LHR-DXB-SIN-DXB-LHR a couple of weeks ago on business. From next month I'll get a say in who I fly with - it won't be Emirates again. From beginning to end, the product was inconsistent. Bag dropped off at LHR fairly quickly, but lounge dated, crowded and had an extremely poor selection of food and drink. Onboard, some staff were clearly harassed and over-worked while others stood in galley chatting - both sets were rude. Drinks orders were routinely forgotten, food service slow and sloppy - and the seat wasn't all that great. For the same price I could have flown with QR or AF. Transfer in DXB was stressful and involved being bussed around the (new) airport! All in all, I arrived in SIN tired, hungry and stressed. Not really worth the £2.5k price tag! The airline is clearly over-stretched.

YYZ-DXB-AMM-DXB-SYD-CHC and AKL-BNE-DXB-YYZ. Booked Economy, but sold upgrades for YYZ-DXB and SYD-CHC and complimentary upgrades to Business for DXB-SYD and DXB-YYZ. Crew and quality of food almost excellent, especially in Business. IFE excellent. Terminal one lounge in Dubai good (Silver member access), Sydney lounge excellent. I prefer the 777 long-haul Business seats to those on the A380.

Cabin crew were in their own world, preferring to stand around in the food preparation areas and chat to each other about their love lives. I was on EK500. There was one air hostess who appeared to be attending to several blocks of passengers herself whilst the others just seemed to be standing around doing nothing but chatting. One passenger had the call light on so long he walked to their food prep area and asked for some water to which one of the air hostesses pointed to the bottle and said 'help yourself'. I last flew with Emirates 4 years ago and was very disappointed to see how an airline with such class and potential has seemingly lost its way. I will be trying a different airline and do not propose to fly Emirates again.

I am Emirates Silver Member. Never had any issues until my last trip LHR-DXB-HYD. Made pre- selection of seats to get extra leg room. I made online check in but my seats were changed without my knowledge. Cabin crew could not accomodate my request to find me my requested seat. Meal request not taken into consideration although request made well in advance over the phone and online. Offloaded at boarding gate, 15 minutes prior to departure from DXB as was very upset again my seat was changed. Ground staff and duty manager very rude and unhelpful. Will never fly again with Emirates!

LHR-DXB-SIN economy. A fairly loyal customer to Emirates, this trip was the breaking point to persuade me to try Qatar Airways (glad I have!). Emirates standards have gotten worse and worse in the last 3 years, and once you strip away the surface bling and glitz of their marketing, the end result is a degenerating customer experience. Seat comfort has declined, onboard the FA's are now so variable (from good to simply awful) and the cabin service is now slow, often grumpy and very complacent. I don't have the privilege of flying in first or business class, and have to speak as I see it in the ordinary part of the plane. Don't get me started on the rude and dismissive airport staff they have in Dubai. I flew back on Qatar Airways and the difference is like night and day to Emirates. Although Doha airport involved bussing in and out (as many of my Emirates flights have done), the rest of Qatar Airways economy service was simply excellent. Friendly and efficient staff, better food than Emirates, and what most don't probably realise is that Qatar Airways IFE is actually up to the standard of Emirates bar one or two minor differences.

Mumbai to Birmingham Business Class. I have travelled these sectors over 6 times and I have to say that the only saving grace for Emirates is the lounge at Dubai Airport and Pick Up service from home. Inflight meals are not up to the mark. Very patchy quality of food. The planes from and to Birmingham are shoddy to say the least.

LHR-DXB-LHR A380, DXB-BNE A340, BNE-SIN, SIN-DXB B777. First class suites excellent in pretty much every way. A340 is a bit old and scruffy though. Food is the same as in Business class (other than caviar). Good service from cabin crew, IFE excellent with superb screens and great shots from tailplane camera on A380. Showers not just a gimmick but welcome on longer trips.

I have just flown Emirates SYD-DXB-SYD and found service, meals and seating horrible. B777 from Sydney seats were very uncomfortable with hardly any leg room, and cabin crew were rude and arrogant. One of the crew members kept on rolling her eyes everytime a passenger rang the service bell. She would simply ignore it by deleting it from the screen and keep hanging out in the galley. The food was disgusting - Emirate need to remember that passengers cannot cut up a fatty steak with a plastic knife and that incorrect heating of food can cause food poisoning. I was waiting 35minutes outside the toilet for a crew member to finish applying her make-up after she woke up. After 7 hours they served a piece of fruit (poor considering it was a 14 hour flight), no snacks were available, I asked for a chocolate bar and they said they had none left? A380 is crowded and overrated. The ICE entertainment system is ok. I paid $2750 for this trip and even though I am a silver flyer with Emirates, will now let that lapse as I don't find it value for money. It has grown too big for the last few years, and they have lost focus on the passenger.

DXB-SFO-DXB. Emirates is an overrated company and has strayed so far away from the "customer service" light. The crew were overly arrogant and flew down the isles, while banging the trolley carts against the seats. Meals were bland and I was insulted that this form of quality was being served to business class passengers. The only thing about Emirates is their ICE system, great selections of movies and albums. If Emirates thinks that they are on the same level as Singapore Airlines, then they are in serious need of a reality check.

Emirates services at all levels, whether check-in, telephone or inflight are very inconsistent, and quality is not spectacular. Every time you just hope and pray that the staff are in a good mood, regardless if it is Economy or Business class. If lucky, you get inflight crew who are friendly, but most of them seem to feel that they are there to catwalk and not work. The only reason for choosing Emirates is their route choice in the ME region. Arrogant, rude and snappy staff attitudes are definitely not reason for choosing EK - particularly when they continue to advocate their top service and quality. Don’t expect any better service on Business class.

DUS-BKK-DUS in economy. All flights fully booked, from and to Düsseldorf an old A330-200, these are the worst seats I have had. This resulted in a terrible back pains for both my partner and I. A380 and 777-300 on BKK legs, A380 excellent and seat pitch good, but Qantas is more spacious. Then the B777 with it's 3-4-3 layout is a laugh, my shoulders rested outside the seats and the food carts bumped my shoulders constantly, not a surprise with those narrow aisles. FA's couldn't bother to excuse themselves instead they rewarded me with a look I shouldn't have such wide shoulders. DUS-DXB service efficient and lots of drink rounds, wine was good. Emirates should get a more constant level of service and decent cabin layout to get back to levels of service from a couple of years ago!

SYD-DXB-LGW, LGW-DXB-SYD. I fly Emirates from Australia to the UK/Europe but recently I am finding the price of flights can vary quite a lot. A year ago a Business Class return on this route was a AUD4k cheaper than it is today. Service varies between the sectors due to A380 crew receiving different training and providing different service than B777 crew. That's not to say that you necessarily get better treatment on the A380. This trip was pretty average and Business Class was empty on the return DXB-SYD A380 - perhaps this is because there are 3 flights a day with varying routings from DXB-SYD or because the prices are now a lot more expensive than in previous years. Dubai Lounge is ridiculously large with disorganised filthy dirty shower and toilet arrangements. Food is average. Sydney and London lounges better layout although the reception at Sydney often has a very rude woman manning it. A380 DXB-SYD needs to have its departure time changed, it's always delayed on the ground (usually on the plane) due to the Sydney Airport curfew, so why not just re-schedule it to leave later.
