"plenty of room to spread out"

(Philippines)

Verified Review | Bangkok to Oslo. Connecting flight from Manila little delay from Bangkok aircraft nice and new but same issue as when we arrived we had to bus to the other side of the terminal to board the aircraft it was not such a busy time of night but to transfer from gate to aircraft should be no need with such a modern airport. Sitting far down the back, plenty of room to spread out had a whole row to myself which was good to stretch out entertainment system good as overall new aircraft. Crew effective and friendly but the let down was the meal - a pasta salad, pork stew, dessert was good. The breakfast was poor Thai has stopped with salt and pepper so no chance to get a little flavor out from the meal. It was a long flight so a good meal would of made it perfect

"excellent, attentive service"

(Germany)

Verified Review | Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur. Excellent, attentive service for a short flight of just over 2 hours. The cabin was clean, the food was very good by airline standards, and the selection of on-board entertainment appropriate. The seats have a bit more legroom than some of the regional competitors. As a tall person I noticed that as soon as I took my seat.

"I had a good experience"

(India)

Bangkok to Chiang Mai with Thai Airways. Well this was not my best experience with Thai but it certainly gave me a smile when I left. A layover of 3hr and my family and I rested at the lounge at Bangkok domestic terminal - quite frankly speaking it is not as bad as people say it is. We had a great time there. As I entered the aircraft I was kind of downcast as they used an older version. The seats were pretty old and had no IFE. But the crew, they were so friendly that I forgot. The Land of Smiles, true. The flight is a short one but you'll be pleased if you fly Business. Overall I had a good experience.

"food good and seat comfortable"

(Japan)

Verified Review | Bangkok to Tokyo Narita. The flight was delayed because many connecting passengers landed late in Bangkok. The crew was friendly and helpful and the aircraft was clean. "they should inform passengers"

(Japan)

Verified Review | Night flight out of Vientiane to Bangkok. The flight was delayed for almost an hour and many passengers including me had a very tight connection in Bangkok. No explanation was given in Vientiane airport. Onboard, no announcement from the captain nor the crew about the delay. No apologies. Asked the one of the crew and found out that all the weather was bad in Bangkok so the incoming flight was delayed. I understand this is unavoidable but at least they should inform the passengers of the reason. The only thing nice was the food.

Verified Review | Short hop from Bangkok to Vientiane on the old Boeing 737-400. The flight was full as usual and delayed for about half an hour. Service was inconsistent as usual. Some flight attendant was really nice and some was not friendly. The food was surprisingly good for this short flight.

"crew were really professional"

(Japan)

Verified Review | Tokyo Haneda to Bangkok on the Boeing 747-400. There was a group of really loud and drunk men who were literally shouting to each other. However, the crew were really professional and warned them about their unruly behavior. They were quiet and behaved after that. The food was good and the seat was okay. IFE was great as well.

"below what I was expecting"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | Bangkok to London. The service fell far below what I was expecting. On this return flight, the stewardess made as little eye contact as possible, was churlish and off hand, to the extent of being rude. The meals were adequate, but lukewarm, and during this long flight no additional drinks were offered. If I went up to the galley I was shooed out, and the requested drink would eventually be delivered. If I attenpted to order via the call button, the response just as unfriendly. This attitude was prevalent throughout the cabin crew, from thr CSD down. The choice of film and tv very limited to anything recent. A very poor selection. Seats were comfortable, and information from flight deck good. Check in efficient. Upon return, however, my soft sided case was wet inside, and had obviously been left uncovered in the rain at Bangkok.

"crew was friendly and helpful"

(Malaysia)

Verified Review | Penang to London Heathrow via Bangkok. Started the journey off on its subsidiary airline Thai Smile in Penang where the boarding pass provided was nothing different than a restaurant receipt, the ground staff said the new system has yet arrived in Penang, hence they could not reprint the boarding pass. As Flew in Smile Plus, no difference between normal seats except being seperated by a curtain with the rest of the seat. Upon arrival at Bangkok, I went to the Royal Orchid Spa for my free massage, it was very good. The only downside is that it was only 30 minutes, you should add more ground services for business class passengers. Next, was the Royal Silk Lounge, it was average, buffet food. It was disappointing to be honest, I expected more from an international business class lounge. In flight, the cabin crew was friendly and helpful. Probably one of the airline with the best cabin crew. The food was very good, and in flight snacks as well. The seat was very good as well as the Amenity kit. Will definitely consider flying with Thai Airways again, but hopefully they'll upgrade their Royal Silk Lounge in Bangkok.

"service is average "

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | Boeing 777 from Bangkok to London Heathrow. Seat pitch is cramped and stuffy in economy with very little breathing space, in a 3-3-3 seat configuration - a person of 178+cm will find their knees locked into the next seat and uncomfortable once the front passenger reclines. USB socket in the seats in front but no power socket underneath chair. Slow boarding as the plane waited on a group of late arrivers on a transit flight - no announcement or apology made and we arrived one hour late. Entertainment is a decent sized tv with Hollywood movies. Food average and no snack bar - just water and juices available. Toilets were not regularly cleaned and towards end of flight were unacceptably dirty. Service is average - nothing to complain but nothing to praise.

"you had to ask for everything"

(Australia)

Verified Review | Bangkok to London. This was the poorest flight from Thai Airways I have experienced. It was in marked contrast to the dozens I have taken over the past 30 years. The flight was 7 hours late and we were put up in the BKK Transit Hotel, this was fine although the hotel is pretty humble. The lounge prior to boarding in the A concourse was looking scuffed and it was crowded, food was not great but coffee and fruit were fine. Delays at the gate as well but so far was still in reasonable spirits. The A380 seats aren't the best but at east all offer aisle access. In the air the meals were reversed with breakfast first given the delay this was now a day flight instead of a night one. Crew were unresponsive and glum looking. Breakfast was very overcooked, had to ask for everything including missing cutlery. Two cracked and chipped glasses offered, one badly cracked showed lack of care and any inspection. They were genuinely apologetic when this was pointed out but this was a rare show of passenger focus. Did not see crew at all during the majority of the flight for any period of time between meals, water was replenished once. Dinner was not heated at all and asked for it to be reheated as it was inedible. No pre-dinner drinks, offered one drink with dinner, never saw any offer of any top ups in cabin to any other passengers. Not offered water with dinner. Drinks were replenished on request. In general I felt that you had to ask for everything, there was no anticipation of passenger need. We wanted the flight to be over as quickly as possible, an unusual response to business class. I wondered if the feeling of grief over the recent loss of their King may have had an impact. Would still recommend Thai and hope that our next flights are better with them.

