CAI-DXB in Economy, seat 29K. Flight was delayed by more than 30minutes on departure. Food is still generous in size, but the quality going down dramatically. Seat was very uncomfortable. About 45min late on arrival. An eternity to have the luggage delivered on the carousel as usual at terminal 3. $500US for that leg only is stealing.

DEL-DXB-MAN. Boeing 777-300ER cramped seating. Crew shows a grin if a second drink is requested. Emirates should maintain their service standards as have been in the past.

HAM-DXB-BKK B777-300 ER. My first experience with EK in First class and was excellent. FA's (3 for up to 12 pax in F) were very attentive. Lounges in HAM and BKK very good, in DXB showers but no hairdryer in F Class Lounge! The seat is not as comfortable as some competitors, but good enough for sleep. Very good value for money and I will use them again.

Glasgow-Dubai-Mauritius return. The seats are narrow as many people have commented but two out of the four flights were only half full. Meals as good as othereconomy services I have used, attentive and pleasant staff with many nationalities. Exceptional entertainment systems make the long journeys at least bearable. We would agree that 3x3x3 seating (as against the 3x4x3) on the 777 would make life more tolerable for the economy passengers. The transfer at Dubai was fairly easy in both directions and access to the VIP lounge in Mauritius, although traveling economy, was the icing on the cake!

Brisbane-Singapore return B777 300ER. 2.45am out of Brisbane and crew had the sense to leave us to sleep until 2 hours out of Singapore, then served breakfast. A very acceptable mixed grill. Aircraft very lightly loaded, I thought FAs were good. On the return flight very heavily loaded aircraft but we had 2 meals plus 3 drinks runs. Aircraft was clean, food was fine beer was cold and I'd not seen the movies on offer. The only blot on the flight was a young mother changing her offsprings nappy on a nearby seat, someone else has to sit there later! And of course the screaming kid thing, both not really the airlines fault.

The status of Emirates is fading out. Aircraft are always full, configuration of the 777 is a bit narrow to the side. Transfer in Dubai under time pressure is often a mess. Crew change from excellent to very poor. Either the whole crew is good or the whole crew is terrible. The older aircraft showing small technical problems which are obviously not repaired for longer time. Such as headset plug in is broken, seats are defect etc. Food is good and interesting international choice. Entertainment is the best. However it looks like this airline have been grown too fast to get the problems under control.

Return flight from LGW to MNL via Dubai. Excellent quality planes, IFE and staff on all legs. Particularly good staff from MNL to Dubai as I was sick. The staff were kind and thoughtful and found us 4 empty seats at the back of the plane so that I could lie down.

Auckland-Sydney-Dubai-London in 1st Class A380. Comfortable seats and excellent food. ICE information and entertainment systems also very good; two huge bathrooms (with showers) were sensational - however when my wife tried to use the showers there was no water - so not much good really. The big let down aside from the delays getting into and from Dubai due to fog - was the horrible, user unfriendly control console - used for adjusting the seat, ICE systems and just about everything else. Its a wireless unit the size of a paperback novel and frankly on all flights it was totally useless. FAs spent huge amounts of time with passengers - trying to get the thing to work properly. It really has complicated a very simple application and I hope Emirates bin the thing as soon as possible.

LGW-DXB-BKK, BKK-SYD-CHC, AKL-SYD, SYD-DXB-LGW in business class. Emirates have an excellent business class product, including chauffeurs in most destination (to / from home or hotel). Excellent food and wine and great inflight entertainment. All flights on time or early and aircraft used (except LGW-DXB as a last minute aircraft switch) had the new business class seats which are very comfortable. The crew efficiency and care did vary, from outstanding to really quite poor. Great crews on the way to Christchurch. Poorer crews back from Auckland to Gatwick - on Sydney to Dubai flight the service was so poor that about 7 hours in (it's a 14.5 hour flight) I gave the flight purser some frank, but polite and sober, feedback that the business class purser was not doing his job, and neither were the crew. She came and took charge of the cabin, and the difference was very apparent. The trouble with Emirates is Dubai Airport. It looks great, but the business class lounge is huge but still at peak time you can't find seats, and there are way too few toilets. The procedure for transiting between flights is stressful, particularly if you arrive on a remote stand and your connection time is tight. Emirates ground staff seem efficient - we had only 55 minutes between landing and departure, and despite feeling stung out by the transfer experience, our bags made it. I will use Emirates business class again as the service is good value for the price paid. But I will better prepare myself for the hell that is Dubai airport when transiting.

BKK-DXB-BKK Business Class B777. Fast Track Immigration a disaster, I exited back through security and went non-fastrack to save time. Emirates lounge excellent. Business Cabin was full with free upgraded economy passengers, Cabin service was awful and unattentive, meal was reasonable but main course was not served with any flare and resembled an economy meal. The seat was reasonable but 2-3-2 configuration is awful - if you have an aisle seat you don't expect to have to stand up to make way for people in the middle. Flight uneventful and entertainment was okay. This was a daytime flight so peace and quiet was not an issue. Arrival at Dubai fine, Chauffeur drive service to hotel was efficient. Return, Web check-in was offline so could not check-in online, I called to confirm time of Emirates hotel pick-up to be called by call center staff "a liar" and they said I hadn't booked one and it was too late now. Arrival at the new business check-in great, porters took luggage from vehicle and no queues at immigration or security. Again on this flight Business class was packed with free economy upgrades and it was clear that approx 7 were in Business class due to their association with particular ground staff - the group of 7 were thanking the ground staff who entered the aircraft for "pulling strings". This was a 6 hour night flight departing at 11pm to arrive at 8am - I was devastated to be told that they would be serving dinner! Again the cabin crew did not even make an effort to pretend they enjoy their jobs. So after almost 2.5 hours of flight dinner had finished being served, so now maybe there would be a chance to get some sleep? Not so - amenities pack did not even contain ear-plugs and the cabin crew were not interested in the fact that there was a passenger from First Class stood in the aisle talking very loudly to his wives sat in business class - it was clear that the entire cabin was enraged by this guy, but Cabin crew did nothing (if you could even get them out of the galley that is). After having no sleep on the flight, it was almost time to land. Now even in economy class they would be round with coffee - not the case in business, I realised that they would not be offering coffee so I asked for a cup, - then other passengers realised the same and asked for coffee only to be told we are landing and it was too late. I will never fly Emirates again. I think the flight would have been better in Economy class!
