"the employees were rude"

Trip Verified | We wanted to change our seats and check in online but it wouldn’t let us. Got to the airport and still wasn’t able to change our seats due to technical issues after waiting for them to try to figure it out for an hour and a half we told them we have to go through security and left. When we got on board the flight my screen didn’t work and I told the flight attendant she was very rude and just nodded. Told her a few more times she rest a few times and still didn’t work. We asked another attendant and she rest it a couple more times and still didn’t work. They didn’t do anything else about it. So I got WiFi and that didn’t work well either after paying $19 couldn’t listen to music or watch anything. All the employees were rude. The last time we fly on American Airlines.

"I am extremely disappointed"

Trip Verified | This will be the last time I fly with American Airlines. Arrived to Charlotte for my connecting flight to Hartford and was told there's no aircraft available so my 7 a.m. departure was delayed till 2:30 p.m. Thanks to American Airlines mistakes I will now miss my daughter's college graduation. They're making me jump through hoops and Loops to get a refund my wife and I am extremely disappointed with this Airline and will not fly American Airlines again

"they went above and beyond"

Trip Verified | Reno to Los Angeles. We recently had to fly out for a death of a family member. American Airlines staff were so helpful with my elderly mother and our flight mix up from Expedia (who were not helpful at all). I will recommend American Airlines to everyone, they went above and beyond in our eyes, they were wonderful and thoughtful of our situation. Thank you

"rude and very disrespectful"

Trip Verified | Raleigh to Miami. I came to the airport at 10:30 flight scheduled to leave at 12:03 which was delayed until 12:20. The supervisor was very rude. She wasn’t trying to help us at all. The lady in charge stated that our seats was given to someone else which is ridiculous when my flight has been booked for months. It’s very unfair to people that have waited for 2 hours and still don’t get to get on your correct flight. I was put on standby then that may not even help because this flight is full also. Which only leave a flight for early in the morning and I have already paid for my Room and everything ! I will never recommend anyone to fly American Airlines because they do not know how to treat people. They are rude and very disrespectful. The supervisor never apologized or even ask If we were okay. I am very upset. I have been sitting at the airport for 7 hours and I don’t even know if I will be able to board at 7:30.

"first and last time"

Trip Verified | Charlotte to Pittsburgh. My first flight was freezing with no blankets. Then my final flight was delayed 4 hours! After I had gotten up at 2AM. Ironically, I had actually tried to change this flight a week earlier and they told me it would cost me $200 + a $50 service fee. Then they change the flight at the very last minute and I get zero compensation. How is this fair? I've flown around 20 trips, this is the first and last time I will use AA. Never had these issues with other airlines.

"She said no, too late!"

Trip Verified | Washington DCA to Miami. Got to the airport 45 min before flight, which is never an issue at this airport, was unable to check in, told the lady and asking they could assist! She said no, too late! Stand in line and see what they say! Line was too long so had to rebook and missed my flight and my meeting in Miami!

"told that I was late to board"

Trip Verified | Dallas Ft Worth to Washington. Worst experience ever. I am never flying American airlines ever again. I got 40 minutes before the flight and was told that I was late to board and was even dropped off. I was treated like I had never been in a flight ever in my life. And I even had my boarding pass with me. And when I said I didn’t want my baggage if I was late for the baggage checkin the lady in the counter said the plane is ready to leave. The flight was for 7:10 and I was there at 6:30. She said the only way I could fly the same day was if I was on a standby and paid the fair difference and all other extra charges that would make up to $470 or more. I doubt if they are there to make money out of nothing and making fool out of people like me. I strongly don’t recommend this airline.

"very dissatisfied customer"

Trip Verified | Dallas to Milwaukee. When we arrived at the gate, we were told that we had to check our bag. In fact, they did not let anyone in basic economy bring on their bag. Then when we boarded we found that there was plenty of overhead room. 2 minutes after boarding, I went to fetch my bag, with my bag tag in hand, and they refused to give me my bag; it was right in front of me! I am outraged at their obstinance. I pack so that I never have to check my luggage because I loathe waiting to pick it up. I am a very dissatisfied customer.

"Our bags did not make it"

Trip Verified | Lihue to Orlando via Los Angeles, My first flight was delayed due to filling up fuel and landed at 7:55am. Our connecting flight left at 7:58am. Our bags therefore did not make it on the connecting flight but lucking I made it. My flight landed at 3:30pm and I received our bags at 12:45am! The delivery company called and woke me up several times (I had work the next morning) confused about directions on how to get to my address. After expressing my frustrations through several phone calls while waiting for my bag, I was then informed that I could have scheduled the bag to be delivered the following day but now it was too late because it was already on its way out.

"Worst experience ever"

Trip Verified | Indianapolis to Tucson via Dallas Ft Worth. This flight was canceled and a text was sent to confirm a rescheduled flight for the following day. Due to work conflict, I asked to be re-routed; ended up in Chicago, delayed several hrs til that was canceled too. American Airlines said they would not pay for lodging or food costs incurred for this extra night, nor would they provide any refund for the significant inconvenience and work hours lost. They could not even provide me with an email address to file a complaint - I was told to go to their website & find the email address myself, if I really needed it.