Bangkok to London. Excellent service from Thai Airways, they tick all the right boxes and do it right. Cabin staff were first rate. The only let down was the very poor selection of films, and they need to do more here as a 12 hour flight is a long time. All in all would recommend Thai Airways, well done

"food was unpalatable"

(Australia)

Verified Review | I am a Platinum member with Thai Airways. I was travelling with my wife with Thai airways from Sydney to Shanghai via Bangkok, returning from Dhaka on business class between September 2016 to October 2016 for holidays. This review is for one particular flight experience from Bangkok to Sydney on TG 475 business class. At the check in counter in Bangkok, I requested the staff not to provide a seat near the toilet. She told me my assigned seat (upper deck front seats) is not next to toilet. On boarding we found our seats to be next to toilet and had to endure passengers frequently visiting toilets and suffering bad smell wafting every time some one coming out of the toilet. Also we experienced a rude steward who was unprofessional with a number of passengers including us (like serving with a glum face and shoving foods etc. At least 6 passengers complained about his behaviour. We talked to a senior staff and the said steward offered apology. The food in the business class was unpalatable - I ordered a lasagne and it was totally uneatable.

"food is at best average"

(United Kingdom)

Munich to Melbourne via Bangkok with Thai Airways. Disaster of a plane. This B747 must be 30 years old. Outdated seats (no flat sleeping), not enough room for hand luggage in business class (they wanted me to bring my luggage downstairs to another seat and refused to put it into luggage space in upper deck). Food is at best average. Very limited selection and not high quality. Female staff are nice but males seem to be ex Thai military. No wonder these planes are half empty. Never again.

"I was made very welcome"

(Hong Kong)

Verified Review | Hong Kong to Sydney via Bangkok. It is the first time I flew Thai Airways first class long hauln. Due to aircraft type, I had to fly the evening flight, the only one fitted with first class. An overnight stay was necessary, but complimentary airport hotel stay was arranged. Service and food were lovely from HKG to BKK. Next day, I went to the first class lounge for a fabulous lunch, an hour free massage. I spent a few hours at the lounge before being escorted onboard. I was made very welcome. Gorgeous Rimova toiletry bag and nice pyjama provided. The spacious seat provides good privacy and a huge table for dining and work. A lovely 5 course dinner was served, the usual caviar and Dom Perignon champagne. They offer to make the bed for you when it's time for rest, I was able to get 2-3 hours of shut eyes. Breakfast spread was huge and full of choices. I chose the Chinese congee. Plane arrived on time, fast track card provided. My luggage was amongst the first to appear, I am very happy with their service and food. The price of this ticket was only equivalent to HKG to SYD direct on business with another big carrier.

"would highly recommend"

(United Kingdom)

Guangzhou to London via Bangkok. Have always used Thai Airways for my annual Jan/Feb holiday to Thailand to escape China and the Chinese New Year. Have always enjoyed their flights and they have recently begun to upgrade planes from older A330s to B777 on many Asia regional routes. I flew from CAN to BKK on a new B777, good ground service, comfortable seat next to exit for my height, good IFE with plenty of choice and the food and drink was very good value for money, no complaints. Transit in BKK was well organized and not too long with no delays. For the BKK to LHR leg we were on an A380, the cabin was large and spacious and I was again allocated a seat with extra legroom, found the service on the long-haul to be just as good even with more passengers. Overall would highly recommend - especially for tourists as they are mostly catering to tourists especially for long-haul routes so you'all find plenty of tourist literature and information on the IFE before you land.

"recommend travel with Thai Airways"

Verified Review | I was looking for a one-way airline ticket from Tokyo to London and decided to fly with Thai Airways. I was excited because the aircraft was A380. I was surprised with beautiful uniforms, there was a good sized TV screen and great films. Meal was also fantastic - on the way to London from Bangkok I missed a meal as I was sleeping, but I was hungry so asked a cabin crew for my food, and be brought a warm meal. "service was prompt and friendly"

(Thailand)

Verified Review | Flew from Bangkok to Chengdu. Check in as quick and friendly. Security and immigration lines were short for BKK so we arrived at the gate early. Thai tends to lose control of the boarding sequence. Not really a bad thing as tests show that open boarding is the most efficent. The cabin crew were gracious and helpful as we boarded. A crew member offerd us exit row seats just before departure. A very kind offer giving us unlimited leg room. Our vegetarian meals were tasty and suitable for a three hour sector. Service was prompt and friendly. The majority of our fellow passengers were members of two Chinese tour groups. Although the groups were a little excited and not used to air travel the crew managed with good natured ease to getting the passengers seated etc. Excellent job.

"worst experience with Thai"

(Thailand)

Verified Review | Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok on September 30th has been the worst experience with Thai Airways so far. Due to late arrival at KLIA, the boarding didn't commence on time, and on top of that, they announced some sort of unspecified technical problem which eventually delayed the flight by over one and a half hour. During the flight, there was no apology from the cabin crew, just a casual mention from the Captain about the delay mid-flight. Onboard meal is nothing to write home about these days, but it's an airline meal in economy class so what do you expect. Upon delayed landing, the aircraft taxied to the far end of the airport without any gate and sat on tarmac for another 20 minutes or so. 200+ passengers had to get to terminal by bus, just after midnight. Many passengers on this flight missed their next connecting flight to elsewhere. The misery did not end there yet. They announced onboard that the baggage collection carousel was number 11, but in fact, all luggage were put on carousel 23. Passengers were waiting near carousel 11 for a long time until a few of us checked again and informed all.

"biggest disappointment was the food"

(Thailand)

What has happened to the excellent Thai Airways service and food? I was excited to be using a Dreamliner for the first time flying from Bangkok to Brisbane. I was very impressed with the quietness in the cabin, the seating and the tricky window tinting. I was also looking forward to some good Thai Airways service and food after using budget airlines on this route for a couple of years. I realize that cabin staff can have a bad day and the crew were efficient but it wasn't what I remember Thai airways service to be. But my biggest disappointment was the food.

Verified Review | Colombo to Sydney via Bangkok. Departure from Colombo was ontime, soon after take off I managed to sleep for about an hour before dinner was served. An indian chicken curry with rice and vegies accompanied by a coffee mousse cake and tea/coffee, didn't really like the chicken but it was ok, seat was comfortable and crew were attentive. Bangkok to Sydney on an old Boeing 747, push back was 45 mins delayed due to air traffic control. Peanuts and drinks served soon after take off. I had ordered a Muslim meal which consisted an indian style chicken kafta in sauce with rice pilaf, prawn and asparagus salad, dessert was a fruit truffle accompanied by tea and coffee. Dinner wasn't too bad but could be better. Breakfast was served an hour before arrival which had the standard scrambled eggs, tomato, mushrooms, croissant, jam/ butter, fruit yogurt, juice and tea/coffee. Seats on the Boeing 747 aren't very comfortable. I couldn't sleep. Entertainment was ok. Thai Airways needs to upgrade aircraft on the Sydney route to an A380.

