AKL-SYD (737-800) SYD-BKK (Airbus 330)-SYD-BNE (737-400) BNE-AKL (737-800). First and the last I will fly Qantas. 737-800 wasn't to bad but service was very dull. Once we landed in Sydney we went over to the Qantas Service desk in the transit terminal and the staff were so rude. Had a bit of an attitude. After that we made our way through to our gate to depart for Bangkok. Flight departed 50mins late. A330 used on this leg was so cramped and ICE and seating was outdated!. Same thing on the way back through to AKL. I also flew Bangkok Airways from BKK-HKT return on the A319 and their service was much better although their english was limited. Shame on Qantas! Never would I fly with Qantas again.

MEL-LAX and SCL-SYD-MEL recently. Flew on a mix of A380 B747-400ER and B767. All flights on time and the flight from Chile was 40 minutes early into SYD. Check in fast and swift. Seats comfortable. The B747 has updated interior similar to A380. AVOD IFE was excellent. Staff were a mixed bag. Some friendly and some were a bit cold. Only down side was food. Not good. Bread served stale. Salad frozen cold. The main portion tiny. QF have done away with the Cheese Crackers. However drinks were plentiful. Fares paid were good. Will use again.

We flew business class on QF3 SYD-HNL as part of a round the world ticket. The cabin was in no way a business class cabin. The seats were reclining armchairs which is fine if there is plenty of room between rows but there was not. The consequence of this was that when the lady in front of my husband decided not to eat dinner but recline her seat to its fullest extent he had her head in his lap whilst trying to eat dinner. It was impossible to gain access to the aisle from a window seat without physically clambering over the person seated next to you not good if the person seated next to you is a complete stranger. When I enquired about the entertainment system I was told that there was an iPad in the seat back pocket I thought it was a joke. The iPad was streaming films etc but had to be held or propped up on the tray table impossible to watch and eat at the same time. The ear phone jack plug did not fit properly with constant loss of picture and sound every time you moved. Totally unacceptable in business class. It would seem that Qantas have no competition on this route and are therefore able to get away with offering this extremely substandard cabin to its business class customers.

QF23 SYD-BKK (Airbus 330) and QF6 SIN-SYD (Refurbished 747). Flights left on time and arrived early. Seats were comfortable with sufficient leg room. Food was good plenty of cold drinks. Water orange juice and fresh fruit were offered throughout the flights. Lots of choices of movies etc.. The entertainment system was better on QF6 with large touch screens. Flight attendants young and not so young were friendly polite and efficient. Fantastic value. Highly recommended.

I recently returned LHR-SYD via Dubai on an A380. After taking off from Dubai we were given lunch around 11.30 - 12.00 noon then 'put to bed' around 4.00pm. Blinds down lights lowered and nothing more to eat until breakfast around 4.00am. Snacks are supposedly always available but when I requested the biscuits listed on the menu only an apple could be provided. Why is it thought that travellers wish to spend around 12 hours in semi-darkness? Is it that we are less trouble to the crew when we are expected to rest/sleep for hours on end? A final point does anyone read these reviews and are they given any weight at all?

Flew Melbourne - Perth return Business class. Flight over was great as on an international class A330 with angled lie flat beds. Service was great food was great seat was great. Left and arrived on time. Flight home was on a normal A330 with standard business seats. Note as much room in fact quite cramped after having tasted the international standard A330. But my biggest concern was that when they got to row 5 the selection of food was down to get what is left and be happy with it. Very disappointed that they run out of food selection on a PER-MEL flight in business class. Isn't that what flying business class is all about?

I was booked on a flight from Singapore to Brisbane in September. This was also my first time taking this airline. My family was a family of three. The plane operated for my flight was a refurbished Boeing 747 and was quite excited at that time as it was a refurbished aircraft. the economy class seats have a touchscreen IFE but I couldn't find the remote. Service for this airline was okay a smile from the flight attendants whenever they were serving us. The food is below average as I got a fish with rice meal for myself the fish was quite spicy which I did not like.

PER-MEL on the "redeye" which departs at 00.40 am. Allocated exit row seat 14D on Boeing 737-800 which was a great relief due leg room. Seat seemed to be partially made of concrete as which which ever way you sat it was hard. There was no way to get comfortable as there is no armrest on the right hand side of the seat due exit door. Staff were fine with regular drink runs of water etc. Flight landed 25 mins early into Melbourne but advised by the captain that there were no bays available as no aircraft had departed at that hour for anywhere so we were left sitting on the tarmac waiting for a gate. Overall a flight which had to be done but nothing special.

SYD-BKK-SYD on QF23 and QF 24 A330. Seats 57 J and K. As a QF frequent flyer member and having enjoyed 2 other recent trips SYD to BKK return just when I thought Qantas were lifting their game in summary this flight was a big disappointment. Outbound flight was pleasant enough because the aircraft was near empty in the rear cabin allowing us to stretch out. Cabin crew accommodating. However I could not eat the main meals offered. Return flight full. The food again was unappealing. Main gripe was that the cabin crew did not request those seated in front of me to put their over-reclined seats upright for meal times. I had to ask the PAX to do so. Based on my previous flights with Qantas it is most apparent that the cabin crew makes all the difference and in this regard Qantas seems to be still a hit and miss affair.

QF3 Sydney to Honolulu on 6 Sep and return QF4 on 18 Sep in business class. An old refurbished 767 with IPAD entertainment. The cabin staff were outstanding as were the lounge staff in SYD and Honolulu. The entertainment choices were somewhat limited but worked well except for the small in ear earphones which are a nuisance. The seat was comfortable but not full reclining and offered PJs on the overnight flight. Food was very well presented but more healthier and snack options would be good. Several of the main plates were loaded with mayo. Good value at a sale price!
