SKYTRAX have announced that Asiana Airlines is the latest addition to the exclusive group of 5 Star airlines,
joining Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines.
Commenting on the latest 5 Star Award, Edward Plaisted of SKYTRAX said ...."achieving a 5 Star Airline ranking
is no easy achievement, as is shown by the fact that across the world we currently only see five airlines that
are worthy of this status".
"Asiana Airlines has shown itself to be a very consistent, high-quality performer across all areas of the service
delivery chain to customers, and now that they are delivering their new, upgraded product standards on a fairly
wide basis, we believe the time is right to honour their quality achievement with a 5 Star ranking. We understand
the rest of their aircraft fleet will undergo the necessary upgrading through 2007 to justify their revised rating".
"The 5 Star Airline ranking level represents a wide range of product and service analysis, across both the airport
and onboard experience, and I always stress that consistency of the delivery of quality is a key factor. It is
consistency of product and service that sustains customer loyalty, and this is an area where we see a very high standard
being achieved by Asiana Airlines".
"Our congratulations go to the management and staff of Asiana Airlines for achieving what is regarded as the highest
quality accolade and recognition an airline can gain. It is now their challenge to both maintain and develop their
service quality that this 5 Star ranking is recognising" added Plaisted.