"can only recommend Thai Airways"

(Switzerland)

Verified Review | Bangkok to Milan. Thai Smile and great Thai Food! On the last leg of my travel to Australia a had the old 747 Jumbo, travelled in Upper Deck. In this 747 configuration the space for hand luggage was very limited, but the crew was aware of that and helped every one in a very efficient way to store the luggage and all with a Thai Smile and efficiently. This crew made all the difference to my previous 3 flight experiences on my way to Australia and back to Europe. All crew members, but especially the crew director on the Upper Deck, did the Extra Mile for every passenger and always with a great and genuine Thai Smile. Even the seat was not so uncomfortable anymore. And the Thai Food was one of the best I had on a plane: beautifully presented, fresh and hot when it was supposed to be hot (in temperature and taste). Based on this flight experience one can only recommend Thai Airways for future travel.

"disappointing seating"

(Switzerland)

Verified Review | Milan to Brisbane via Bangkok. First leg on old Boeing 747 in upper deck: a lot of space, quite and good storage room; the bathroom small but always clean. Food was pre-ordered and was very disappointing: half cold, overcooked and pretty bad presentation. The crew was not efficient, not friendly but rather arrogant - not the famous Thai Smile. The seats were old, not comfortable and no flat bed. Entertainment was pretty basic, not Business Class Standard in 2016. Second Leg from Bangkok to Brisbane in new Boeing 787. Very disappointing seating for a new aircraft with a 2:2:2 configuration in a row, so no free aisle access from the window. The seat was more comfortable then the old Boeing 747 and provided a flat bed. Food and service as on the first leg was very disappointing.

It was good. The crew were friendly and offered water and drinks throught the flight. Seat was not very comfortable, very cramped, Thai Airways should upgrade this route to a A380 or an A350. "poor Thai Airways experience"

(United States)

Verified Review | This past year a friend and I booked travel on Thai Airways to get from Phnom Penh to Luang Prabang via Bangkok. Although we could have saved money by taking the same route on Bangkok Airways, we chose Thai for its reputation and service record. A few months after we booked our tickets, Thai discontinued their flights from Bangkok to Luang Prabang, our destination. Yet remarkably, although the airline reached us easily via email and had all our contact numbers upon our initial purchase, no one from the airline contacted us when the flight from BKK to LPQ was discontinued. When we checked in at the airport in Phnom Penh for the first leg of our trip (TG 581), and we asked for boarding passes through to LPQ, both the check-in agent and her manager simply shrugged and said they were "not available.” Arriving into BKK and looking for the now-disappeared TG 576, we were grateful to be handled by an admirably competent Transfer Desk Agent who spent half an hour rebooking us onto a later Bangkok Airways flight. She was the only bright light in an otherwise poor Thai Airways experience. We arrived late into LPG and poorer for having overspent on tickets with an airline that wasn't concerned about honoring them by keeping us informed. Multiple emails to Thai Airways over the past three months, asking for a refund in the difference in fares, or maybe just a basic apology for a remarkable oversight, have gone unanswered.

"never been more happy in economy"

(Thailand)

Bangkok to Tokyo Haneda. Flew Thai Airways instead of taking a flight in business class with a connection because of my schedule requirement. Took the risk of flying economy class. Instead, I have never been more happy in economy before. At check in, the staff was nice and fast but seemed inexperienced. But that's just a small problem in an amazing flight. I reserved a seat during check in which was a window seat with my mum, but I found out there was no window and immediately complained to the purser who sorted out the problem as soon as the flight was boarded. The seat was really comfortable seats with a PTV and footrests. The 34' legroom is excellent, no need for an exit row. The plane was delayed due to a door fault, but the purser kept us informed. The food was plentiful, and above expectations, but was only served one meal and several drink rounds. Instead of having to call a flight attendant for a drink, I was awake so she was able to spot me and asked me what drink I wanted. I enjoyed every moment of this flight. Attentive crew doing drink rounds every half hour, and a comfortable (enough) flight. Much above expectations. However, my mum's bag arrived when the business class bags arrived, but my bag arrived almost twenty minutes later! Still, doesn't bother me that much. If you want to fly cheap and still get good service, fly Thai. All the flight attendants were professional. I will try Thai's business class in the future when I get enough miles to upgrade.

"one of the flight attendants not friendly"

(Canada)

Verified Review | Bangkok to Seoul. I have flown Thai Airways numerous times over the last 4 years. They have had nothing but my respect for the quality of service provided, friendliness and excellent flying experience. On this past trip I flew with them from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and then Chiang Mai to Bangkok and on to Seoul. On August 26 the flight was delayed leaving Chiang Mai by 10 minutes. The connection time in Bangkok was only scheduled to be 1 hour which made the connection tight and tighter with the delay. Upon arriving in Bangkok there was a line up for transit security however it moved along fairly well. Because of the delay I boarded with everyone else and that was no a problem for me. As I was seated one of the flight attendants was clearly not amused or friendly that I had not been seated before. That Thai friendliness and welcome was not there. A few minutes later as we were taxing for take off the youngest of the flight attendants in business aggressively and rudely barged in to the space in front of my seat and grabbed pillows and rudely announced that they were going in the overhead bin. I have never experienced such rudeness from one of the Thai flight attendants before. This same flight attendant repeated her performance prior to landing in Seoul. I coupled that with the lack of welcome and friendliness upon being seated and it was not the greatest of experiences with Thai this time on that flight. If they were not pleased with the tight connection and my inability to be earlier to my seat, then they should take that up with their airline and not blame me. As for the other flight attendant with the rudeness, she needs to be more familiar with appropriate etiquette. The quality of food, cleanliness of the aircraft were of the same very high quality that I have come to know and appreciate with Thai. Hopefully those 2 flight attendants will not be on my next flight. I can only give a 6 on this rating because of those two persons.

"I would entirely recommend Thai Airways "

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | We were excited to know that we would be flying on Thai Airways A380 from London to Bangkok in July 2016. Boarding was organised very well at LHR and once onboard, staff were friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The aircraft was clean and presentable. Service was great, food was enjoyable and drinks were offered regularly. After an enjoyable 12 hour flight, we stopped in Bangkok where we waited for our connecting flight to Phuket. We boarded an old B777, the aircraft was dirty and needed a good deep clean. The flight was only 1 hour, and the crew did a good job serving everyone a snack and a few drinks before clearing away rubbish within the one hour flight. So far, a good experience with Thai Airways. On our return flight to LHR, we boarded a cleaner A330 aircraft to Bangkok. The crew on this part of our journey back home weren't so friendly, having been cabin crew myself for many years I believe it's important to be friendly and approachable when working in a customer service role. Boarding the A380 at Bangkok for our return flight to LHR was a pleasant experience, we were upgraded to emergency exit seats at check in due to my partner being 6ft 6 which was very nice of the agent. I was flabbergasted to find that the crew moved a family of six which included three young children under 5 into the emergency exit seats next to us, who were nothing but disturbing for at least 6 hours of the flight home. The adults could not control their young children! This family even had the cheek to moan about the cabin crew, who may have been slightly miserable but were still working hard to serve everyone as quick as possible. Many people were disturbed by this family, and I was disappointed as they could have moved this family elsewhere into other empty seats towards the rear, other airlines do not allow under 16s into exit seats due to emergency reasons so I was extremely surprised to learn Thai Airways have different rules. Other than the disturbances, I would entirely recommend Thai Airways especially if you will be flying on their amazing A380!

