"happy with their service"
1 reviews M Termuk (Canada)
✅ Trip Verified | Toronto to Edmonton. I am flying with WestJet almost every week. I am happy with their service in general. Unfortunately, in this flight I have checked-in 2 bags. Only on of them made it to the destination. I have no idea how this is possible on a single domestic flight. I have been compensated for the delay. Luggage has been delivered to my hotel in Edmonton 8 hours after my original landing time. During those hours Westjet was highly responsive.

"left your suitcase in Calgary"
M Keane (Canada)
✅ Trip Verified | Honolulu to Cranbrook via Calgary. My flight from Honolulu was ok if you don’t include the other rude passengers demanding we don’t tilt our seats back and yelling and screaming. We get to Calgary and wait 4 hours. The area you wait in is the worst area in the airport it is the outdoor cement where the planes park, indoors and basic keeps the rain off you. We go to get on the plane and the woman is demanding we put our little bag with our iPads and phones on the luggage cart and she wouldn’t quit. Then we get on the plane and they decide to not load my suitcase and not tell us. We get to Cranbrook and they said we left your suitcase in Calgary it was to heavy. All you have to do is put less fuel in the plane in Calgary and add some in Cranbrook. Then they charge my credit card for the bag in US dollars. That’s a sneaky trick. I booked my plane ticket 4 months in advance and they don’t put the suitcase on the plane? The suitcase was well under weight and we had a total of 4 suitcases for 5 people and the plane was over weight? They didn’t lose the suitcase just decided not to load it and there were about 6 other people out of 38 didn’t get their suitcases. WestJet should be embarrassed. Worst airline in Canada.

"another cash grab"
S Meares (Canada)
✅ Trip Verified | Toronto to Edmonton. Airline is starting to autoselect seating and charging 40$ to change to another economy seat (not a premium or exit seat, just another regular seat). This is bad customer service and another cash grab. These flights are already uncomfortable now not even allowing customers to swap similar seats on early check in. Very disappointed.

"prices are absolutely ridiculous"
L Lewis (Canada)
✅ Trip Verified | Toronto to Fort Myers. I cannot believe that an airline charges for bags. All this does is have all passengers cram everything into 3 (yes 3 pieces) carry-ons as opposed to 1 so they get it free (not saying I blame them) - but 3 items is hampering everyone else. They have their ligit bag, then a big purse and then a gift bag. Next how can the same airline charge 32.50 in CAN and yet 43.38 CAN on the return from the US. It should be a straight fee same price. The staff is getting less and less attentive and sit in the back talking about what they did on days off, and huff every time they have to attend to a customer. Flight prices are absolutely ridiculous - how can Westjet charge $400-$800 return Toronto to Florida - yet just south of the border it can be done for 49$ - you wonder why people go to Buffalo and use US airlines. You need to come up with a better plan.

"terrible response I received"
4 reviews L Worton (Canada)
✅ Trip Verified | Toronto to St Lucia. Westjet used to be one of those few corporations that Canadians - especially western Canadians - were very proud of and many have had much undying loyalty to the airline. Of late however, Westjet has changed drastically into a company with the behaviours that we abhor in the older mature companies. I had an incident regarding travel with my pet and I took it with a smile, caused no scene, but contacted customer support afterward expecting some sympathy for the occurrence. I got a form letter and a good day! I tried again and got zero response. My family and I have since flown several thousand miles and booked with the competitor AC and we were thrilled! More comfort, more professionalism, and people trying hard. We spend a lot on travel and we should like the companies we are paying to take us there. I'd like to thank Westjet for the terrible response I received to my incident as I, like many, didn't even know how good it could be on the competition!!

