"100% would never recommend United"

Not Verified | If I could, I’d give United negative stars. My flight from Raleigh to Sacramento was canceled and when I called United about changing the flight, they rudely told me that they have nothing to do with purchases and to call whomever I purchased the ticket from. When I did finally get a new ticket, I was booked on a 6.5 hour flight back home which left almost 30 minutes late and damn near made me miss my last flight. The service on this flight was so awful and sterile, they offered drinks once during the entire duration and food you could purchase. My last flight (also United) left also 2 hours late. 100% would never recommend United to anyone.

"Flight attendants were very friendly"

Trip Verified | We were upgraded to First Class on the Chicago-Providence leg of our trip. The Personal Device system worked very well with a good selection of movies to choose from. The seats were comfortable and spacious. We received warmed nuts prior to our dinner. Dinner consisted of a side salad with balsamic dressing, pesto chicken with quinoa and a slice of cheese cake. The salad dressing was light, chicken very tender and tasty. The cheesecake was very light. This flight was the 4th one of our round trip from Providence to Dallas. All 3 other flights were on A319s in Economy Plus. No frills service and all flights were on time. Flight attendants were very friendly on all 4 flights.

"we had no crew and pilots"

Not Verified | San Francisco to Austin with United Airlines. We had a weather delay of 5 hours, then the plane arrived but we had no crew and pilots. How can you not know about the weather prior to it actually occurring and adjust to it? They charge you for everything too. I'm hoping I never have to fly United again! I could drive to Austin faster next time!

"inferior to competitors"

Trip Verified | Flew United Airlines from Washington to Boston. The check-in experience is inferior to competitors, so are high costs for a premium seat and the checked-in luggage. The boarding was sped up only to be delayed for an hour before leaving.

"flights both got cancelled"

Trip Verified | Ottawa to Chicago. When I was at Ottawa my flights from Ottawa to Chicago and Chicago to Indianapolis both got cancelled. I went to the gate and the agent collected my boarding pass and the information on my flights. After that she assured me that she will rebook my flight to Indianapolis. Suddenly, she got up and made an announcement about passengers moving upstairs to rebook their flights. As the passengers were told to follow the person leading the way upstairs, she followed behind. I was with her as she clipped my boarding pass on her card board. Then when we reached upstairs I was still walking with her slowly matching her pace. We talked on the way and she only assured me that I am not to worry. I reminded her that my boarding pass is with her and she simply handed me my boarding pass. I was now the last person in the queue. I waited for 2 hrs 30 min for my turn. She was around but my turn fell in with the other representative. I explained her my flight details and college scene again. She first told me that she will book me in the flight to Indianapolis via Washington. Then she told me that she will not be able to do that because I have two separate bookings and that she is not able to merge. In fact, she also told me that she will not be able to provide me with an accommodation when the passengers right next to me on the other counter same class ticket and same flight were being provided accommodation because they spoke on the helpline phone number. Now I am in the middle of an unknown place, Ontario without a place to stay and without any flight plans for the next day even when there are seats available with United airlines.

"will never fly United again"

Trip Verified | Buffalo to Los Angeles via Chicago. I booked my flight online and I had assigned seating for all my flight. United change my flight from LAX to BUF. Now I cannot do assigned seating. I am 320 pounds and I cannot sit in the middle seat. I may now be force to book another flight and lose $200+ on my previous flight. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a flight and I will never fly United again.

"all okay and on time"

Trip Verified | Houston to Denver. No frills but all okay and on time both legs and that's most that matters besides be safe and secure. Personal entertainment did not work on first leg IAH-DEN. Would love to be more rewarded for loyal costumers more.

"shoddy customer service"

Trip Verified | Boise to Denver. How a company with such disregard for the consumer experience can survive is beyond me. Cancelled / delayed flights, overbooking punishing those who bought the tickets most recently (often due to emergency), absurd fees (flight change, baggage, minors traveling alone), and shoddy customer service (canned dismissive responses when you bring up concerns) make using this airline unbearable. I have sworn to never fly them again regardless of the cost difference. It is not worth it.

"not recommend this airline"

Trip Verified | Portland to Houston. We planned a normal flight and didn't realize there was a difference from "basic economy" and economy (let it be known when leaving this review there isn't even an option for "basic economy", just first class, business class, premium economy, and economy), and when I arrived for my flight I was forced to check my bag because a carry on and a personal item are not included, only a personal item. This forced me to pay an additional $30 for my already expensive flight. I would not recommend this airline to anyone unless they are planning a short trip where they don't need to pack actual cloths, otherwise you'll be blindsided by the additional fee(s). I've flown with several airlines and have never checked a bag, all other airlines allow a personal item and carry on. No one should be forced to read through all the fine print to realize a personal item and carry on is not included on an economy flight. I would not recommend United Airlines to anyone and will not be using their services in the future. 1/10.

"I will never fly them again"

Trip Verified | Hartford to Tampa via Washington. Worst airline ever. The staff is rude, nobody cares about the passengers, etc. I bought a ticket and was not told I would have no choice of seat until after it was paid for. I have an anxiety disorder and of course was given a middle seat. Knowing I was going to have a panic attack, I tried to resolve this before the flight. Needless to say, United could have cared less and needless to say, I sure indeed had a panic attack in the middle of my flight. It was humiliating and could have been avoided if this airline cared. I will never fly them again, I don't care how much I have to spend next time!