"cabin service was mixed"

(Australia)

Flew from Bangkok to Copenhagen. The aircraft on this route was excellent, with what seems to be a freshly updated cabin with lighter tones than previously experienced, giving a feel of space. The seating layout is perfect, with all seats having aisle access. For couples, every second row of middle seats are together. Seats are completely lie flat and good room and width. The seat controls are among the best I have seen, and are built into the table next to the seat, so close to operate, and far enough away not to knock while asleep. Food was an improvement over previous experiences on Thai, but not brilliant. Cabin service was mixed - the head steward introduced himself individually to all passengers which was a nice touch. Very high quality product, up against stiff competition in that part of the world.

"more recline than other airlines"

(Germany)

First time on Thai Airways from Frankfurt to Bangkok and vv on a business trip to Asia. Check-in in Frankfurt was fast and friendly. Boarding could be more efficient would they really enforce the boarding by rows. Inflight service came fast. They offered to refill the drinks 4 times. For each sector of the coach cabin they have a seperate cabin crew serving the sector. So after 1hour 15minutes after take off the trays were cleared. Some other airlines did not start service until than. Seat is comfortable with enough width (I am 186cm tall) and more recline than other airlines. The inflight entertainment could offer more German videos on this route perhaps too much for the Asian taste. Breakfast was also served very fast. After some waiting time at immigration in Thailand the bags were on the belt. In general nothing to complain. Almost same experience on the way back so I would certainly recommend this airline to South East Asia. Would also mention that both flight departed on time. The return flight arrived 15 min early in Frankfurt.

"inflight service was top"

(Germany)

Verified Review | Thai Airways from Munich to Bangkok, and was fully booked. The inflight service was top. Flight started on time and arrived 40 min early. Bangkok to Phuket was on an aging Boeing 777, but seats were very comfortable and spacious. Service top again. Return from Phuket to Bangkok was on a brand new Boeing 777-300 ER. Top service and ontime performance again, and from Bangkok to Munich on a Boeing 747-400 arrived 20 min early.

"warning to my fellow passengers"

(France)

I had booked and paid tickets on Thai Airways to fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and the reservation did show the TG letters in front of the flight number. Being a Star Alliance Gold card when I checked in at the business counter I was refused the 20kg additional luggage allowance we are entitled to. And also told the flight would not give mileage. Explanation: this is a Thai Smiles filght, the supposedly low cost airline subsidiary of Thai. This is totally dishonest as this subsidiary of TG has as two letter code WE. I have flown on many low cost subsidiaries of major airlines, but all are coded under different 2 letters. So warning to my fellow passengers.

"inflight service was very disappointing"

(United Arab Emirates)

Verified Review | Bangkok to Tokyo Narita. I reached the airport a bit early and the First class check in counters were not open as apparently they open up only after the lounge opens at 5.10 am. Anyway the staff were nice and check in was done in the First class area while the staff offered us cold towels and water. You have a separate area for security and immigration for premium passengers and we were taken to our lounge on a buggy! The lounge staff greeted us in typical Thai hospitality and offered a selection of breakfast items from an i-pad menu. We also had one hour free usage of spa services which was excellent. the flight was slightly delayed and the pilot kept us informed. However the inflight service was very disappointing for First Class. A very limited menu for a 6 hour flight and they ran out of choices very soon. Something which should not happen in First really. Crew were ever so gracious but that does not serve it purpose really. Seats are comfortable and the amenity bag was very good. Toilet was spacious and well maintained and they offered free WiFi cards for usage of 20 mb. If only the catering could have been of a higher level then this flight would have been exemplary.

"a great experience"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | London to Bangkok return with Thai Airways. I had 2 great flights. The departures were on time, and IFE was quite impressive. As an aviation enthusiast, the A380 includes a tail camera and Thai lets passengers watch this camera on their own screen. The seats and cabin was very clean, all the items where in the seat pouch along with the Thai magazine. I reclined my seat and stayed asleep from the edge of Thailand till we entered Russian airspace. This meant that the cabin crew did not wake or disturb anyone, and the seats were very comfortable. The IFE movies were an OK selection. The IFE map was also standard. The food on the way to Thailand was tasty, I had chicken with fried rice, it was excellent! I tried a fruit platter on the way home and the fruit was a little dry however, but the croissant made up for it. Overall, I would really recommend Thai airways (especially on A380 routes) for long haul flights. I am yet to try the short haul with Thai. Thank you for a great experience!

"the crew were extremely nice"

(United Arab Emirates)

Verified Review | Osaka to Bangkok was my first time flying in First Class on Thai Airways and it was quite disappointing. The lounge in Osaka Kansai is really bad and has nothing to offer except for good view of the tarmac. The A380 seats were worn out, but the saving grace were the crew who were extremely nice. What surprised me most was that the menu of Business class was better than the one in First from every aspect. The toilet of the A380 is extremely spacious and well kept. Upon arrival we were treated to an additional perk of being met airside and taken in a buggy to the immigration where we were escorted through a separate fats lane. At that busy hour with horrendous queues at immigration this made a huge difference really.

"fairly good value for money"

(Australia)

Verified Review | Good service on board, comfortable seats. Food was excellent (dinner) from Paris, starters, salmon with a nice hollandaise, desert, everything was excellent. I would not say the same about my food experience on my way to Paris from Bangkok. It tasted like low cost economy class food at best. Breakfast was particularly bad, never had such bad "scrambled eggs" in my life, dry, tasteless, obviously made from processed eggs. Coffee on Thai is not to my taste at all. This time I skipped breakfast. This being said, when bought at a competitive price, Thai is fairly good value for money on their new fleet of 777 and 380.

Verified Review | Auckland to Calcutta via Bangkok with Thai Airways. AKL to BKK flight was around 12hours, food, cabin crew were excellent. Again the entertainment system was a big miss, the plane was old but clean and in excellent condition. Flight on time. (India)

Verified Review | Calcutta to Auckland via Bangkok. Another excellent flight with Thai, ordered low sodium meal this time which was great on both flights, cabin crews were friendly and smiling, entertainment system is one area they need to work on, small screen, limited movies/tv shows, both flights were late by around half an hour which i guess i alright, i checked online and book the second last row, and fortunately I had the whole rows to myself on both flights! Lots of water/juice rounds, light refreshments / drinks at the galley as well. Would definitely fly them again. Their planes look old?