"Not impressed at all"
T Mackey (Canada)
✅ Trip Verified | Halifax to Toronto. Not impressed at all. I was in a bad situation. I needed to get home a d didnt have photo ID. I was still told to go to the desk. So I did. I told the agent I didnt have photo id and I wasnt sure if what i had would all work. I just wanted to get home to my mom. The guy at the desk said it's fine you won't need anything else. I got my boarding pass and off i went. Get in the back threw everything to find out what I did have was not good enough I missed my flight and was told I could buy a BC fishing license as proof of ID. So now I'm stuck at the airport with not even a bank card cause my wallet was stolen and since the airline only takes social insurance cards not the paper they now issue in Ontario I had to rebook my flight my mom had to pay more travel expenses for someone to get me and pay for the license and get me back to the airport another night. Very VERY disappointed. If we were given this information at the desk or even when we called in the morning before the flight i would've been home. The lady at the boarding desk did everything she could but it was out of her control.

"wonderful despite the problem"
Karen Bleuel (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | Montreal to Seattle via Calgary. We were scheduled to fly from Montreal to Calgary on October 11, 2018. There was a broken part on the plane which was ordered. They were kind enough to give us food vouchers. After 4 hours I think we were able to board another airline to Calgary, but we then, just missed our flight to Seattle. Our name was announced as we landed to come to customer service and we were given vouchers for the Click Hotel, vouchers for food, boarding passes for the next morning to Seattle and to Sacramento from there. We were very impressed by the airline's generosity and efficiency. We are also very grateful for how well we were cared for. We can't thank Westjet and their partners enough for a wonderful experience despite the problem they encountered with their plane.

"the worst flight experience"
M Parken (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | Boston to Gatwick via Toronto. This was the worst flight experience I have had! West Jet cancelled my flight, told me I was booked on one the next day, delayed that new flight two times, and then didn't schedule me on the new flight, and won't refund me!. My two siblings and I were trying to fly to London from Boston via Toronto. When we arrived in Toronto, we discovered our connecting flight was cancelled. We waited in line to speak with a West Jet representative for 1.5 hours and then were told to call their 1-800 number at midnight (4 hours later). While we were waiting in line, we heard two other West Jet flights were cancelled as well. When we called, we were scheduled on a flight to leave at 5pm the next day. When we arrived at the airport the next day, we discovered the flight had been delayed for another 3 hours because they decided to schedule a flight crew that needed to rest before flying again. After this delay, the flight was delayed another 45 minutes because they hadn't loaded the food yet. When we went to scan our boarding passes, we discovered that we were not registered on the flight, even though we had boarding passes, seat numbers, had checked in, and had spoken with a representative about the flight less within the last 24 hours. The woman at the gate tried to blame us and tell us were missed the flight we were really supposed to be on, but our boarding passes clearly stated that we were supposed to be on this flight. When we boarded the plane, my brother and I saw that people were already sitting in our seats. Luckily, two seats were open at the back of the plane so my brother and I were still able to fly on that flight. Ihave called West Jet to complain and all they offered was sympathy and barely any money. The slightly lower prices are not worth having to deal with this airline!

"Not impressed at all"
M Martin (Canada)
✅ Trip Verified | WestJet allowed a non fit person to board the aircraft from Punta Cana to Toronto who was already not feeling well and having a hard time breathing. This resulted in having to have an emergency landing in Atlanta for medical assistance. The crew did not come around often to serve drinks or snacks while waiting over an hour in the very warm aircraft. This resulted in me missing my connecting flight and having to wait until 3:20 the next evening to fly home. No accommodations were offered had to sit on floor in airport for 15 hours. I paid for pre-booked seats near the front of the plane and they gave me seats in the back of the plane. Not impressed at all with the service, worst trip home I have ever taken. Hotels wanting 400 dollars for the night and having to pay for food as well.

"super helpful, friendly"
R Stewart (Canada)
✅ Trip Verified | Calgary to Victoria. It was my father's first time flying! Everyone was super helpful, friendly, and caring. My dad was a little scared, but everyone on our flight was delightful. One of the male stewards went to the cockpit and talked to the pilot who said my dad if he wanted could go up to the cockpit. At first my dad was going to say no because we were on a time limit but he insisted. I even got a picture while one the other staff held my almost 4 month old. We love WestJet! Thanks for a great experience.
