Not Verified | Dallas to Newark . Staff very rude and uncooperative. Flying United Airlines first time on an international route and even before boarding my experience with them has been below par. I don’t think I will fly them again.

"did not receive a text or email"

Trip Verified | I had an awful experience with United Airlines flying from Houston to Greenville. I arrived early to my gate and without prior notice, the gate changed. I did not receive a text or email notification of this change. An hour prior to departure, the screen in the terminal read the Gate at which I was located. When we were not boarding, I realized the gate had changed (within the hour). Long story short, I missed my flight and the crew did not acknowledge their lack of communication during this time. I am not impressed with the professionalism and service of United and will take my business elsewhere.

"United has a near monopoly"

Not Verified | United Airlines delayed my flight from Sacramento to Madison because they didn’t plan to give their crew enough rest. Rebooked me on an earlier 5:45 am flight but did not tell me. The text they sent told me my flight was at 8:15 am. Something like this happens almost every time I fly United. I’d choose another airline, but United has a near monopoly at many regional airports. Even the crew were complaining and surly.

"chances are it won’t be on United"

Trip Verified | Washington to San Jose via Chicago. Overall, the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. On my flight I shelled out nearly ten bucks for a cheeseburger which was nothing more than a microwaved rock, very dissatisfied. Total ripoff. No wifi or entertainment. Upon the plane parking in San Jose, I and many other travelers were left to walk down the street totally blinded about where to go to get our bags. Multiple terminals later and on the verge of tears, I found the baggage claim across the street. I don’t even have words for that. As someone with asthma and other health issues, walking that far and not knowing where to retrieve my bag was pretty upsetting. Not cool. Try telling the family member who is picking you up that you don’t know where you are however, you are walking multiple blocks to find out where to obtain your bag. I don’t travel much these days however, when I do, chances are it won’t be on United.

"I would never recommend them"

Trip Verified | Rochester to Chicago. This is my first and last experience with United Airlines, they caused me to pay for my bag since they have different policy on their economy tickets, then I purchased two tickets for 2 different passengers and they were no where close to one another - terrible customer service at the gate. I would never recommend them to anyone, AA will be first choice from now on.

"extremely exhausted"

Trip Verified | Seattle to Charleston via Newark. Today I missed my sons family day because me and my wife have been stuck with no car. (In which we had reservations to pick up at 12 am after getting off the plane November 6, 2018). We didn't make it to the airport in Charleston till 1:30am they gave the car to someone else because we can't call up in the air. We have been up for over 24 hours. We are extremely exhausted and we are still sitting at this airport because we have to wait until a car comes available. Oh by the way it's 10:50 am November 7, 2018 I can't even think straight anymore so disappointing. The most important thing in my sons life and i missed it.

"don’t have WiFi on the plane"

Trip Verified | Angeles to Cincinnati via San Francisco. I flew 6 different times with United Airlines in the last few days and not one single flight has a working WiFi and all the staff said the same exact excuse. This misleading and false advertising they sold us a service with WiFi and they don’t even have WiFi on the plane. I don’t know how they get away with stuff like this?

"Worst airline I've ever flown"

Trip Verified | Amarillo to Edmonton via Denver. Worst airline I've ever flown. Extremely bad on time performance. My flight from AMA to DEN was delayed for over 3 hours which would have resulted in me missing my connection in Denver. I had to reroute through Houston and ended up over 5 hours late. Every airline has delays but I have had more flight delays due to mechanical issues on United than any other airline by a large margin, both in total number and percentage. I bring an extra change of cloth when flying United because i can never trust it will get me to my destination on the same day. Only reason I still occasionally fly United is due to limited selection of airline to several smaller airports I have to fly into for work. I would never fly United for any personal trips nor would I recommend this airline to anyone else. To me, if i can't get there by another way, it is not worth going. Even for work, I am seriously considering flying into other airports up to 5 hours away on Delta and drive from there. It is that bad.

"made us check in our Carry ons"

Trip Verified | New Orleans to Newark. I have purchased tickets on line from United air web site in economy we got to the airport they treat us like the enemy because we purchased economy tickets then made us check in our Carry ons and charged us for them. When we tried to talk to that lady that was checking us I was told to file a formal complaint, as we were under the understanding that we can have one Carry on each. The manager walked away and would not talk to us. Just walked away like we were not there. Very rude to have someone like that to represent United Airlines, I was very disappointed in United. It took one hour and fifteen minutes just for the attendants to come around with water and that is on a two hour flight.

"been a horrible experience"

Trip Verified | On October 31st 2018 I had a flight booked through United Airlines to return to Baltimore from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Booking through United Airlines was the worse mistake I’ve ever made. Once we left SJD airport (Cabo) at 12:05 pm everything seemed normal until we got closer to (IAH) Houston we were suppose to arrive there at 4:30 pm to make it to our connecting flight at 7:45pm and we were supposed to reach our destination at 11:38 but the pilot said we had to go to San Antonio for a little bit until the storm cleared up when we landed in San Antonio to get more fuel he then told us that since he exceeded the maximum number of hours to fly for the day which was 12 hours that we had to wait for the new crew to board which will take about 45 minutes. So went through customs as instructed and got some food because they told us that we won’t be able to leave until 8:15 pm. While waiting the airline staff told us that they will have to reschedule our flight but they will put us in a hotel room once we reach Houston, TX.Then we start waited and they they boarded us on the plane around 10 pm to wait some more. Finally we take off around 10:30 pm and reach Houston around 11:30 and we spoke with a customer service representative and she said they will not give us a room because it was weather related but the pilot told us he ran out of hours to fly for the day. So then we got stuck staying in the Houston airport overnight waiting for our flight at 12:00pm. Then around 10:00 am I received notification that our plane wasn’t going to arrive until 2:06 since they had to find a plane for us. So then I spoke with another rep and she said they weren’t going to do anything for the inconvenience or even offer a food voucher. And we were stuck at the airport with nothing since our bags already made it to Baltimore. The thing that makes me even more disgusted is the fact that my cousin that flew through Southwest leaving a few minutes after us was able to get from Cabo to Houston without any delays and she made it back to BWI by 11:45 pm on 10/31 while me and my other 3 cousins made it to BWI at 5:30 pm on 11/1. This has been a horrible experience all together and the staff of United is very unorganized and they lie and tell their passengers anything to get them hush while not delivering on their promises. I will never ever fly with United Airlines ever again and believe me my family and friends will not fly with them either.