"gladly fly with them again"

(Philippines)

Verified Review | Bangkok to Manila with Thai Airways. Boarding was OK. Ground and flight crew were very courteous and professional. During the flight, my unruly seatmate was noisily complaining about the coldness of the cabin (I felt it was too warm) throughout the flight and the stewardess handled it coolly and professionally. Kudos to her. Anyway, seats were comfy and the in-flight entertainment was actually good, with a wide selection of movies and music. The LCD screen on my flight out was iffy, but worked fine during the end of the flight. But the panel on my return flight home worked OK. Comfort rooms were clean and good, completely equipped with everything from seat covers to soap to some perfume/spray as a courtesy to the next user. In-flight food and service was really good, hot and tasty. All in all, a really great airline and would gladly fly with them again on my next business trip!

Boarding was prompt and very organised. Thai Airways flight from Bangkok to Phuket was operated by a RollsRoyce powered A330-343X (HS-TEO) which was very clean and well maintained. Very professional crew throughout the flight and an update from the cockpit prior departure and whilst on route. Crews on both flights were excellent, and on the longer flight to AKL, even chat with some of the crews, who were friendly and giving me suggestions on places to visit while in NZ. I had pre ordered low sodium meal which were both excellent on both the flights. Entertainment - movies/tv serials were okay. Thai Airways, 747 aircraft Sydney to Bangkok return and A380 Bangkok to London return. All flights were very good. Check in very efficient and friendly in all airports. Boarding of aircraft handled really well and with no fuss. All aircraft's were spotlessly clean. 747s although old were retrofitted on the inside with latest product. A380 aircraft very new. Seats very comfortable with excellent legroom for economy and good width and recline. Crew very professional on all flights. 2 hot meals served on all flights. Portion sizes small but quality very good. 2 meal choices for each meal service. Inflight entertainment shown via large screen and on demand. Selection reasonable certainly not the content of airlines like Emirates or Singapore Airlines, but enough choice of movies, tvs, music and games. Toilets kept very clean on all flights. Drinks and snacks served throughout the flights. Very impressed with the quality and consistency of Thai economy class and would highly recommend

Verified Review | I'm a Star Alliance Gold member taking First Class from Paris to Bangkok in Apr 2016 with my 4 year old son. The onboard experience was not what we were expecting. There was a lack of foods and drinks and it was difficult to get crew attentions - most of the requests were forgotten. Our prior foods request were abandoned - front areas access limitation (front FC toilet, walkway, and lounge) requested for all other 15 first class passengers with only one back toilet. We had 2nd meal during the flight as it's dinner time in Paris, my boy got a plate of omelette and I got a bowl of noodle. I was having a bad choice to select Thai Airways.

"service was impeccable"

Hong Kong to Perth via Bangkok with Thai Airways. First sector was on A330, fairly comfortable seat although it's not the newest and angle lie-flat. For a short flight it's fine. Service is courteous and efficient. Plenty of drink rounds, warm and cool towels etc. Meals were of small portion but taste fine (Thai choice). On arrival in BKK, I used the smaller TG lounge at concourse E, it's relatively small and crowded, but still find seats. Onward journey on 787, a great plane with flat bed seat. It's only half full so very comfortable. Once again, service was impeccable and enthusiastic. Food was of small portion again. Served a second meal which was just fruits and sandwiches. Being a short 6 hour flight, I slept for about 2 hours, plane arrived slightly early. For the price I paid, I was satisfied with everything. If there is only one gripe, it's that both flights were parked on the tarmac instead of aero-bridge, we had to be bussed. Being back in their home base, this is quite a bad surprise. If in rainy weather, it could be quite troublesome. I feel this is their way of cutting costs here and there.

"attentive and professional crew"

(Thailand)

Verified Review | TG671 from Sapporo to Bangkok on 8th May in business class. All is fine and near perfect except for a few issues for improvement. The IFE on my seat 15J is quite annoying since its volume always becomes louder after each inflight announcement by the crew and I had to adjust it every time after each announcement. Also, my wife's request for an additional pillow was turned down with a reason that it is a full flight and there is no spare pillow! The outbound Bangkok to Sapporo TG670 on 2nd May was perfect with attentive and professional crew. Thanks.

"no individual inflight entertainment"

Verified Review | Jakarta to Bangkok 3.5 hr flight, and no individual inflight entertainment. I had booked my flight and specifically chosen Thai Airways because of its superior selection of movies and other entertainment compared to Garuda Indonesia. Thai Airways should provide information to its customers which flights have inflight entertainment and which flights don't.

"cost of ticket is expensive"

(Thailand)

Verified Review | Thai Airways from Bangkok to Paris return. Flight was on time and boarding was done quite fast. The cabin staff on the way to Paris were fine, food was poor quality, seat was fine and enough space for my legs. On the way back to Bangkok, staff were not as nice and food was worse. Where was the famous Thai smile? The only good thing about this flight is because its direct. The cost of ticket is expensive compared with other airlines.

"very recommended airline"

(Indonesia)

Verified Review | I flew on a Thai Airways Boeing 777-200 from Jakarta to Bangkok return. The ground service was good, an on time departure, the flight was only 2h 55m. Cabin crew very polite and smile to us, the meal is delicious, but the inflight entertainment from Bangkok to Jakarta can't be used. Inflight duty free but not many items are sold. But overall is good, very recommended airline.

"staff were all smiles"

(New Zealand)

Verified Review | Flew Thai Airways from Auckland to Bangkok. The aircraft was a 777-200 and seating was 3-3-3. The flight was not too full and there were plenty of vacant seats at the back. Leg room was better then I expected and the IFE was quite good, a fair selection of movies and TV shows. Kept us entertained throughout our 11hr flight. The staff were all smiles and very attentive. We were served lunch a couple hours out of Auckland and we loved the Thai and Asian food served, so delicious and good portions, white wine and red wine offered. Dinner was also delicious. The toilets were clean and tidy. This was one of our best flights in economy.

Verified Review | Rome to Melbourne via Bangkok with Thai Airways, and a great experience. Comfortable seats with heaps of legroom. I'm 6 feet tall and still had inches between my knees and the seats in front. Very friendly cabin crew, food was delicious (choose the Thai food option). This has got to be one of the best economy class offerings around at the moment. I will certainly fly Thai again.

"food was again great"

(Sri Lanka)

Verified Review | Colombo to Shanghai via Bangkok on Thai Airways. Our request to have seats together at the check in counter was ignored and me and my family had to exchange our seats. The crew were rude on both the flights from CMB to BKK and BKK to PVG. One of the attendants just threw a hot towel at me in a hurry to distribute them. The only thing I found pleasant about this flight was the food as it was really filling and the dessert was superb. The return flight from Beijing to Colombo was a pleasant experience. Good legroom and unlike the previous flights the crew were very friendly and helpful. The food was again great with a traditional Thai mango dessert which was delicious. The only drawback was the IFE as It didn't have enough options to choose from. What keeps me away from flying Thai again is the attitude of the cabin crew.

