"overall a good airline"

Hong Kong to London Heathrow with Cathay Pacific. The flight was late on departure and arrival. I had a bulkhead seat with a lot of leg space in front of me. Cabin crew was okay, not particularly attentive but helpful. We were served hot dinner (choice of three) and a hot breakfast before arrival, both were of reasonably good quality for economy class. I found the seat comfortable in the upright position, but extremely uncomfortable when reclined. IFE was good with a good choice of movies. Overall a good airline.

Sydney to London via Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific. Very comfy seats, which reclined well. Movie choice was the best I've had on a long haul flight. Lot of very recent films. Cabin staff good and brought round regular soft drinks. Food a little hit and miss but altogether not bad. Only downside, I found it quite cold on the aircraft. Was glad I had two sweatshirts to put on. Blanket provided, so wasn't a problem. Would fly with them again.

"did not allocate a bassinet"

Cathay Pacific Airways from Los Angeles to Mumbai via Hong Kong with my husband and 2 kids (6 year old daughter and 7 month baby boy). From LAX to Mumbai the seats assigned were first row near bassinet - 2 corner seats and the middle seat was assigned to a guy, with and my 6 year old seat was assigned a seat behind. When we reached Mumbai on monday morning our luggage did not arrive - it arrived tuesday evening, and the stroller came after 4-5 days. From Mumbai to LAX, they did not allocate us a bassinet from Hong Kong to LAX (15 hours flight) - they said there are 4 babies, but we had made request for bassinet 4 months ago. In reality, in the first row there were 3 adults sitting in that place with no infant. I would never fly Cathay again.

"felt ripped off"

Hong Kong to Doha in business class I got the worst round trip ever. The airplane was outdated, you have the full lay flat seats, but you can see that it's best years where in the 80's. The inflight entertainment did not work correctly. The service is friendly, but not that bad. The special meals in business class were abominable. Economy food is better. And they served chicken 3 times on the flight - appetizer, main and again for arrival. When I wrote to complain they offered me a voucher of $100 For thousands of dollars spent I felt ripped off.

"a Happy Birthday card"

Cathay Pacific Airways from Kansai to Hong Kong. Check-in was smooth, but lounge is very poor compared in KIX. Old seat configuration and uncomfortable. As the flight was leaving at 9:30am we had a breakfast service. I asked for 2 glasses of Champagne for us as it was my birthday, and immediately the crew put a bottle at our disposal. Second surprise, a Happy Birthday card was given to me, signed by all crew, cockpit included. I was moved. Plus little cakes. And a renewed Happy birthday when leaving the plane.

"fairly good experience "

Hong Kong to Kansai return. Outbound on a Boeing 777-300. A fairly nice flight but not entirely satisfied. Staff were quite helpful and the inflight entertainment system was amazing. Touch screen easy to use and there were a wide range of movie choices provided. The flight was punctual. The pasta meal on this flight was a disaster. The seat was a shell seat and it was impossible to recline backwards. Instead, you slide forward. The return trip was on the oldest Boeing 777-200, but the flight was better as the seat was a new reclining seat. The same entertainment system despite the age of the aircraft. Cabin crew were indifferent but provided fairly good service. The meal (pork noodles) on this flight was delicious - a huge difference with the first flight. This flight was punctual despite air traffic controls. Fairly good experience with CX.

"crew were efficient"

Check in at Manchester fast, efficient and friendly with Cathay Pacific Airways. Departure from Manchester to Hong Kong about one hour late due to electrical fault, crew kept everyone informed. Completely full flight. Food ok though nothing special. IFE a bit limited compared to Emirates or Singapore Airlines. Both main course choices ran out by the time crew reached our seats, only a vegetarian pasta left, however the attendant went out of his way to find a spare non-vegetarian main course from the galley at the back of the plane. Crew were efficient, call buttons answered promptly however the meal services were very rushed considering the length of the flight with crew running up the aisles and trays almost snatched away as people were still finishing their meals. Unable to make up time so arrived Hong Kong about an hour late, however there appeared to be plenty of staff at the arrival gate to assist passengers with tight onward connections. Fares a bit more expensive than options via the Middle East carriers, however the time saved by flying nonstop was well worth the extra money.

"courteous helpful and friendly"

Sydney to Paris via Hong Kong return. I wish to compliment Cathay Pacific staff inflight and the ground staff on my trip. I found them to be most courteous, helpful and friendly. My flights to and from France were on time. The choice of meals was good, the toilets were clean and no hassles. The cost of the ticket was competitive but it was the staff who impressed me the most and I will fly again with Cathay Pacific.

"best seats in the world"

San Francisco to Hong Kong and my fourth time using Cathay Pacific business class. Check in was fast and efficient. The lounge at San Francisco was relatively new and modern although it could have been a bit bigger. Boarding was on time and orderly. The seats seemed new and were very private. In my opinion these are the best business class seats in the world. They reclined flat and were extremely comfortable. Departure was on time and the meal service was done in 75 minutes. The meal was tasty and filling. The flight attendants were all professional and kind. We got to Hong Kong on time and needless to say I had a very good flight. Would definitely try it again.

"never use again"

Manchester to Denpasar via Hong Kong. First time I travelled with Cathay Pacific and it'll be the last. No problems on outbound trip, but on return in Bali, got to gate and found flight to Hong Kong cancelled till next day due to bad weather. I would have been at least 36 hours late and would have missed days work. Gate staff were only interested in handing out hotel vouchers and not interested in making alternative flight on other carriers leaving that evening. Was told that no seats available. I pointed out that there were spaces on Emirates flight the same evening. Blank expression. Getting nowhere so booked on Emirates and paid 500GBP per ticket. Complained when I got back. Complaint ignored then told I'd be getting return leg refunded. Today received £60 tax refund. Atrocious. Will never use again. Unsure of why they are rated so highly as the outbound service was average at best
