"lack of efficiency and amenities"

Trip Verified | Although all staff has been very kind, the process here is horrible. The international security is absolutely ridiculous- very long lines, multiple checks and security checks that essentially are repetitive if what you did at the original security check point. They then shoved us all into a small space with very little seating for about an hour before getting onto our flight. There was no where to sit for about half the people on board and it was stuffy with no air flow. Very disappointed with the lack of efficiency and amenities for international departures. Do better.

"overcrowded, impersonal, understaffed"

Trip Verified |  Once upon a time FRA was an efficient airport. Today, FRA is a strong competitor for OECD worst. Inefficient, overcrowded, impersonal, understaffed. Baggage delivery out of a flight from Newark was an embarrassment to a country that claims efficiency. Security for an outbound flight within the Schengen area was excruciatingly slow.

"staff very slow moving"

Not Verified | I've been traveling for 20 years and this is the Worst. When I arrived at the airport from Albania I went to follow the signs and found out I had to go through TSA again. Because they don't trust other Europe countries. The line was very long and was very slow. Are flight was boarding in 45 minutes and this line was moving every 3 minutes. People were cutting the lines to not be late and I had to do it as well! The staff was short and very slow moving. They didn't care what you were doing and took their time on everything. Also when the bags went through the check-in they were there for a long time because the luggage that was being double checked was taking too much room so the other luggage's couldn't come through. We almost missed are flight but had a few extra minutes thankfully. They said the flight would be full but seats were empty probably because they didn't cut the line and the system is messed up! 1/10

"paying Euro 30.00 for Parking"

Not Verified | I'm reviewing Frankfurt Airport as someone picked up a passenger. My friends' flight was delayed from its departing City. Reason given FRA didn't have enough staff to handle the incoming flight. When we got there, we drove to Arrivals parking where 10 min parking is free of charge. While there we had intermittent to NO Cellphone reception. After my friend's plane had landed (inner Europe flight) it took her over an hour to get her luggage -this is around 10-11 p.m. I walked into the terminal several times to see if I could find her, and I agree with reviews on this and other review sites that the signage in FRA is no existent and/or misleading. For ca. 1hour and 15 minutes we ended up paying Euro 30.00 for Parking. We had to park all the way at the end of arrivals because everything else was full. Of course, if takes passengers over an hour to exit the Terminal there will be parking spots blocked instead of flowing traffic. But I guess as long as they charge those kind of parking fees. Customer oriented service non-existent at Frankfurt Airport.

"dirty and in poor state"

Not Verified | Never have I been in an airport with less service! Gate B13: in the area there was 1 café for many people having to queue for a long time. Toilets in another floor, not toilet paper in every box, seats and areas while waiting were dirty and in poor state. I expected quite another standard for such a big German airport, very disappointed!!

"the airport just keeps on getting worse"

Not Verified | I have flown FRA-LON (LHR and LCY) roughly 15 times year to date and the airport just keeps on getting worse. Your security is an utter joke, the only airport where it takes 1h to get through security (not LHR,LCY, Kastrup etc) has the same extended issues. Your staff don't even seem to care, why is it that you have 7-8 people manning a security lane if its not even opened? You are aware that when you take the train from hauptbahnhof to T1 you have conflicting signs of where to go for shuttle bus to T2? In any other sector most of the staff would have been laid off due to lack of professionalism or just outright laziness. Unfortunately I will have to continue using your airport due to me living in Frankfurt but trust me, its not because I want too.

"Took 45 minutes just for the security"

Trip Verified | Dysfunctional beyond belief. Lufthansa check in agents rude and ignorant. Security a total joke. Staff were just standing around hands folded. Took 45 minutes just for the security. Service center looking to get paid upgrade. The agent told me none available before I had to chance to tell where I’m traveling to.

"A shame for a country like Germany"

Trip Verified | I arrived on Flight AC846 at Frankfurt to continue with LH372 to Friedrichshafen. First AC846 had no gate but an outfield position. It took 15 Mon until the steps arrived. Then we took a 15min Busride to the B gates. Here after 50 min waiting I had to take a Bus to the A gates to clear customs. Then I found out that my gate is at B3 terminal so I had to walk all the way back. The flight to Friedrichshafen of course was parked to at an outfield position so I took another bus back to the plane I never seen a more stupid layout than at FRA airport. Long ways for nothing, absolutely not doable for older and handicapped people and super confusing. A shame for a country like Germany.

"Overall terrible customer service"

Trip Verified | Waited 2.5 hours at the luggage belt. I was informed by the service staff that these are normal waiting times at the moment, that Fraport had laid off many employees and no longer had enough staff. Furthermore, I was told that I should probably have bought a ticket directly through Lufthansa instead of through two airlines, then I could have saved myself the waiting time. Toilets in Departure E area disgusting. Check-in at Emirates impertinent and unfriendly. I should save myself from having my suitcase wrapped in foil, that's completely unnecessary. After I explained to him that my suitcase unfortunately had a tear and that's why I chose the foil, the employee told me that I should get a decent suitcase after all. As a dual citizen, I checked in with the wrong passport because I just didn't know any better. The manner in which this error was conveyed to me was unfriendly and cheeky. Overall terrible customer service! | 2,5 Stunden am Gepäck Band gewartet. Vom Servicepersonal wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass dies momentan normale Wartezeiten seien, die Fraport hätte viele Mitarbeiter entlassen und nicht mehr genug Personal. Des weiteren wurde mir gesagt, dass ich wohl besser ein Ticket über Lufthansa direkt hätte kaufen sollen statt über zwei Airlines, dann hätte ich mir die Wartezeit sparen können. Toiletten im Abflug E- Bereich ekelhaft. Check-in bei Emirates unverschämt und unfreundlich. Ich solle mir mal einsparen den Koffer mit Folie einpacken zu lassen, das sei völlig unnötig. Nachdem ich ihm erklärte, dass mein Koffer leider einen Riss hat und ich deswegen die Folie gewählt habe, sagte mir der Mitarbeiter, dass ich mir dann doch einen vernünftigen Koffer zulegen solle. Als Doppelstaatsbürger habe ich mich dann auch noch mit dem falschen Pass eingecheckt, da ich es einfach nicht besser wusste. Die Art und Weise wie mir dieser Fehler übermittelt wurde war unfreundlich und frech. Insgesamt ein unmöglicher Kundenservice!

"airport is an absolute mess"

Trip Verified | Arrived from Tel Aviv to Frankfurt and had a short connection to Poznan (1 hour). Made my way straight to Zone A (schengen zone) and the cues were huge. After waiting 45 minutes and with 20 minutes or so left to gate closure, and with the line barely moving, I asked one of the personnel to help me. At no point did anyone call for short connection flights. He whisked me through to an EU passport line although my passport was Canadian. Around 15 minutes later made it to the booth only be to be turned back in a very rude and aggressive manner by the very unprofessional police border agent. I missed the flight and had to wait 10 hours for the next one, only for that flight to be delayed as well. The flight gate was changed without any announcements. This airport is an absolute mess. Avoid like the plague. This is my third or fourth time coming to this airport, and with each trip something like this has to happen. I strongly encourage you to avoid and they need to work hard to make things better if their reputation is to get better.
