Delta is my usual airline for the JFK-SFO route, so I have flown them for years, though not
without hesitation. Delta's service is at best, inconsistent. Their pricing is very
competitive for this route and most of the time, they get the job done. Flights are on time
more often than not (which is not a given, considering JFK delays) but their cabin crew is
typically disinterested and unfriendly. Customer service over the phone with this airline is
the worst I've ever experienced, and I'm an Elite member. On the other hand, their airport
personnel are generally fine. Plane cabins are clean in my experience, and they do offer more
features and nicer seats than most domestics. Don't expect much from Delta, and they will
deliver, but they have a long way to go to reach customer service standards of some of their
competitors.

My daughter was booked on Delta from Little Rock via Atlanta to Munich. She showed up at the
airport on time, checked in her baggage and got a boarding pass. Then she proceeded to the
departure gate. Departure was not announced, there was no call for the flight, no final call
with her name. The flight was closed and left without her, but her bags on board. Although it
was not her fault, she had to change the booking of her flight for USD200, had to fly one day
later, via Paris, with additional delay of a total of 38 hours. Delta does not answer on
complaints and request for refund, sent in three times now in different ways. Customer
service is simply non existent.

My wife and I flew Business Elite Manchester to Atlanta and onto Las Vegas. MAN-ATL on a full
B767-400. I am 240lbs and 5ft 10ins tall and the seat was fine - it wasn't the new lie flat
seat. I would recommend you avoid all Business Elite seats in Row 1 on this aircraft - seats
are close to the bulkhead and you will get noise and light from the galley. We had seats 2F/2G
and these were perfect with 60 inches of legroom. The food was great with very good wines,
AVOD with lots of film, music and game choices. The only thing that was not good was the PA
system - you could not hear any of the announcements from cabin crew or Flight Deck. ATL-LAS
in First Class was good on a Boeing 757 - First Class seat was good 20 inches width and 38
inches legroom. I would again recommend you avoid the front rows in the First Class cabin on
these 757's. Delta Lounge at concourse B in ATL was fine, not overcrowded and comp drinks. We
will certainly fly Delta Business Elite Class again.

LGW-ATL-LGW. A330-300 fairly new. The entertainment system was very poor. The food was
terrible. If the flight crew had smiled just once it would have been nice, they didn't want to
engage in any conversation whatsoever. I would be hesitant about flying with them again.

LAX-SYD-LAX last week. Service onboard was pretty good. Plenty of FA's in 70 percent full
cabin. Seem to be only 2 really working hard. - others never seem to pick up a thing. Food
good and wine selection fine. I had same crew coming back, and the same FA again on the
return, 50 percent full Biz cabin. I think Delta could vary the menu coming and going some.
Menu item almost the same coming and going. Delta will have to work harder in the long run in
my opinion to make the route for them.

LAX-MCO, TLH-BOS, JFK-LAX. They had great airfares, cheaper than anyone for our triangle
itinerary. Planes were packed, perhaps one empty seat on the four flight segments I took.
Flight attendants were overworked and had attitudes to go with it - at best they were
indifferent and many times were quite surly and rude. The planes were fair, with the exception
of the new 737 we flew JFK to LAX - it had seat back TV with a fair number of free options.
Decent and slightly pricey food - the bagel withcream cheese was the best deal on the menu at
$4. Will I fly them again? Yes, if the price is right. They have a decent, but crowded product
when they use newer aircraft. They need to get their FA's to treat their customers like
customers instead of a nuisance.

Business Elite new lie flat seats. On boarding, pillow and duvet are on the seat - storage for
these is problematic as there is nowhere to put them. I eventually found I could fit the
duvet under the seat in front and stuff the pillow between me and the wall. The food onboard
was wonderful. Although service was good, it was a bit frantic, with the attendants rushing
around - I found it to be annoying as the service could have been less frenetic. The only
problem with the dinner was the tray. I had to ask the flight attendent to help me put the
tray away. I understand Delta is in the process of rectifying the problem. The new lie flat
seat is very comfortable, but my complaint is the seat width - just 18'5 inches is very
narrow.

MUC-ATL-STL return. The transatlantic trips were smooth, planes had PTV, legroom ok in coach.
Food was not gourmet style, but what can you expect in coach nowadays. ATL-STL I preferred the
MD88 over the Embraer. For tall persons much more room than the Embraer, no food service, but
friendly staff. The big plus was connecting at ATL. Never entered the US so easily. Took 5
minutes to pass border control. The price value was good, Atlanta immigration excellent,
Inflight entertainment good (transatlantic). All this 400€ cheaper than Lufthansa or United.

Flew to Paris on Delta in coach from Atlanta on a full flight. Service was good with two
choices of meals being offered. On return flew Delta from Madrid, and upgraded to Business
class as coach was over sold. Service outstanding with three meal choices. B777-200 used
from Madrid to JFK still had the old style Delta Business Class seats, which are okay for a
seven hour flight, but the seat does not recline into a full flat bed and cannot sleep for the
entire flight.

I will neverfly Delta again! Poor communication and horrible customer service. Flight out had
a mechanical issue that they didn't make us aware of until they delayed the flight three
times, causing us to miss our connecting flight. They were unwilling to switch carriers until
I spoke with my travel agent, where she informed me there were numerous flights (American and
Southwest) that were available. Then, on the way back... they cancelled our flight and re
routed us. They delayed our new flight once by 2 hrs. Then we sat on the runway for 2.5 hours.
Once we landed in NY from DC they had lost our luggage. We were assured that we would receive
in the next morning. It wasn't until 2 days later that I received my luggage.

Departed El Paso Intl and was surprised to be bumped to first class as plane was full. Flight
to Atlanta was excellent as was the crew. Our connecting flight to London was also full. We
were assigned seats 18 F/G in coach. The people in seats 19 F/G had a two year old child who
cried, screamed, and kicked the back of our seats all the way to London. I complained to the
people but it did no good. I went up to the FA and complained she said there was nothing she
could do. We are sorry that we booked round trip ticket with Delta..