"service is inconsistent"

(Myanmar)

Verified Review | In general, these were excellent flights from Yangon to Auckland via Bangkok, though as always, service on Thai Airways is inconsistent. For 3 of the 4 flights, the crew were friendly, engaging and clearly enjoying their work. Service was attentive and very responsive. From AKL-BKK, it seemed that all the cabin crew were a bit under the weather; there were no smiles, service was robotic, the galleys were empty on a few occasions, and the toilets were the dirtiest I have ever seen on TG (they are usually spotless and frequently cleaned). It seemed that they had all slipped off to sleep somewhere. Apart from this, the food was good on all legs, as was the selection of alcohol. IFE selection was varied and generally worked well, with the occasional hiccup. All flights on time, and were very comfortable; the 777-200ER has very generous legroom in economy class.

"served individually"

(France)

It seems that Thai Airways is experimenting a new way to serve meals in C class between Paris and Bangkok. Instead of using a trolley, each passenger is served their meal individually, and it takes a lot of time to serve 62 passengers. I had to wait 1h 45 after take off to get my first meal. Returning from BKK I decided to get the snack instead of the dinner to avoid waiting. The staff is running, stressed and you can feel it.

"the fare was good value"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | Thai Airways use a fairly new B777 on this London to Bangkok route and the fare was good value, cheaper than EVA. A surprise how good Thai Airways are, modern Boeing 777, big IFE screens, better food than EVA and more generous with drink, the stewardesses ensure window blinds are kept firmly down during flight hours. A male steward put my duty free in the fridge. At check-in offered a seat with space to stretch out;, I would say EVA Air marginally beats Thai for leg space and pitch. If Thai Airways could offer premium/economy with extra legroom it would be the icing on the cake.

"food was very tasty"

(United States)

Verified Review | A great experience from check-in, a clean and well stocked lounge, and the 30 minute spa experience was welcome after a long trip. The A380 staggered business seats are one of the most comfortable in the sky. Pre departure beverage service was prompt, Vueve in a flute glass. Menus at seats, and was able to postpone service until I had a few hours of sleep. FA was at my seat when I awoke, provided water and inquired if I now wanted to eat. I was then served my meal order from prior to my sleep. Food was very tasty and seasoned. The cabin and restrooms were well maintained.

"professionalism of the crew"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | London to Bangkok return. Having used most Gulf based airlines when flying to and from South East Asia over the past three years, accepting the inevitable transfer time-wait until the next leg, I thought it was time to experience a change. So, for my recent flight from London to Bangkok, I booked with Thai Airways which now operates the A380 – and of course, flies non-stop. Travel to Heathrow by road from my home in Mid Essex, is always a bit of a gamble with regards to allowing sufficient time to arrive. The now ubiquitous delays on the M25 have to be allowed for, which I did on this occasion and reached Terminal 2 just before 0800hrs, for my scheduled departure at 11.50hrs. To my disappointment and surprise when presenting myself at the check-in desk, was being told that the flight would not now depart until around 15.30hrs. 'Late coming in from Bangkok', was the reason. That I had not ben informed of this long delay, was irritating, as my personal contact details were available to them. Putting all this behind me (but not looking forward to waiting around the airport for almost 8 hours) I spent the time as constructively as possible, particularly sending notifications to the Bangkok car airport transfer company, the hotel I'd reserved and the company with whom I had an appointment the following morning. Once on board, it was immediately apparent that the cabin crew were well trained, polite and helpful. The A380 aircraft is a big beast and the internal configuration design is appealing. Long haul flights like this one exceeding 11 hours, are never easy to bear but I have to say that Thai Airways have provided all possible features and amenities to soften this burden. My seat was as good as it gets, the entertainment system worked perfectly with plenty of choice - and all meals served to a good standard. Noticeably, a press of the seat call button produced an immediate appearance of a member of the cabin crew, an occurrence not always experienced when flying with some airlines. The plane actually made up a little time, which meant arrival at Bangkok was three hours behind schedule. So, as to the flight itself, I have no complaints, rather to compliment the professionalism of the crew for making it as comfortable as possible. With my Asian itinerary completed, it was time to return to the UK. On arrival at the Thai Airways desk, I was extremely pleased to be offered a space available cabin upgrade. The return journey is always some hour+ longer than the outward leg, so lounging on a wide seat, sipping champagne and nibbling caviar-covered biscuits, is not to be sneezed at. Such an upgrade was especially welcome, as I had suffered an injury to my left ankle. Once again, I found the crew's performance to be as first class as the cabin and after eating, I extended my seat, snuggled under a blanket and slept for almost six hours. In summary, both flights were seamless and comfortable. They get a ten out of ten from me. Had the Heathrow departure debacle not occurred, the entire experience would have gained the same marks.

"lack of organisation"

(Singapore)

Verified Review | Our flight from Sapporo to Bangkok on 1st April was late into Bangkok. We had a 55 min connection to catch TG409 to Singapore. I was flying with wife and 2 young kids. After we took off we asked about our connection in Bangkok and were reassured by crew the flight would be held as there were several passengers that needed to catch the connection. We landed 4.10pm, our connection was due to leave 4.25pm. There were no ground staff holding signs about our connecting flight and after 15 mins running through the airport with young family we arrive at departure gate to find it had departed. We were told no compensation was due as flight TG671 was delayed by fog on take off. It was a sunny morning in Sapporo when we took off - not a hint of fog. After 3 hrs we caught a later flight back to Singapore that was 40 mins late into Singapore. Thai Airways have a lack of organisation and information at Bangkok terminal.

"very common fast food"

(Thailand)

Verified Review | A short trip from Bangkok to Singapore on Thai Airways TG413 in redeemed economy class (20/02/16). The interior of the cabin is clean and reasonably quiet although the flight was nearly full. All is well except the lunch which is spicy stir-fried chicken with basil leaves and fried egg. For the Thais, this menu is a very common fast food you can find almost anywhere in food stalls or even in some restaurants. But for this flight meal, it is neither what you expect nor authentic.

"an economy drive is in situ"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | This Bangkok to London flight was a culmination of 6 Thai Airways flights on a recent trip. After take off was asked if I would like a drink - yes a beer please - which appeared and was poured with the question. Would I like her to leave the can? My wife also had to request that the can of coke be left. Dinner chosen and for some obscure reason cabin crew have allocated their service format so that in my case I had finished my meal before my wife had been served hers - even though we were sat next to each other. No wine was offered on this flight or on our outward leg, so perhaps an economy drive is in situ. Breakfast menu was shown and requested the Thai omelette and a cup of coffee - the coffee came and when clearing cup I was asked if I would like another. I declined, another coffee came but no breakfast! Was not in the best of moods so bit my tongue but did mention it to cabin crew member who stated that she was the purser - who then said sorry! Have since related this to Thai Airways but not holding my breath as still waiting for a response, other than an automated one from customer relations for an email sent on 19/02/2016. Automated response states high volume of correspondence means a delay in answering - all complaints? As a frequent traveller to Bangkok, mostly with Thai Airways for over 25 years it saddens me to say our next trip airline is up for debate , certainly not on the A380.

