✅ Trip Verified | Frankfurt Airport still has not recovered from the pandemic fallout. There is a severe shortage of staff. On arrival we had to wait 15 minutes inside the place until they could find someone to arrange the stairs and let us deplane. Food and drinks are expensive past security. Staff when found can be friendly or sometimes just cold and tired, I can not blame them.

✅ Trip Verified | Rather underwhelming experience. Limited food offering behind security in Terminal 2. Massive queues for security, even though they only let passengers enter, whose flights depart within two hours (seems kind of smart) and there were only three flights departing. If three flights lead to one hour waiting times in an airport that has the aspiration to be Germanys largest and most important hub, something is not going right. The staff appeared rather unfriendly. The majority of them neither spoke proper German nor English, which might have contributed to the impression. WIFI didn't work. On the return flight, the airport dumped at least 50 transit baggage on the baggage claim, which of course were not picked up by anyone, clogging the entire area. One bored employee came by to shuffle them around. Embarrassing for a hub airport, moving transit baggage to the respective connecting flights rather than the terminal should be one of their core capabilities. Baggage claim took almost an hour, transfer from T2 to the long distance train by an uncomfortable bus. I will avoid Frankfurt, if I can.

Not Verified | First of all this huge building is overheated, and the whole place feels like a sauna. It's very hard to get comfortable. Then they don't tell you, you need to arrive at least 3 hours early for any international flight. When you go through security, your food choices and restaurants available are 0. You have to leave the secured area just to get a bag of chips. Not worth the time to go all the way back through security.

✅ Trip Verified | I fly out of here a lot and wish I wouldn’t have to. Every time we fly out there is something different. Either the machines are not working for the luggage or there is not enough staff to support the amount of passengers flowing through. We got to the check in counter today at 415 and they didn’t even open the kiosk till 5! Then the line to security is a mile long with maybe 5 people working the TSA. Ridiculous. The staff at the counter are friendly but the bullies trying to direct passenger traffic…not so nice! I think I may start flying out of Köln. The only good thing about this airport is the shopping but who has time for that?

✅ Trip Verified | Good airport. Horrible Staff! I have travelled and lived around the world and have never ever experienced a more unprofessionally rude, unpleasant and horrible staff as those that I experienced at Frankfurt international airport. I was flying back from Dublin to Mumbai via Frankfurt. I was supposed to transit at the B gate and a grumpy ground staff lady directing passengers on to the bus at the tarmac was incredibly rude and treated us passengers like animals. It was downright offensive and totally uncalled for. I was incredibly polite and can even speak German. Despite being courteous, I was often met with a very rude hostile attitude making my stay there rather unpleasant. Also they lack good mobile phone charging stations (Netzstecker). Many passengers complained about the same. Something tells me that I am not alone in my observation. Otherwise, the airport is ok. I much prefer Zurich airport (Switzerland), Heathrow, England or Dublin, Ireland where the staff are incredibly professional, friendly, polite and charming. More than machines and facilities, it is the people working there that ultimately define an airport experience. Something which the German Frankfurt airport staff could learn from. They need a training on how to be human and treat other humans with dignity. My overall rating for Frankfurt airport would be 3/10. 3 points because at least the airport has free WiFi and some decent places to shop and eat with clean toilets.

Not Verified | It takes a while to get out of the plane and walk to the luggage area. Kilometers of walking. Then Waiting there for luggage for more than one hour! It have taken by bag more than 1-1/2 hours to reach the belt. Such is not acceptable. FRA is an airport to avoid if possible.

Not Verified | This airport was a nightmare, I am a disabled woman that needed assistance, I went to four different employees or staff and they each told me it was not their job, I hope never to see that airport again, I was treated unfairly. The staff are truly unfriendly and rude, would not recommend that airport to anyone, I have family stationed at an army base there ,the only reason I was there. I will not ever return.

Not Verified | Excessively abrasive treatment by Frankfurt Airport bag security staff. There was literally NO SIGNAGE at security regarding plastic bag standards, limits for toiletries they require. Rude and intimidating. Gave us an unnecessarily hard time about every item in carry-on. Have never experienced this in any other country. Couldn't check bags because of a tight layover at next leg. Wait times were insane for every step of the process. An hour at boarding pass check, 2 hours at security. Pretty obvious Airport staff are bullying travelers because of their workplace issues/strikes. This is unnecessary and inhumane. We are just trying to get home. Why this chaos? Why are they overflowing capacity when they can't manage it? If they don't want us bringing any toiletries (even less than 1.5 oz) then take them from us, give us coupon equivalents and supply us with free replacements at our destination. Stop being evil and rude about it. We are people, not cattle.

Not Verified | We flew from Amman to JFK connecting in Frankfurt airport. Our layover was 5 hours so we figured we would go to the lounge to relax. The signs are horrible here we had to ask 3 different people to finally find the luxx lounge. As the lounge is a bit far from our gate Z62 we allowed ourselves plenty of time go to through security (1.5hr). It appears that every security line at every gate was easily 500-800 people with no airport staff directing the chaos. Once we got on the gate Z line there were only 2 security check doors open in the normal line but 3 doors open at the fast line. There were easily 500+ people on the normal line that barely moved meanwhile there were only handful of people on the fast line. To make it even worse they then closed one of the 2 doors in the normal line now people were really getting frustrated and angry they they were going to miss their flights. We were 20 mins from boarding time and there were at least 300-400 people in front of us. So we went straight to the fast line which surprisingly no one stopped us. As we were finally getting through security in the fast line, we realized why the lines were so long and not moving. The security staff were checking every travel size bottle people out of their bag. They were searching every person in addition to going through the X-ray machine. The girl in front of me had a jar of sauce she bought at the duty free so they pulled her bag. The security guy started questioning her. While doing they they stopped the belt altogether so NO one else’s carry ons already placed on the belt were moving! I have never seem this idiotic and inefficient process at any of the 50+ airports I’ve traveled around the world including 3rd country airports. Why couldnt a jar of sauce be dealt with in the side while the belt continues with other passengers?! They then pulled my dads bag and said he had an apple! What an apple! Then the lady goes oh our machines sometimes are sensitive. Apples are ok. None of the security personnel there seemed to care that hundreds of passengers on this line would miss their flights. I’m so appalled by the disorganization and ignorance of security check staff at the Frankfurt airport and will never connect at the airport again!

✅ Trip Verified | An offensive lady at security check. Irrespective and loudly shouting in German she had enough of it all. To top it chaotic bus boarding at the B-Gates, a mess. On the positive note: at Frankfurt they have -some- hand luggage screening devices where you don’t need to take out liquids and computers. Some progress here.
