SQ469 Colombo to Singapore on Feb 10th. Back with them after almost 4 years I had again a positive experience despite the terrible schedule out of CMB (leaving at 1.30am): brand new A330-300 great and attentive crew and entertainment system displayed on a big PTV. During my previous experience with them I remember the seats were more comfortable and softer on their B777 but the legroom is still far above average for economy and service outstanding. Arrival to Changi on time and out of the terminal in less than half an hour really a fantastic airport in terms of facilities and organization.

Flew Singapore Airlines to Yangon Myanmar return. Excellent flights - all on time. Service and leg room very good. Prefer the aircraft with the 2 seat row on the side as you don't feel so packed in. Meals were good.

Recently I traveled on B777-200ER from Mumbai to Singapore. It was a very comfortable flight. The Economy Class seats are quite comfortable with good in-flight entertainment system but yes some improvements in the system are required. The lavatories of B777-200 are way too small. It feels claustrophobic sometimes and has no window. Crew were very helpful and responsive. Overall a good option to travel long haul.

Recently travelled from London Heathrow to Singapore then Singapore to Brisbane. Travelled alone first time. Staff were absolutely wonderful on board polite and attentive. Very comfortable and food very good. Check in outstanding no wait or delays at any point even collecting cases very quick. I would highly recommend these airlines to everyone travelling long haul.

SQ319 from LHR to SIN on the 777 300ER with new business class. Generally a good flight with excellent service good food and fantastic entertainment. The big downside is the new seat / bed. This has been ineptly designed and suffers from several really irritating issues that should have been resolved before it was rolled out. The seat is wide and has no side or lumbar support so whatever position you adopt it is not good for the back and not comfortable. The armrest to one side contains the table and a a small locker. Both are opened by pushing down. As these are exactly where your arm naturally rests they keep popping up which is annoying. When flipped over into bed mode the mattress is very hard. You have to lie at a diagonal angle due to restricted length and this is not comfortable. A further problem is that seat belt when in bed mode is an inertia reel seat belt - it is far too sensitive so if you turn onto your side or at least try too it locks and stops you turning and then you have to stop again very gently pull it out before completing the turn. It is nearly a great seat and bed but suffers from too many basic flaws which could and should have been spotted and resolved by the designer. Disappointing. Other than the poor bed / seat and lack of an amenity kit a good flight.

HKG-SIN-KUL. Older plane a bit dirty. IFE on the blink. Need to get newer planes for these flight segments. Staff experience was great without complaints. Used FF but difficult to get seats and the airline surcharges were high paying like a coach seat. Had to use all FF as they were expiring and not renewable.

Recently returned from Melbourne via Singapore. The seat on the trip from Singapore to Manchester was really uncomfortable as a result I have a bruised coccyx which is still painful. The stop in Munich is a complete pain and makes for a horrendous journey time about 16 hours. Would think twice before booking with Singapore again.

MEL-SIN-MEL in January 2014 in Economy Class. Seats 39 (Aisle) on way up 34 (aisle) on return leg. 747-300 MEL- SIN the 380 on the SIN-MEL leg. Check in for this flight was very slow the flight was as a consequence 30 minutes late leaving with no apology for the delay. The plane on the way to Singapore (the refitted 747) was much more comfortable in my view than the A380. The refitted 747 is not as wide as the 380 the seats seemed to be more comfortable and certainly had better lumbar support. The service was faultless on the way up. The beverage service quite prompt and the inflight meal looked OK. A further snack was served about 1.5 hours prior to landing. The red-eye flight on the way back to Melbourne on the A380 was OK but not great. However the flight left on time the meals and beverage service was efficient and the meal was adequate if nothing special. The seat however was not comfortable - not enough lumbar support and I had back ache for some days afterwards. The blanket provided was of good quality and nice and warm. The crew were efficient as is usual for Singapore Airlines but not very friendly. One of the toilets in the economy cabin was made unavailable for passengers with no explanation as to why. Information given out by 2 crew members about the flight wasn't accurate - they said the arrival time would be 30 minutes earlier than the actual arrival time but in the end we landed on time. However we were kept waiting once we landed and had to stay on the plane at Melbourne airport. Very frustrating after a long flight. However overall having flown with a number of airlines Singapore Airlines is definitely probably one of the better ones. Both the ground staff and the cabin crew are relatively on the ball. There are loads of choices for in-flight entertainment although I wish they would make the headphones more user-friendly and comfortable to wear - after about a couple of hours they hurt my ears and I could not make them short enough to fit comfortably at all. The service is very efficient and the planes are pretty comfortable although I would not recommend the A380 for a long night flight.

Just returned from trip to UK via Manchester (from Melbourne) had ordered (and phoned prior to trip) to order special meals as have a sugar allergy. Very disappointed as the meals were hopeless. Offered me fruit coleslaw sugar-free jelly (inedible) all unsuitable. Am so disappointed that in this day and age that either a nutritionist or dietician does not oversee these 'special meals'. The cabin crew were very kind and did their best but it was woefully inadequate and on this basis am unlikely to travel this airline again.

I was a passenger on 4 flights between December and end of January 2014. Johannesburg to Singapore was good with excellent staff service and 5 star service for everything. Singapore to Adelaide the staff were less attentive. Adelaide to Singapore my return was again 5 star service. The cabin crew were visible the whole time. Singapore to Johannesburg was not a good flight. My screen did not work properly my headset was not working and as a diabetic traveller the lack of food service was panic stations for myself. As we left at 2.10 in the morning a filled bread roll for the entire flight back does not suffice. I explained to the staff that I needed to have something to eat and was afforded a small bread roll and an apple. Snacks were available but they do not take the place of a meal for passengers. Meals are necessary for diabetics and they cannot travel on snacks for 8 hours especially as the inbound flight would have also just served a snack prior to landing.
