"meal was very disappointing"
Gim Hoe Khaw (Malaysia)
✅ Trip Verified | Cabin crew service was great, but the inflight meal for business class was very disappointing the food presentation was ugly and worst part was the food was the same as economy class. Further more a hours flight and no alcohol served.

"Crew were attentive"
Kuhan Chelvanathan (Malaysia)
Not Verified | Short hop on Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. The flight was good and since it was a short 40 min hop, F&B was water or orange juice and their signature salted peanuts. Crew were attentive and are commendable for their detailed thought into senior citizens on the flight who requested for hot water. Love their short haul crew.

"has become a 17 hour layover"
S Brendan (Australia)
Not Verified | From now I won't be using MH after my upcoming trip. When I land in KL on the 19th of Oct, what was a 2hr layover, has become a 17 hour layover. No compensation, no offer to put us up in a hotel or into another carrier, the customer, must wear this. Why? Engineering issues. 2 weeks out. Reality not enough seats sold. Trying to communicate with the transit hotel is pure pain. So no flight leaves KUL for Bangkok after 16:00, until 09:00 the next day. So the wife and i forced to stay in the transit hotel at a stupid cost, because MH put it's budget before customer service. No one in their right mind would choose this lay over, unless the ticket was dirt cheap. When i spoke to MAmH contact centre, they were fine with the 2 week notice, as they deemed it not short notice. My response. Tickets bought 5 months ago on an international route, I'd define it as short notice. When you knowingly turn a 2 hour layover into 17hours with not a care in the World.

"Arrogance and indifference are the norm"
Ian Henderson (New Zealand)
Not Verified | Seat spacing (leg room) the biggest issue for us. We fly a lot and recommend avoiding Malaysia Airlines at all costs. They have reduced the seat spacing to the ridiculous and more importantly they do not care. Seeing row after row of passengers sitting bolt upright (with seats supposedly reclined) trying to watch a movie on a screen which is just inches from their face beggars belief. One needing the restroom requires all in the row leaving their seats (with a high degree of difficulty, yanking on the seats in front) to let others out. Mealtimes a joke, as even seeing the tray is difficult with it being so close to your body let alone getting the food up to your mouth. In addition MH feel justified seating couples apart even when they booked together and more to the point, are dismissive of any pleas to sit together. We had two 11 hr flights putting up with these conditions. Arrogance and indifference are the norm with this lot.

"I wouldn't recommend this airline"
John King (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | I wouldn't recommend this airline unless you have no other option. The flight started with a late departure, over an hour late with no real reason. During the flight free wifi cards were handed out. However, the WiFi was not working. bit of a waste of paper. The refresher towels were handed out and all were cold. The meals were terrible. Warm Yogurt, overcooked beef, soggy salad. The seat USB points do not work. The Headset jacks dropped in and out.

"very sub standard to say the least"
D Barker (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | Malaysia Airlines has been our go to airlines for the past 10 years because the price was reasonable, the meals were great and the service was good over all. However, I am seeing the decline of the service over time and the last experience is like a nail in the coffin. The experience started with poor instructions in the boarding gate, people were confused and cluttered around the entrance. 30 minutes of late boarding was followed by another 30 minutes stranding in the runway. Everyone was seated and with ready to go by had no idea why the plane was not moving. After 30 minutes the pilot realised he needs to explain and then gave an announcement about the take off queue. Once the flight took off, they served 3 small pieces of vegetable balls as dinner. Thankfully the breakfast served in the morning was standard (scrambled eggs, butter, bread, fruit, etc). We landed safely in KL for stop over. The flight from KL was delayed because Malaysian airlines could not solve an issue they were having with their catering and had to delay an international flight by an hour. Boarding was no better than before, they were calling in groups by i figured whoever by passed the queue, they allowed them to onboard first. This time meal was chickpeas in lentil, white rice and one piece of carrot as lunch. Given the airlines are charging 50% more than pre-covid, it is expected that they at least maintain similar decent standard. But the overall experience of my flight was very sub standard to say the least.

"express my utmost disappointment"
C Gan (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | I am writing to express my utmost disappointment in the quality of service provided by Malaysia Airlines, an airline I have frequently patronized in the past. Regrettably, my recent experiences have led me to conclude that the airline has regressed significantly, to the extent that I consider it the worst airline I have ever traveled with. It has come to my attention that Malaysia Airlines' website and mobile app consistently display inaccurate pricing for various services. This not only raises questions about the airline's transparency but also creates an environment that appears designed to deceive customers and extract more funds from them. My attempts to seek clarification and resolution through email channels have proven futile, as I have received no response from the customer service team. In contrast to the silent email responses, my interactions with the call center agents have been far from satisfactory. The unprofessional and unhelpful conduct exhibited during these exchanges only compounds my concerns. My suspicion that the airline is deliberately misleading customers deepens as I observe irregularities in the pricing display of additional services. The functionality of the website is fraught with issues, further exacerbating the overall negative experience. Navigating the site has become an arduous task, detracting from the convenience one should expect. The quality of in-flight meal replacements has reached a level I can only describe as abysmal. The deterioration in food quality reflects poorly on the airline and its commitment to passenger satisfaction. My experience with flight attendants has left much to be desired, particularly in relation to the distribution of basic amenities such as blankets and headphones. Such lapses in service standards are inexcusable.

"Astonishing lack of corporate customer care"
G Hallam (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Astonishing lack of corporate customer care. My business flight had been booked for weeks and I had meetings organised soon after arriving. But on the way to the airport I received a curt text informing me that the flight was cancelled and if been placed in a flight 4 hours later! Such arrogance. I run a massively customer facing organisation and under no circumstances would we casually disrupt our customers' plans. No explanation, chaos at the airport, ground staff heroically managing the mass of rescheduled travellers. Does Malaysian Air imagine that they have a monopoly on this route? If so, they're about to receive an awakening. No further business from me, my company or hopefully, none of my friends.

"still no refund"
N Kamisakan (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | I bought a flexible fare and requested refund over three months ago. I have been calling them every 2 weeks and still no refund. I also have no evidence about cancellation or no correspondences from the airlines, The Malaysian Airlines is ruining Malaysia's image - It is disgrace.

"unfortunate experience"
21 reviews A Ishak (Malaysia)
✅ Trip Verified | I recently had the unfortunate experience of flying with Malaysia Airlines, and I must say that it was one of the most disappointing travel experiences I've ever had. I am a person who is not too concerned about the services but this experience needs to be taken into account by the management. This review focuses on my Kota Kinabalu (BKI) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) route. Punctuality: Retime for 1 hour later, but take-off about 1 hour and a half. The good side of this, they kept e-mailed me on the retime earlier as I needed to make sure my first leg flight was on time and plan my transfer from 1st flight to this flight (including check-in as I was not allowed to check-in online) Boarding Experience: As the boarding gate is shared with another airline, the boarding queue seems unorganized as the space for queuing is small. Basic Comfort: While the seating and cabin amenities are modest, they are adequate for shorter flights. The seating is functional, and there's sufficient legroom for a comfortable journey. Old aircraft but it was okay for me. In-Flight Service: Normal in-flight experience. Snacks and beverages (hot meals) are available but understand the situation faced by this airline. Cabin crew: Normally I give 5 stars to the crew, but on this flight their performance was modest.
