“continues to be a solid choice”

(Malaysia)

Trip Verified | Embarking on the usual route from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur with Malaysia Airlines proved to be a standard yet reliable experience. The boarding was well-organized, and the cabin crew welcomed passengers with the characteristic warmth that Malaysia Airlines is known for. Seating arrangements were comfortable, providing a decent level of comfort for the relatively short flight. The in-flight entertainment options were varied (but I don't use inflight entertainment because I have downloaded movie content on my mobile phone). The in-flight dining experience, while not groundbreaking, met the expectations of a standard domestic flight. Being someone with dietary restrictions, I was pleasantly surprised by the superb gluten-free dining experience. The flight itself proceeded without any significant issues, and the punctuality of arrival in Kuala Lumpur allowed for a smooth transition for passengers connecting to their next destinations. For those seeking a straightforward journey with reliable service, Malaysia Airlines continues to be a solid choice for domestic travel within Malaysia.

“a commendable standard of service”

(Malaysia)

Trip Verified | My recent trip from a usual departure point to Kuching with Malaysia Airlines was marked by a commendable standard of service, making it a pleasant and uneventful journey. Check-in procedures were smooth, with attentive ground staff ensuring a hassle-free start to the travel experience. The boarding process was well-organized, and the cabin crew welcomed passengers with the warmth and professionalism that Malaysia Airlines is known for. Seating arrangements were comfortable, providing adequate legroom for the duration of the flight. The in-flight entertainment system offered a variety of options to suit diverse tastes, making the journey enjoyable for those who sought entertainment during the flight. The in-flight dining experience was modest, with a menu that featured local flavors. While not necessarily groundbreaking, the meals were satisfying, and the cabin crew ensured that passengers were well taken care of throughout the flight. The flight itself proceeded with significant delays, and the arrival in Kuching was a bit late. Overall, my experience on the usual route to Kuching with Malaysia Airlines was standard in the best sense of the word. The airline's commitment to providing a reliable and comfortable travel experience was evident, making it a solid choice for those looking for a straightforward journey without any major surprises.

“nothing short of exceptional”

(Malaysia)

Trip Verified | My recent flight with Malaysia Airlines was nothing short of exceptional, with standout features in the realms of gastronomy and service provided by the impeccable cabin crew. I recently had the pleasure of flying with Malaysia Airlines post the reported catering issue, and I'm thrilled to announce that the airline has made a triumphant comeback in the realm of in-flight dining. The previous concerns seem to be a distant memory as the culinary experience on my recent flight was nothing short of spectacular. Malaysia Airlines has not only resolved the catering issue but has taken this opportunity to elevate its food offerings to new heights. From the moment I made my dietary request, the attention to detail was evident. Malaysia Airlines went above and beyond to ensure that my gluten-free meal was not only safe but also delicious. The cabin crew played a crucial role in making the experience seamless. Their understanding of dietary restrictions and willingness to accommodate special requests was commendable. It was clear that Malaysia Airlines places a high priority on passenger comfort and satisfaction, regardless of dietary preferences. Choosing not to utilize the in-flight entertainment and Wi-Fi, I experienced a journey marked by tranquility and the simple joy of being unplugged. Overall satisfied.

"had good communication, service, food"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | A lot of negativity about MH on here, but we had good communication, service, food and flights/baggage arrived when they were supposed to at a good price point. Airlines have changed post covid and measure your expectations. The only downsides we experienced were longish layovers at KUL which are exhausting on the westbound SYD-LHR. My partner is partially sighted and MH were very courteous and helped us a lot. Sure the AVOD selection is rather basic and the A333s are old but the service, legroom, food, and overall experience bar the entertainment were on a par with SQ who I flew with last year and vastly superior to LH on the same trip. The airline seems to be trying to address previous problems effectively - recommend booking lounge access if you are westbound thru KUL if you can

"using narrow body aircraft for long haul"

(Malaysia)

Not Verified | Disappointed with MAS for using narrow body aircraft for long haul. Passenger had to squeeze in to their seat or get off to the toilet. Worst if the passenger in front pull back their seats. The space become so small and very uncomfortable.

“wasted time and delayed schedule”

(Singapore)

Not Verified | Changed people's flight from MORNING to NIGHT! This has wasted our time and delayed the schedule. Requested to change flights but asked for extra pay. The customer service helped to reply with another flight which was non direct flight, we already accepted it but the next day the airline did not allow us to change from a direct to a non-direct flight. This is the last time we buy a ticket from Malaysia Airlines

"meal was very disappointing"

(Malaysia)

Trip Verified | Cabin crew service was great, but the inflight meal for business class was very disappointing the food presentation was ugly and worst part was the food was the same as economy class. Further more a hours flight and no alcohol served.

"Crew were attentive"

(Malaysia)

Not Verified | Short hop on Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. The flight was good and since it was a short 40 min hop, F&B was water or orange juice and their signature salted peanuts. Crew were attentive and are commendable for their detailed thought into senior citizens on the flight who requested for hot water. Love their short haul crew.

"has become a 17 hour layover"

(Australia)

Not Verified | From now I won't be using MH after my upcoming trip. When I land in KL on the 19th of Oct, what was a 2hr layover, has become a 17 hour layover. No compensation, no offer to put us up in a hotel or into another carrier, the customer, must wear this. Why? Engineering issues. 2 weeks out. Reality not enough seats sold. Trying to communicate with the transit hotel is pure pain. So no flight leaves KUL for Bangkok after 16:00, until 09:00 the next day. So the wife and i forced to stay in the transit hotel at a stupid cost, because MH put it's budget before customer service. No one in their right mind would choose this lay over, unless the ticket was dirt cheap. When i spoke to MAmH contact centre, they were fine with the 2 week notice, as they deemed it not short notice. My response. Tickets bought 5 months ago on an international route, I'd define it as short notice. When you knowingly turn a 2 hour layover into 17hours with not a care in the World.

"Arrogance and indifference are the norm"

(New Zealand)

Not Verified | Seat spacing (leg room) the biggest issue for us. We fly a lot and recommend avoiding Malaysia Airlines at all costs. They have reduced the seat spacing to the ridiculous and more importantly they do not care. Seeing row after row of passengers sitting bolt upright (with seats supposedly reclined) trying to watch a movie on a screen which is just inches from their face beggars belief. One needing the restroom requires all in the row leaving their seats (with a high degree of difficulty, yanking on the seats in front) to let others out. Mealtimes a joke, as even seeing the tray is difficult with it being so close to your body let alone getting the food up to your mouth. In addition MH feel justified seating couples apart even when they booked together and more to the point, are dismissive of any pleas to sit together. We had two 11 hr flights putting up with these conditions. Arrogance and indifference are the norm with this lot.
