"cabin staff very attentive and caring"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | I flew Malaysia Airlines LHR-SYD (via KUL), economy class out and business class return. All 4 of my flights were good, with the cabin staff very attentive and caring. I have a severe food allergy and maximum care was taken to ensure I was not put at risk in any way. The ground staff at the various airports were also very helpful. I am a nervous flyer, but thanks to Malaysian Airlines, my trips were not stressful at all as I felt cared for throughout. Our take offs and landings were so smooth so I had no cause for concern throughout the journeys. Thank you Malaysian Airlines!

"Such a nightmare"

(Australia)

Trip Verified | Initially the system didn’t work and they wrote down boarding passes manually and had to wait for hours to clear that and even no one informed until that time. The connecting flight got missed and they said they will arrange to next flight, which is at night. They took our passports to arrange special pass and they came back with the pass after 5:30 hours. After 5:30 they came up and took another 2 hours for passes and transportation. They didn’t even provide a meal. After all the wait we reached the hotel and stayed for 1 hr and they started us to go back to airport. After all the hassle in flight I have requested for hindu vegetarian meal and they didn’t change it in the new flight and they didn’t bother to apologise nor provide any alternative. They didn’t even have anything to provide food in flight. There said there was no option for veg and no food provided. After all these things my check in bag got missing and they couldn’t even locate my bag, I don’t how come they can’t locate a bag. Never flying tem again nor recommended. Such a nightmare.

"Will never book with them again"

(Australia)

Not Verified | Worst service ever and when you pay for flexi you get told you can’t upgrade later like it promises you can. If they delay or cancel your flight they take no responsibility their response was “that’s what you get insurance for”. Lucky for us we always buy insurance but come on, take some accountability! When we call customer service because no one can seem to help us at the airports about upgrading on the way back, you get put on hold for extended periods of time, so long that it eventually just drops your call while you’re waiting. Told by the manager themselves that they would call back in 5mins and no call over 1.5 hours later. After 5 hours of going back and forth and no manager returning our calls, we are told we can only upgrade the entire trip and not parts of it. Extremely frustrating to hear when you were told the complete opposite on the way to our destination. Phone then drops out again and you can’t upgrade on their website. Ended up just cancelling our flights and booking flights with another company we were that disgusted with their lack of appropriate service. Will never book with them again.

"first time I had a very bad experience"

(Australia)

Trip Verified | This is the first time I had a very bad experience with Malaysia airlines, I have bought a round-trip ticket to fly back Malaysia from Melbourne. However, I have made some changes few days before with the call center to postponed my return flight back to Melbourne as I wish to extend my stay in Malaysia. On the 25 Nov which I should fly with MH128 at 00.30am from Melbourne to Malaysia and found out there is an issue with my ticket when I checked in at the counter as there is no ticket number can be found in the system. The lady at the counter told me that she couldn’t fix it as there is no ticket found and she suspect they must have messed up my ticket when they changed my return flight so she made me to call the Malaysia airlines on the spot to help to fix the problem. Finally get through the call centre after 15 minutes, it is very disappointing that they fixed it but putting me into the wrong flight - MH148 (which is the flight that fly off the next day) and she hung me up after that without calling me back to fix the error. I was lucky enough as there are 2 counter ladies tried what they can to help me out. I’m not too sure how they fix it but at least now they can find my name in the system so they could get an approval from the back station to do something for me so that I could fly with MH128 which is the flight I initially booked. I am making this complain to hope Malaysia airlines is aware so they can improve in the future.

"MH could do a lot better"

(Malaysia)

Trip Verified | Check in was a completely automated process in Perth. The flight was delayed by an hour and we did receive an email to warn us about this. The departure time was 0220 but the aircraft was finally airborne at 0400! The boarding process was not well managed and there was little enforcement of hand luggage. There were a lot or travellers who were heading to India and Nepal and they seemed to have lots of hand luggage and there was insufficient space in the overhead bins. This is where things get weird. Once airborne at 4am, you would think they would give everyone a drink and a bag of peanuts and then turn off the lights and let the passengers sleep and then serve them breakfast before landing. But no, we were served a hot meal of either chicken curry or beef stew! By the time the meal service was over, there was about only 3.5 hours of flying time left to rest! The cabin crew were not warm and we had a surly male flight attendant serving us. The IFE was limited and not all seats had headphones or blankets so a lot of people were asking for them. All in all, MH could do a lot better. They make a big deal of Malaysian hospitality on the plane but that was probably reserved for the premium class up front.

