Not Verified | Travelled from Saskatoon to Honolulu on 1st Oct 3023 and returned on the 9th of Nov with WestJet Airlines. Both trips were excellent. Flight attendants were both professional and accommodating. I required wheelchair in YVR which was readily available at the gate. I will definitely fly Westjet again.

✅ Trip Verified | WestJet started as a friendly airline with empowered staff and a can-do attitude. Through recent mismanagement, it's degraded into an airline with terrible reliability, awful IT, a poor loyalty program, and a product where seat pitch is tighter than the worst low cost carriers, but at full service pricing. WestJet's premium hard product is nice, but the reliability is very poor, especially if they substitute in a 737 for a 787. Their call center and ground staff are poorly trained and unable to resolve basic rebooking questions. Historically their 737's had regular seat pitch between 31-33", which was comfortable. They've reduced that to 30" and are further reducing down to 28", worse that the tightest low cost carriers. The loyalty program is a joke, and the onboard food is awful. The only redeeming quality left is that their flight attendants are typically friendly and helpful, but you can tell they're frustrated with the direction of the airline. Don't pay full service carrier pricing for this joke of an airline any more.

Not Verified | I was reprimanded by a flight crew member upon boarding the plane and was told to button my shirt up. My shirt was buttoned up to mid chest area. I had no idea that west jet would be so concerned about my attire as I was dressed in jeans, shoes, socks and a shirt. Since when is it a crime to have the top snaps of a western shirt undone!!!! I was so surprised and extremely offended by the flight attendants direct statement of button up you shirt. Really, with some of the attire I see people wearing today and I'm directed to do up my shirt which was done up. I found this particular flight crew member rude and short with all passengers he communicated with. He actually touched a sleeping passenger in the seat in front of me, scared her big time, no verbal interaction prior to touching her, I thought that was out of line as well. I found this crew member rude, short and lacking any people skills at all. I've flown West Jet flights before were the crew members were engaging, light hearted and quite a pleasure to be served by. This particular flight attendant should go take some people skill courses as he was a complete moron. I'll be looking to pay more money and take a flight with any other airline if at all possible (Flight number 2165) from Mexico to Kelowna.

✅ Trip Verified | Worst experience ever and they literally ruin my vacation both times. First time was in 2018 coming home from Mexico they did not let me board because they could not verify my ETA. It was clearly an error in their system. Super rude attendants did nothing to help and just stated that we lost the flight. Had to dispute the transaction with my credit card company to get the money back. Now, a few years later, since we already have a PR, therefore could not have a system error, we decided to give it another try. Again, they did not let us check in. First they said there was an error with my name (because it was too big for the ticket). They kept us at check in for 2h to fix this “issue”. Then they said we could not flight because it was too late to issue the ticket for my baby (but we have been there already for 2h with the baby that was included in the reservation since the beginning! When we told the manager we have been there at check in all the time he said to my face that I was not. Then I asked them to put me in the next flight and they said they couldn’t because I made the reservation with their partner (WestJet Vacation). So I was left again without a flight and without a refund. I am never again giving them a cent. And, of course, will call my cc again to dispute the transaction.

Not Verified | We flew from Calgary to Liberia on the 4th of November and from Liberia to Calgary on Nov 11th. It was a 14 hour flight there and back and with no WiFi or TV / movie options. Had I known it was going to be as excruciatingly boring as it was I would have booked a flight with another airline. What happened to inflight movies? Not even a tv or music. Nothing, just babies crying and people walking back and forth to the bathroom for 14 ridiculously long hours. Also I’m considered an averaged sized woman, what is with the tiny amount of seat space - talk about a sardine can! The lady next to me stole my arm rest so I was in some weird awkward looking/Feeling position the whole time I was on the plane. My neck hurt for 2 days after each flight. Very disappointed with my Westjet experience.

✅ Trip Verified | My ticket was issued with separate airlines. First flight from Montreal to Toronto with Porter airlines got delayed and I missed my flight with WestJet from Toronto to Montreal. The ticket was issued with two separate reference codes so WestJet refused to put me in their next flight for free - which is understandable because the flight delay was not their fault. However, the customer service ladies were extremely rude to me and pretty much said all flights are booked and dismissed me. My friend and my sister tried to call customer service to help me out and was addressed extremely rude. At least have some empathy when one of their customers or even another human being is distressed. I will never book a flight with WestJet ever again because if something goes wrong, I know this is how I'm going to be treated.

Not Verified | Not Verified | I would like to say the airline itself was pleasant. The customer service i received in the Kelowna airport however was something else. I ended up with a damaged suitcase off of the conveyor, I went to talk to the WestJet people and the response was excellent. The young man helped me get the claim started and took the time to show me how to navigate through the process. They are replacing my suitcase and is being delivered to my door.

Not Verified | This is my worst experience with WestJet. I booked my ticket in advance from Regina to Winnipeg and on the same day when i arrived they cancelled the flight and sent me the another itinerary. I accepted that and that was from Regina to Calgary and Calgary to Winnipeg. When i arrived at Calgary they cancelled my flight again and gave me the reason as unknown. Which was devastating and the reason for my travel was life-time opportunity as i had my interview. I requested them a lot, i cried in front of the guest agents at Calgary they were super rude to me. And gave me the flight for the same day tonight. I was stuck at the Calgary for 10-12 hours with no family friends and no support from the airline. However, i requested my interviewer to move my interview and he moved to following Monday. But i was coming back on Sunday as my flight was booked from 26-29 oct only. And they said future flights are not in our control. It was such a bad and terrible situation for me. I will never ever travel will WestJet. I filled out the compensation form and they responded me they can’t help me.

Not Verified | I had a round trip Calgary-Barcelona-Calgary, on Westjet Dreamliner. Sitting in a middle row economy class, it was a nightmare. I'm 5'3, 110 pound, yet I felt if I was in a cattle car, incredible tight, jammed in, not being able to reach my bag/purse under seat. In case of an emergency, the middle row is a death row. No way to get out. No way to have access to the emergency kit. I'm very disappointed. Great to have all kind of entertainment, but if the seat in front of me laid back, the screen is literally in my face, no way to see it sharply, tried it with or without glasses. Other airline company also have this beautiful aircraft Dreamliner, but they don't jammed the economy class the horrible way how Westjet does. In Canada, every public place has a safety limit, how many people it can accommodate. I wonder, how come, airplanes don't have any limit, for the profit they put just as many as they can or they want. The ticket was expensive, the service was OK, for the seat I would give zero. I'm a long time Westjet customer since the beginning of the company, or I was, since I will never fly with Westjet again. Never.

✅ Trip Verified |   Flight form Vancouver to Calgary delayed so we missed the flight from Calgary to London Gatwick. Westjet flew us to Paris (where they lost our luggage) and a flight to Heathrow (not Gatwick). On arrival in Paris, the flight to Heathrow was cancelled so we had to stay at an airport hotel overnight with no luggage. Next day we flew to Heathrow (still no luggage) and had to buy bus tickets to Gatwick. Westjet won't even reimburse us for the bus ticket saying the original delay was due to a safety issue, which means we do not qualify for any compensation. The Canadian Transportation Agency guidelines say otherwise ! So I won't fly with Westjet again, nor would I recommend anyone else to. Their lack of customer care is appalling. Food on the plane was the worst I've ever experienced. They clearly do not care what any customer thinks.
