✅ Trip Verified | China Southern Airlines were offering the best price when China had just opened their country for tourists. We were a bit apprehensive to fly with them as their website and booking process was a bit bad, but the flight experience was really good. Everything went well since the moment we boarded in London until we arrived in our final destination in New Zealand. The planes were on time, their crew was very professional and the connection in Guangzhou was really easy. The only bad side was that they said that we couldn't order special meals on LHR - CAN, as my partner is vegetarian. But during the flight, they had half the meals vegetarian and half non-vegetarian. So it was fine for us. On the flight CAN - AKL we were able to request special meals, but the default meals were all non-vegetarian. Overall we would definitely fly with them again, as they did everything really well and we had no issues with our trip.

✅ Trip Verified | I had a really pleasant experience in my flight with China Southern Airlines. The cabin crews were friendly and attentive to passengers' needs. Meals were hot and prompt, and inflight entertainment kept me occupied throughout the 11-hour journey from Guangzhou to Auckland.

✅ Trip Verified | My Flight was CZ327. When I booked my flight from China to Los Angeles, I saw that China Southern had the best deal out of any airline available for that route. In this flight, the cabin crew were very nice, interactive and considerate. They were enthusiastic when welcoming passengers and during flight they go to passengers who are awake and offer cups of water as well as snacks. The Boeing 777-300ER had a 3-3-3 configuration, the seats were very roomy, with a great amount of legroom. Blankets and pillows were given. In-flight entertainment had quite a lot of movies. Prior to eating, each passenger was given a nice wet towel to clean our hands with. The food was good, nothing too dull. This flight also provided very useful amenity kits. Overall, had a very pleasant flight.

✅ Trip Verified | Terrible experience. Not recommended. China Southern canceled part of my itinerary. They did not reroute me. They ignored my emails and until now offered neither appeasement nor compensation for the inconvenience. Booked China Southern London to Chiang Mai with a stopover in Guangzhou, where I would meet my fiancé. Booked originally with Booking.com (GoToGate) on 9th May and on 12th May after booking accommodation and activities became aware that return leg from Chiang Mai to Guangzhou had been cancelled less than 1 week before my trip. I was not informed of this. Only became aware because my fiancé was booked on a separate ticket. Contacted GoToGate who said the airline were unable to offer rerouting due to no available route with this airline. They said I would need to cancel and rebook my tickets with another airline. They offered a refund with no compensation and said that I would need to raise a complaint with China Southern. Subsequently rebooked flights with Emirates and Air Asia staying in Bangkok and Phuket rather than Chiang Mai. A great experience. Upon my return to the UK I complained directly to China Southern using the EU compensation scheme. After considerable effort, received a communication from the airline's Amsterdam office on 26th July stating that the flight was not eligible for the EU scheme as it was not with a UK (or EU) airline and it was departing from a third country. I acknowledged that that was factually correct. I visit China regularly so on the 27th July I wrote to China Southern detailing the inconvenience caused and requesting that whilst this flight was not covered under the EU scheme the airline should offer a voucher and/or upgrade for my next visit to China to compensate me for the inconvenience and additional costs incurred. The airline never responded to and continually ignored this communication stating that they had already answered the complaint on the 26th of July and that I should refer to the email history. No matter what I wrote in my emails I received the same response. China Southern staff were clearly neither reading nor understanding my emails. I am still awaiting China Southern to engage collaboratively with me to achieve a satisfactory outcome to this situation.

✅ Trip Verified | My trip from Sydney to China was horrible. On arrival, I was directed to stay aside with 8 others reason being that they were to screen our baggage before being allowed for entry which was very unusual during transit. They kept us waiting for an hour plus, no staff was updating us on the way forward. Eventually, we all lost our bags.

✅ Trip Verified | Worst experience ever, waited more than 3 hours for wheelchair assistance. No one arrived till 9.30 and the flight was at 10, at the end we had to walk through departure ourselves, lack of management, no professionalism among staff members. Never going fly this airline again.

Not Verified | I arrived on the 29th of August and still waiting for one of my luggage, the airline is yet to contact me, I have called them severally and not helpful. Even the local Sydney team doesn't deem it fit to call and let me know what's happening with my missing bag. I'm just patiently waiting to see how this would pan out. First time flying with this airline and I don't think I would ever again.

Not Verified | Service was fine on board, but my luggage was not loaded onto continuing flight despite 2 hours in between flights and then it took 5 days to arrive at my destination. I returned home on the sixth day. The only compensation I was offered was USD 75 - totally unacceptable! And even then I am still waiting for this 3 months later.