“continues to be a solid choice”

(Malaysia)

Trip Verified | Embarking on the usual route from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur with Malaysia Airlines proved to be a standard yet reliable experience. The boarding was well-organized, and the cabin crew welcomed passengers with the characteristic warmth that Malaysia Airlines is known for. Seating arrangements were comfortable, providing a decent level of comfort for the relatively short flight. The in-flight entertainment options were varied (but I don't use inflight entertainment because I have downloaded movie content on my mobile phone). The in-flight dining experience, while not groundbreaking, met the expectations of a standard domestic flight. Being someone with dietary restrictions, I was pleasantly surprised by the superb gluten-free dining experience. The flight itself proceeded without any significant issues, and the punctuality of arrival in Kuala Lumpur allowed for a smooth transition for passengers connecting to their next destinations. For those seeking a straightforward journey with reliable service, Malaysia Airlines continues to be a solid choice for domestic travel within Malaysia.

“a commendable standard of service”

(Malaysia)

Trip Verified | My recent trip from a usual departure point to Kuching with Malaysia Airlines was marked by a commendable standard of service, making it a pleasant and uneventful journey. Check-in procedures were smooth, with attentive ground staff ensuring a hassle-free start to the travel experience. The boarding process was well-organized, and the cabin crew welcomed passengers with the warmth and professionalism that Malaysia Airlines is known for. Seating arrangements were comfortable, providing adequate legroom for the duration of the flight. The in-flight entertainment system offered a variety of options to suit diverse tastes, making the journey enjoyable for those who sought entertainment during the flight. The in-flight dining experience was modest, with a menu that featured local flavors. While not necessarily groundbreaking, the meals were satisfying, and the cabin crew ensured that passengers were well taken care of throughout the flight. The flight itself proceeded with significant delays, and the arrival in Kuching was a bit late. Overall, my experience on the usual route to Kuching with Malaysia Airlines was standard in the best sense of the word. The airline's commitment to providing a reliable and comfortable travel experience was evident, making it a solid choice for those looking for a straightforward journey without any major surprises.

“nothing short of exceptional”

(Malaysia)

Trip Verified | My recent flight with Malaysia Airlines was nothing short of exceptional, with standout features in the realms of gastronomy and service provided by the impeccable cabin crew. I recently had the pleasure of flying with Malaysia Airlines post the reported catering issue, and I'm thrilled to announce that the airline has made a triumphant comeback in the realm of in-flight dining. The previous concerns seem to be a distant memory as the culinary experience on my recent flight was nothing short of spectacular. Malaysia Airlines has not only resolved the catering issue but has taken this opportunity to elevate its food offerings to new heights. From the moment I made my dietary request, the attention to detail was evident. Malaysia Airlines went above and beyond to ensure that my gluten-free meal was not only safe but also delicious. The cabin crew played a crucial role in making the experience seamless. Their understanding of dietary restrictions and willingness to accommodate special requests was commendable. It was clear that Malaysia Airlines places a high priority on passenger comfort and satisfaction, regardless of dietary preferences. Choosing not to utilize the in-flight entertainment and Wi-Fi, I experienced a journey marked by tranquility and the simple joy of being unplugged. Overall satisfied.

"had good communication, service, food"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | A lot of negativity about MH on here, but we had good communication, service, food and flights/baggage arrived when they were supposed to at a good price point. Airlines have changed post covid and measure your expectations. The only downsides we experienced were longish layovers at KUL which are exhausting on the westbound SYD-LHR. My partner is partially sighted and MH were very courteous and helped us a lot. Sure the AVOD selection is rather basic and the A333s are old but the service, legroom, food, and overall experience bar the entertainment were on a par with SQ who I flew with last year and vastly superior to LH on the same trip. The airline seems to be trying to address previous problems effectively - recommend booking lounge access if you are westbound thru KUL if you can

"using narrow body aircraft for long haul"

(Malaysia)

Not Verified | Disappointed with MAS for using narrow body aircraft for long haul. Passenger had to squeeze in to their seat or get off to the toilet. Worst if the passenger in front pull back their seats. The space become so small and very uncomfortable.
