I also could see a lot of resting area and chairs for traveller and all facilities needed just around the corner compared to my previous travel via KLIA in Jan 2011. Finally I would say very stunning airport with excellent customer services.

KLIA is definitely the best airport in the world owing to its excellent architecture professional and caring staff clean and spacious and everything else. On par with Incheon CLK and Changi Asian airport rocks and everyone in their lifetime must see this architectural wonder and feel the warmth of its staff and experience the Asian hospitality. Malaysia is truly Asia starting with its gateway airport.

The airport is great! My mom and I traveled to Kuala Lumpur in March 2011 unfortunately my mom had a fractured heel and the airport staff were very attentive and helpful in accommodating my mother they also offered to re-bandage my mom's heel. They were friendly and always offered help which made my journey easier and less stressed. Plus the immigration runs smoothly and we made in through in no time. I could see a lot of resting area and chairs for traveler and all facilities needed just around the corner. Architectural wise I would say very stunning airport with excellent customer services.

Kuala Lumpur International may not have all the bells and whistles of Singapore or Seoul Incheon but it is a pleasant place to arrive or depart from. The terminal is clean modern and easy to navigate and the fast train gets you from the airport to KL Sentral in around 26mins. Sometimes queues at immigration can be an issue but that is probably the only negative for this airport.

KLIA is very clean and people friendly. The architecture of the terminal and satellite terminal is fun to study while waiting for your flight. Our flight in and out of KLIA was around 10PM for both times we were there. I did not have a lot of the queuing issues mentioned however even being 10PM at night it did take a lot of time to get through departing immigration. The satellite terminal has a big area to bring the jungle into the airport very lush and green for an area usually devoid of plants. Shops seemed to be open at all hours a bit expensive however.

Like many arrivals have complained in recent times immigration has many counters but understaffed - resulting in long line of passengers waiting clearance - although counter officers friendly. This time noted improved transit facilities and many more high quality retail outlets and choice of food especially in satellite terminal. Love how the tropical forest there has grown and now has board walk and water feature. No doubt calming effect for some passengers. KLIA was clean well sign posted and in good shape after 10 years. It deserves the official 4-star rating.

Passed through KLIA four times in May 2011. Overall impression is of a clean functional airport that appears to be built for more passengers. In saying that though it is a great relief that there are not more as the queues are horrendous enough with the passengers they have. For both arrivals and departures the immigration desks are woefully understaffed and it is incredibly slow to get processed. Security was much more efficient and the security guards appeared pleasant and efficient. If airport shopping is your thing there is a good selection though very expensive. Plenty of places to eat too though not very cheap and they seem to be scattered all over the terminal as opposed to being in one central location. Getting to and from KL to the airport is a breeze on the KLIA express. Much more relaxing than the highway.
