"kept awake by the staff in the galley"

(United States)

Boston to London Gatwick and this was my first and last flight on Norwegian. I fly every 90 days to Europe. The airlines I have used are Icelandair, BA, Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic, Aer Lingus, Delta and KLM. I most often use Icelandair to Europe, and Aer Lingus to the USA. The new premium economy class on the B787 from Norwegian was worth a try, it seemed. I regret the trip. My 3 priorities are safe, on-time, and quiet on the red-eye flight to Europe. Every carrier I have flown is safe. Every one is on time. The seat, the service, the composure of the flight attendants is the difference. The chatter by the flight attendants on Norwegian was difficult to imagine. From 50 minutes into the flight until our descent, 5.5 hours later, I was kept awake in seat 5C by the staff chatter in the nearby galley. Of the last 30 flights to or from Europe, this flight was the only one that I wished I had never been on.

"flight out was excellent"

(United Kingdom)

Flew Norwegian from Gatwick to Dubrovnik on the 15/06/2016 returning on the 25/06/2016. The flight out was excellent - welcomed by crew, had snacks, free wi-fi and arrived over 20minutes early. The return flight no welcome, and on going to our seats somebody was sat in them, there was a cabin crew member stood there who said nothing, it was the person sat in our original seat who told us to into the row behind as he had a prosthetic limb, and could not sit in the emergency exit seats behind surely this was the cabin crews job to tell us about this. Shortly into our journey we had a bit of turbulence so the seat belt sign came on and stayed on a very long time the turbulence only lasted about 10minutes. Eventually the trolley service started and when it reached us in row 14 no sandwiches left. We arrived at Gatwick approx 20 minutes late and then to wait 20minutes for a stand and when we did get a stand crew not interested in saying goodbye - poor return crew.

"no room for our luggage"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | The outward and return trip from London Gatwick to Copenhagen with Norwegian were each about 20 mins late departing but did the job and got to the destinations without any problems. However, on the return flight we had an issue never encountered in flying before. We walked from row 1 to row 21 very slowly as a full flight and folk putting their hand luggage up. Having arrived at row 21 we had difficulty finding anywhere for our hand luggage. The air stewardess said very tersely that there was no room for our luggage and that I had to return to row 1 and give in my luggage for the hold, even though it was not oversized. There was a whole queue of people behind me and this was physically impossible. I explained to the stewardess this was not possible to do. She was so extremely rude telling me did I want to fly or didn't I. Eventually my daughter and I did find some space for our luggage but the stewardess should have helped not be so very rude.

"worst experience of customer services"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | We were diverted from JFK to Boston because of storms and then, after sitting on the tarmac for four hours, we were abandoned into a closed airport at midnight with no information or help as to how we should go about getting to New York. Someone at the airport told me (at around 1.30 am) that the Norwegian Airlines staff typically don't arrive until late in the afternoon. I eventually managed to book a train that got me into New York at 9 am (some 13 hours after we'd been due to land). Two weeks on, I'm still waiting for a confirmation of the problem that would allow me to reclaim the costs of train tickets from Boston to New York on my insurance, let alone any offer of compensation from the airline. After one week, I got a confirmation that acknowledged that there was over a four hour delay on the flight but - extraordinarily - failed to mention that it had landed at the wrong airport. Attempts to contact customer services generate a response saying that they are very busy and will reply as soon as they are able. I'm still waiting. In brief, this is a cheap airline and the flight was OK until the disruption to landing (the food is awful but you can take your own and if you need a blanket, they let you pay for one on the plane). However, I wouldn't risk flying with them unless you have a credit card and are able to take the hit yourself if something goes wrong. Giving them one star for ground service feels far too generous - there is no ground service. The fact that there were storms is clearly beyond the airline's control. The way that they treated their passengers subsequently, however, was (and continues to be) appalling. This is my worst experience of customer services in almost thirty years of air travel.

"wi-fi was not working "

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | London Gatwick to Tenerife South with Norwegian. At boarding, surprisingly the ground staff started to fill up the plane via the corridor by calling the front rows instead of the aft seats. The flight departed after a 1 hour delay, but arrived just 15 minutes after ETA. On-board wi-fi was not working or was not available on that particular aircraft.

"was nice and professional"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | Tenerife South to London Gatwick with Norwegian. Flight departed and arrived in time, the on-board wifi worked perfectly and let me send e-mails, checking facebook, chatting and browsing without any issue during the whole flight. Cabin crew was nice and professional. Videos were being played on the overhead screens with subtitles to those who do not have headsets.

"you get what you pay for"

(United Kingdom)

Flew Norwegian from Gatwick to Copenhagen. Ok, so it is cheap there is no doubt. But my goodness, you get what you pay for. Quite a long delay, which they would have known about at check in because it was due to poor weather all day and the plane was late coming in. Even then, took off later than the re stated delayed time. Very cramped, hot and uncomfortable. Brusque and surly cabin crew selling over priced snacks. £2 small bottle of water anyone? Would not use this airline to fly long haul. I would recommend them only if money is your main concern but even then shop around as, frankly, I wish I had paid the extra few quid to fly BA from Heathrow which also happens to be considerably nearer our house.

"the seats are okay"

(United Kingdom)

New York JFK to Stockholm. This is a very unorthodox product. You have to balance a economy concept of Qatar Airways and the business class of airlines like AA, KLM, SAS etc - overall Norwegian gets a 8 out of 10 from me. Check in Business like, not very friendly, but quick, when the lady had at last found our online ordered and paid for extra luggage. Norwegian uses Korean Air lounge at JFK. and the lounge is not very glamorous. The seats are okay. The food is below par. No hot food, just a instant noodle soup. Onboard the flight seats are 2-3-2. The seats are wide anyway, just that when max reclined to 45 degree it is like having a economy seat in your face. Food not bad. In fact the best steak I got in 35 years, just why not spent a extra $10 and serve it a bit fancy. Now it was served in a non green lunchbox.

"contradictory and poor information"

(United States)

Verified Review | I will never fly Norwegian again. I arrived on Sunday at London Gatwick to catch my flight to New York JFK and after three hours of confusion, I and many other passengers were told that no one with a British passport could board the plane because of a communication failure with the US immigration authorities. Whilst this affected all airlines and was not the fault of Norwegian, there were three hours of Norwegian staff providing contradictory and poor information and advice to passengers, who were queuing repeatedly on advice from staff, only to be told that they were in the wrong area. In addition, because Norwegian has no partner airlines, the closest flight I and many of the other people could fly on was two days later, resulting in missing two days of work. This was not an isolated failure. It came two weeks after my parents' flight from JFK to Gatwick on Norwegian had to stop in Shannon because of a plane part that needed replacing, resulting in a delay of at least ten hours while the replacement part and engineer was driven from Dublin, and a replacement crew was found as the original crew had finished their shift. Again, if Norwegian was partnered with other airlines, perhaps the delay would not have been this long. I have never written a negative review before but feel a duty to inform people about these experiences and the downsides of using an airline with no partners.

"would never use Norwegian again"

(United Kingdom)

London Gatwick to Barcelona with Norwegian. Absolutely disgusting was due to fly at 11.35 and it's now 19.45. Still waiting at Gatwick for this flight. No information given and when I call the airline they tell me the flight is still departing at 20.00. My grandson is in tears as it is only a short break. Would never use Norwegian again.
