"Brilliant service"

Not Verified | We left our car in the long term car park for 6 weeks. When we collected it the battery was flat. There was a number to ring for help on a poster in the bus stop. We waited about 30 minutes and a man came with jump leads and had us going in no time. Brilliant service.

"Rubbish technology"

Trip Verified | Rubbish technology caused 20 minute delay on fast track check in! Followed by 20 minute queue at auto baggage drop. Then a failure of the scanner resulted in a run to the excess baggage desk then 10 minute queue which in fairness was mostly manual and quick. Then a brisk walk/jog to the departure gate. So much for a relaxing start to the holiday.

"very poor punctuality"

Not Verified | For a western European airport, this is probably one of the worst I've been to in Europe, very poor punctuality, lack of toilets and seating areas, lack of food choices and overpriced.

"the worst airport I have ever been to"

Not Verified | Literally the worst airport I have ever been to. The drop off is awful and very confusing. The lines for security is so long somehow, even when there no one there. Then, the gates are miles from security, leading you on the most unnecessary, circuitous route. When we finally reached the gate our flight was canceled for an unexplained reason. The flights are cheap but the price you will pay for accommodation/rerouting if anything goes wrong is not worth it! Going out of Heathrow is far more reliable, Luton sucks.

"the good outweighs the bad"

Not Verified | Good points and bad but the good outweighs the bad! Departure, well paying a little extra for fast track does pay dividends at airports and Luton is one where its money well spent if you are travelling early morning! There was a fair size queue at the normal but a very little one for the fast track and the queue was basically the ticket check. The staff seemed happy mind it would be just after shift change so they still had a lot of the shift in front of them! Like most UK airports you have the run of the hard sell in the duty free shopping mail that leads you out in to the seating and food area. We were able to find a seat with a view of a monitor fairly easy and a short walk to a cafe to get a take away coffee. Yes, there was a slight queue but I cannot understand why people get upset when they are asked to show there boarding pass in the shops. But maybe if you have been drinking for a few hours it could be the reason. The departure gates seem to be assigned now to airlines and are set up for Priority Boarding and normal boarding, so it a case of getting into the correct queue and the staff were very helpful in checking the boarding passes at the start of the gate queuing system. Boarding was well controlled and well managed. Arrival into Luton was again, quick and well managed. With it been a Sunday evening the queuing system at the border control was well managed and gate were been opened has needed. So a plus point, all the epass gates were working and open, and people were been directed to vacant desks and staff were quick to deal with people who do not understand the idea of waiting your turn in a queue. The only two negatives, were the queues for the toilets and the lack of common sense at the coach queues where people were trying to walk though queues to get to the car park went there are now brand new signs telling where to go for the rail link, National Express, Green Line, Car parks etc.

"wouldn't recommend this airport"

Trip Verified | Really bad signalling. Huge queue to get a shuttle ticket. Shuttle takes only cash and the exact amount. I wouldn't recommend this airport at all. Staff unfriendly on top of all.

"very positive"

Trip Verified | I read the many reviews and people are complaining so much. My experience of Luton which I arrived in today from Prague was very positive. The place was heaving but the queues moved quick. It's not a fancy airport it's customers are budget carriers. What do people expect a airport like that to be? Luxury? I arrived at 17.30 and I was in and out of the airport within 10 minutes. The bus terminal to London is literally outside the terminal. The only gripe was the men's toilet was disgusting. Compared to the clean ones in Prague.

"airport is a disgrace"

Trip Verified | Automatic bag checked worked well but did not provide a receipt (I photographed label). Security a shambles. I went through metal detector (nothing), then through microwave (nothing) then asked to remove shoes then belt, which I pointed out was all plastic but still had to remove it. Then hand scanner; nothing. then pat down which found a 6 inch plastic comb. Security officer was surly and rude. The bin with my personal possessions (inc passport) had been sitting at the end of the conveyor for some 10 mins, ripe for some casual thief. Usual array of glossy shops selling rubbish; always seem the part of the airport that receives the most attention. At the boarding gate we were herded into a smaller and smaller space until people started to complain vigorously. Staff here were equally rude. I prefer easyJet to Ryanair but the airport is a disgrace.

"It isn't getting better"

Trip Verified | Outbound single queue for Easyjet bag drop very long and slow with auto-drop now in same queue. No apparent queue for speedy boarding, though we eventually found it was now same queue as Easyjet Plus, a separate subscription service. Speedy isn't a feature, so no surprise. Crazy long walk through a load of consumerism, which we will never purchase there. Having arrived with 2 hours to spare, we had little time in departures, went to gate as soon as it was displayed to find speedy boarding under way. Went through to join 20+ others, including families with buggies, queuing on stairs for half hour. Return from TLV was scheduled to be late on departure, 5 hours earlier, so delay at disembarking was inexplicalable. Luggage took 70 mins. to arrive. What an embarrassment after the efficiency of TLV. The long term car park coach caused more delay, with usual scrum, unsafe for older or smaller passengers. Whoever designed the bus area had presumably never visited the site or, probably, any airport. In all, nearly 2 hours to leave this foul place. The constant building might as well stop. It isn't getting better. We only use it because it's our nearest airport. This has to be off-set against all the negatives. We cannot believe the site owners use the airport and they certainly don't care about the reviews.

"it's such a long walk"

Not Verified | You need a taxi to get you from the drop off point to the terminal, it's such a long walk. Then walk miles to get to the gate. The gents toilets are too small if you need to sit down. There's only about 5 toilets, so you have to queue. Before you board the plane they leave you queuing on the stairs for at least 20 minutes.