Same attitude at counter. but the staff were French (so I am) and not at usual Thai friendly level. Star Alliance lounge at CDG is still poorly catered, shame on wine, and nearly no food. However the flight itself was great and on-time : very comfortable seat, nice on-board drinks (2 brands of Champagne) and food (hot food available during all flight), attendants extremely friendly. A very pleasant surprise. For the last few years I have flown the Middle East airlines between Bangkok and London as Thai were using old equipment. I thought I would give Thai Airways a try again as I was tired of the hassle of changing planes. The plane was a Boeing 777 with the new business class seat. Very comfortable and spacious. Thai have introduced a new dining service on this route. 3 menus. Thai set meal or western, and any time dining and snack menu. This new service makes the cabin crew work harder as it is full a la carte service and at anytime. They crew I had was excellent and food the best I have had for a long time on Thai.

Tokyo Narita to Bangkok with Thai Airways. The aircraft used was the 5-year-old A330-300. The interior was clean and well-maintained. Lunch menu consisted of beef curry or fish. As most of the passengers were Japanese, the Thai beef curry ran out before my row. The crew was very apologetic about that. As with most of Thai Airways flights I have flown, the service really depends on the individual cabin attendant. I was fortunate enough to have a friendly cabin attendant serving on my side. Thai Airways from Bangkok to Vientiane. The flight was almost full with many connecting passengers. Many passengers were carrying more-than-allowed hand-carried items so by the time 50% of the passengers boarded the aircraft, the overhead compartment was already full. The attitude of the cabin attendant differed. The male FA working at the back at the aircraft was really polite and patient and offered to send some of the hand-carried items to the cargo compartment. "we had good seats"

Yangon to Heathrow via Bangkok. Both flights were delayed for 1/2 an hour for no reason we could make out. Food on long flight was awful. Who would want sweet pancakes with what I think was a solid custard, warm ham and a totally anaemic sausage? We had vouchers from Bangkok Airport to spend in the onboard duty free but the trolley went past me. I assumed it would come back but it didn't. I rang from for an attendant but, whilst waiting, an announcement came to say it was 40 mins to landing and the stewardess said they couldn't sell duty free - I believe this was because she saw my vouchers. I was annoyed as I'd wanted to purchase a few items. The plane itself was comfortable and we had good seats on the long flight near emergency exit so loads of leg room. However very cold, despite a blanket and wearing warm clothes. I'll think twice about travelling with them again!

Phuket airport is chaotic and it took ages to get through security. Once at the Thai Airways check in desk we were swiftly and efficiently processed. Aircraft was on the stand well before boarding time but passengers were not allowed to board until 10 minutes after scheduled departure time. As a result plane was delayed as we were in a queue of several aircraft waiting to depart. Flight from Phuket to Bangkok actually left 45 minutes late. Cabin crew were very efficient and served food and drink quickly. Meal was ok for the one hour flight. No IFE available on this flight. "crew were forgetful and clumsy"

(Thailand)

Frankfurt to Bangkok. The J class on the Thai A380 is far superior to their tired Boeing 747-400's. The configuration of the seat makes for a good private space and you get a lie-flat sleeping experience. Bizarre service on this leg with a mature crew who were forgetful and clumsy. A first for me to also be tapped on the arm (as the service approached me from behind) to ask what I wanted to drink and subsequently eat. The 'poke' didn't happen once but twice. Astonishing. The service was interrupted twice by turbulence. This delayed the service by 60 minutes at least and you could tell the crew were getting tetchy as they tried to make up for lost time (ie. crew rest time) as they literally threw the desserts and coffee at me. Food was poor quality for a J class experience. The wine selection was also very basic. I've previously stated that TG J class is a leisure-play carrier, and whilst nothing wrong with that, be aware if you're expecting something better. Compared to their rivals, their business class product is inferior - hard and soft factors.

"sleeping a challenge"

(Thailand)

A very tired business class product on Thai Airways Boeing 747-400 from Bangkok to Munich. Seats were the angled format that makes sleeping a challenge. The cabin was way too hot (despite noting this to the crew). Seems to me that Thai don't really do proper business class. The amenity kit bag was reflective of this. The crew tried hard.

"team of enthusiastic crew"

(United Kingdom)

The Thai Airways royal silk business class on this flight was smooth and reasonably good. We had a team of enthusiastic crew which made the experience great. Seats are a bit old but for a 3 hour flight from Jakarta to Bangkok, angle lie-flat is fine really. 4 choices of main courses, taste as better than average. Senior crew do a few rounds of drink top up, a pleasant 3 hours passed by easily. Only gripe was we parked on tarmac not by the bay, we had to be bused to immigration. Other than that, another smooth flight.

"four very good flights"

(United Kingdom)

We had four very good flights with Thai Airways, travelling London to Krabi via Bangkok return. It was great to be on flights with enough staff, Emirates and BA should note. The food was of a good quality, and the drinks didn't stop. Only downside was the check in at Heathrow, quite poor.

"flights were very pleasant"

(Poland)

Bangkok to Krabi return with Thai Airways. We booked early and managed to get a great deal with Thai Airways. They fly wide body jets on the short one hour domestic flight between Bangkok and Krabi and both the outbound and inbound flights were very pleasant. The outbound jet was newer and had in-seat screens (showing the flight map) whereas the the inbound jet was older and had large cabin screens (the audio during the safety announcement was very crackly and inaudible). The service was good and on both flights we were given a small lunch box with a roll and juice. It's interesting on this flight as some passengers were in transit from international flights and some (like us) were domestic. This meant that when we landed in Krabi we were separated and transferred to two different terminals.

"flights on time and smooth as silk"

(Turkey)

Bangkok-Phuket-Bangkok with Thai Airways. Both flights on time and smooth as silk. The domestic lounge in BKK is pretty basic both in terms of furnishings and food/beverage options. No fast track. However boarding organized and priority boarding for Star Gold enforced on both flights. The 777's offer great comfort on this busy domestic route with good seat pitch and IFE. Lunchbox and hot drinks provided with a smile. The lounge in HKT is a welcome relief considered the inadequate seating space in the domestic departure terminal. Considering the low fare I payed, must say that I am very satisfied with Thai Airways.

"cabin crew was welcoming"

(France)

We were travelling from Paris to Bangkok in 2015, and my wife and have decided to travel in business class with Thai Airways. It was our first time in an A380 and we were well surprised by the environment of the cabin. Lots of seats in 2 different parts but the seats are well organized to keep some discretion. The cabin crew was welcoming, the food very good - Thai food - and a large choice of beverages. It was a good flight and we will probably choose this airline if we go back in Thailand.

