"they need lessons in manners!"

Not Verified | New York to London. Totally shocked how non existent of customer service from the security staff checking through your hand luggage to the cabin staff (not all of them) who were so rude, unfriendly, unhelpful, arrogant andjust down right miserable and obviously not enjoying their jobs?. Such a disappointing way to finish your holiday andsuch a incredible difference from British Airways on the way out? Awful food - when I was told one of the options was pasta - I asked ‘what was in with it and the answer was "pasta" - quite bluntly, they need lessons in manners! Will never fly with them ever again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

"will never fly with AA again."

Trip Verified | I had to book a last minute flight due to my sister's impending death. I was upset and didn't know how or when to schedule my return trip. I scheduled my return for a week later, for fear if I waited to schedule after my sister died and it being so close to Thanksgiving, that the ticket price would be inflated. I paid $663 for a round trip nonrefundable ticket. I couldn't return on the scheduled date, as my sister was still fighting to stay alive. I called AA and was told by a nice lady that they could help me. I gave her proof by providing the Hospice facility phone number. She said they would only charge me for the difference between my 1st ticket and a new return ticket. My sister passed away the next day. I called AA back and the man I spoke to was not pleasant at all. He didn't show any sympathy whatsoever. My original ticket was $663. He then told me my flight back was only worth $118 and my new ticket would be around $660 (a 1 way ticket!) so the difference left for me to pay would be around $550 to get back home. I didn't have that much money and I don't understand how they could say my first ticket, the return trip home, was worth so little. Needless to say, this was very upsetting, considering the grief I was already going through. Thank God, Spirit Airlines saved me with a much cheaper ticket to get me home. I will never fly with AA again.

"I had to check my bag in"

Not Verified | Seattle to Los Angeles. This is the worst airline ever. I had to check my bag in because there was not enough storage when in fact there is so much storage on this plane. We have been waiting at the gate to take off for an hour now. Everything about this airline sucks. I was supposed to be in LA by 1 but looks like I will be home by 3 pm.

"flight today was outstanding"

Trip Verified | Atlanta to Chicago. I have to write in for American Airlines my flight today was outstanding. This is Thanksgiving week and flight's are busy and over booked and full (no empty seats). I have flown many Airlines and must say I have had extremely good service to exceptional today the flight was smooth flight attendants did a great job today. I am not sure if they hear that enough and want you to know thank you I look forward to flights on American Airlines in the future.

"no regard for customer service"

Trip Verified | LaGuardia to Miami via Aruba. After boarding plane were asked to get off stating fuel door issue. After the 2 hour delay we take off and miss our connecting flight in Miami by 15 minutes to Aruba where vacation is planned. We then book the flight for next morning and figure well stay in Miami for the day and overnight. We find out our luggage is getting held for next days flight or we can wait 2 to 8 hours in airport until they find it. Then, they give us a free night at the Miami airport hotel which was for lack of a better term, horrendous (rather than in our paid for hotel in Aruba). They were nice enough to give us food vouchers for $12 per person in total. Considering we had wait 20 hours this was the final slap in the face and didn't even cover breakfast. I understand problems, delays etc but the way they handle this situation is nothing but corporate greed and no regard for customer service.

"they had over sold premium economy"

Trip Verified | San Francisco to Barcelona via New York. My wife and I were bumped from premium economy to standard economy. The reason was they had over sold premium economy. Because this occurred halfway to our destination I felt trapped by this sudden change and had to accept the smaller seats or lose our prepaid lodging and tours in Barcelona. We originally choose premium economy because my wife has been reluctant to travel if she has to be confined in a small economy seat. It now looks like the airlines actions are going to limit my travel. What other businesses can get away with selling a product or service and then change it at the last minute solely for their benefit?

"charged an extra fee for my bag"

Trip Verified | San Antonio to Houston. I will never fly this airline again. I was let through to the boarding gate, my carry on was fine until I was boarding. Then I was charged an extra fee for my bag. I was refused my purse with my medication. I was treated with complete disrespect and rudeness. Just because I was at the terminal and I was flying economy. I was treated like a second class citizen.

"by far the worst airline"

Not Verified | American Airlines is by far the worst airline I’ve ever travelled with. I flew with the to Milwaukee in August, through the 3 AA delayed flights, it took just shy of 24 hours! I could have travelled to Australia in this time. The ground staff are exceptionally condescending and hopelessly rude. The cabin crew and hopeless and rude. We missed our connecting flight as a result they put me in two further flights to try and get me there. They lost my luggage and one the way back a week later, more delayed coupled with rude arrogant staff. Even the customer service team are hopeless. After 12 emails they finally offered me $200, I’m yet to receive this and now it’s November. Avoid this airline at all costs

"lack of customer service"

Not Verified | Dallas to Lubbock. This is the worst airline I've ever encountered. Flight was delayed 5 times! But there was another flight scheduled later going to the same destination as us and they left with no problems. But our flight was delayed by over 5 hours and they refused to tell us why. They were absolutely no help. I am appalled at the lack of customer service and professionalism. In all of my travelling, I have never had a flight delated that many times without being told anything. They even had us deplane and still refused to tell us what was up. Tried to ask if I needed to rent a car instead and she rolled her eyes at me and scoffed saying to do whatever I wanted then walked away. I was stunned! Fly with any other company. Hell even fly with Delta or whatever is the worst one and it will still be better than this.

"not honor your system wide upgrade"

Not Verified | Miami to Oslo. American Airlines offer BA ticket on their website. If you purchase a BA ticket through American Airlines they will not honor your system wide upgrade or honor the same day flight change if the flight change is from BA to American Airlines. I have paid with real money and $$$ to earn my Executive platinum reward. I don't care how American Airlines deal with BA. If AA sells ticket to me then they have to honor what I have earned. Shame on you again.