"admire and commend staff"

(Philippines)

Manila to Delhi via Bangkok return. With Thai Airways you have to ask a blanket or a headphone if you needed one. If the person in front of you reclines their seat you have to adjust your TV also. The stewards are accommodating and I was grateful how they handled the person who won't budge on my child allotted seat. My luggage was left at Bangkok because of a delayed flight from Manila flight, and Thai Airways deliver my luggage at my hotel. My 8 year old son cannot handle spicy food and the stewardess gave him a business class pasta. My experience has its hassles but I admire and commend how gracious the Thai Airways staff.

"a lot of leg room"

(Denmark)

Bangkok to Copenhagen. In Thai Airways premium economy you get a wide seat, a lot of leg room, and this makes the extra money for premium economy worth it. Other benefits are separate check in, lounge access, and the food was surprisingly tasty. But for 11 hours, it's about the seat. If you can afford it, do it.

"very good flight"

(Singapore)

Bangkok from Singapore, as a Gold Star Alliance member, I got access to the Thai Airways lounge located in Changi Terminal 1. The food is rather limited and the seating limited but it still provides you with a place to quietly do your emails while you wait for your flight. I enjoy flying Thai Airways, particularly on this short route. The planes vary from the Boeing 777 to the A330, but it's always a widebody and while demand for seats is high, the planes are clean and comfortable. They've kept the seating in the 777 3-3-3. Full meal service in this short flight, blankets, pillows and PTV. I've started to see full-service airlines in short routes that won't offer all this. Overall, very good flight, on-time.

"crew this time very attentive"

(United Kingdom)

I flew Thai Airways from Auckland to Bangkok with TG492 and then TG920 to Frankfurt. The first flight was with a slightly outdated Boeing 777. The seats seemed quite old and the IFE screen wasn't too responsive. We got lunch and dinner which were very tasty, with premium spirits on demand. The crew seemed quite impatient and weren't too responsive when one put their light on. The second flight was very different though, on a brand new A380. Very comfortable, modern seats. A great IFE with a remote control. Dinner and breakfast were served. Breakfast was fantastic with warm bread and croissants and the crew this time were very attentive. Overall very satisfied with Thai for taking me across the globe and would definitely recommend for ultra long haul journeys.

"food was a disaster"

(Australia)

My husband and I flew Thai Airways economy class from Brisbane to Bangkok to Mandalay, and the seating was very cramped. To add to that the passenger in front of my husband insisted in having his seat back the whole journey except for a very short time during one meal - the seat was virtually in my husbands meal, the crew did nothing until I asked them to and then it was for a very brief time. Because of this we asked at Bangkok for an upgrade to Business Class on our return from Bangkok to Brisbane, and paid an extra A$1046 each for this upgrade. The seats were roomy and service good but the food was a disaster. The entrée was scollops and vegetables - scollops were cold and the vegetables cold. I ordered the prawns and husband ordered veal - the prawns were strong fishy tasting so I swapped with hubby (who will normally eat anything) even though I don't normally eat veal - the veal was very thick and not able to be cut. Breakfast was an omelette with frozen fruit! We have flown Business with other airlines and meals have been fantastic - economy on other airlines has been better than what was served up to us on this flight.

"seats are horrible"

(New Zealand)

Thai Airways Business class seat on the Boeing 777-200 from Bangkok to Auckland was horrible. Not lay-flat, it reclines to a steep angle with a horrible foot rest that unless you keep constant pressure on it will keep retracting. Not easy to sleep on your side. Very poor design and not worth the money for business class, or up to the standard of what is expected in 2016! The food was also poor compared to offerings from other airlines. The business class food on Thai matches economy class on other airlines. The Thai Airways Business Lounge at Bangkok Airport also had very cheap food.

"staff with no smile"

(United Arab Emirates)

My family and friends travelled from Dubai to Hong Kong via Bangkok return. Cabin staff with no smile, and was reluctant to preserve an economy class meal for the kid who was sleeping - I was told to take it then or I might not be able to have it later. The hostess who served me was grumpy as if someone was forcing her to do this job!

"everything was so excellent"

(France)

Dubai to Bangkok with Thai Airways. The best service I have ever had. I can't remember when everything was so excellent in an airline, and it was with Thai Airways. The service is outstanding, cabin crew always have a smile in, they act very quickly on your demands and provide solutions immediately. The food was amazing, one of the cabin crew even brought me a Thai dessert just because I was curious about their culture. The seat was really comfortable and the entertainment very updated. I am definitely flying them again.

"Food was mediocre"

(Hong Kong)

Hong Kong to Bangkok return. The outward journey on the A380 was late, plane was dirty, I found food and inflight entertainment poor. The return on the A330 was delayed for late boarding passengers. Food was mediocre, wine was a full glass this time, movies no change from December.

"Great job Thai"

(United States)

Kansai to Bangkok with Thai Airways. Initial disappointment of change from an A380 at the time of booking to a Boeing 747 quickly overcome when check-in opened 25 minutes before posted time. Excellent flight, friendly efficient crew, good legroom, clean toilets, delicious meals, especially green tea cake and ice cream. Arrived early. Special holiday touches like Seasons Greetings napkins and headrest covers. Departed to the tune of Sleigh Ride in 90 degree Bangkok heat. Great job Thai, you made my day!

"pilot woke us to countdown for New Year"

(Thailand)

I have submitted views on the seat lack of comfort, but as for the rest of my Thai Airways experience I have to say they were once again fantastic overall! London to Bangkok was delayed after boarding at gate 30 minutes, due to offloading 1 passenger and bags. Smooth bording considering a very full capacity flight, food offerings were plentiful and enjoyed as were the refreshments on regular offer. Slightly surreal that the pilot woke us up to all countdown for New Year whilst at 41,000 feet and then we had Rod Steward singing auld langs syne over the plane's PA followed by a Thai song! If only bubbly had followed? What a nice touch Thai Airways. Thai are doing well in terms of customer service onboard, if only Bangkok Airport immigration would staff up accordingly when having many flights arriving together - extremely slow and frustrating to see just 8 officers on duty when there must have been more than half available desks vacant considering our flight had 500 passengers alone. Over 1hr to stand in line is not acceptable for an airport so obviously busy!

"service was very good"

(Germany)

Thai Airways use the A380 on this short 2.30h afternoon flight from Hong Kong to Bangkok. Plane was new, nice seats and a good selection of films and flight informations. Very light load, only 26 passengers in Economy in the A380- so nearly everyone had one row available to use it alone. Service was very good, hot meal, a few drinks and very nice FAs. Sadly the flight was delayed by 45 min, there were no reason or any apologies given for this - thats not the right way to communicate. Captain only told a few words about the flight route. All in all Thai Airways offers a good product with high prices (even with same full service carriers like MH or ET) - but everyone who doesn't care about the price and look at the service would like Thai Airways!
