"good overall experience"

(Malaysia)

Trip Verified | The entire crew helped me search for my lost watch an Omega Constellation. They exceeded my expectations in their efforts to secure my watch. Kudos to Malaysia Airlines crew of flight from KUL to NRT on the 25 November 2023. As a family, MH has always been our chosen carrier and we have had good overall experience with the airline.

"all flights delayed"

(Singapore)

Trip Verified | Four flights in six days (2 x transfers), all flights delayed. Kuala Lumpur to Singapore 17 December arrived on time. Two of the flights have air-conditioning that aren’t working well. My baggage mishandled. Notified to arrive and delivered the next day. First and last time on Malaysia Airlines.

"can't reserve a seat or check in online"

(Singapore)

Trip Verified | Malaysia Airlines codeshare on Turkish Airlines from Stuttgart to Penang via Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur. Last leg with Malaysia Airlines. Not sure who came up with this codeshare partnership but it's half baked. You get an email to check in on the TK site but they don't give you the TK ticket number and PNR. And of course their link does not work. Once you have that - through the TK customer service line you will find out that you still can't reserve a seat or check in online - explanation - because it's a code share. How stupid is that? And wee had a 2 hour delay in KUL to top it all off.

"uncomfortable seats and terrible WiFi"

(Malaysia)

Not Verified | Not the best airline, definitely not my top 10. Sat on defective seats again, when my seat is being reclined it comes back up by itself in the slightest turbulence causing to disturb my nap. Food was terrible, uncomfortable seats and terrible WiFi. At least they delivered our luggage after they nearly lost ours once many years ago.

"Overall a recommended journey"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | Smooth journey on both intercontinental legs and a couple of domestic flights in between. All flights on time, and requested seats honoured on all. Seats supportive and comfortable for price. Food decent portions and quite tasty for an econ offering. Alcohol seems limited to beer or wine in econ, but no problem asking for refills, plus soft drinks readily available. Staff very courteous. Baggage reclaim was prompt, even at LHR on return. Since the demise of the B747s and A380s on this route, load factors are high, and as with B787s, the A350 seems cramped and poky , but I understand the need for utiliising more efficient planes. Overall a recommended journey, and, being direct, saves the hassle of changing planes in the middle east.

"cabin staff very attentive and caring"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | I flew Malaysia Airlines LHR-SYD (via KUL), economy class out and business class return. All 4 of my flights were good, with the cabin staff very attentive and caring. I have a severe food allergy and maximum care was taken to ensure I was not put at risk in any way. The ground staff at the various airports were also very helpful. I am a nervous flyer, but thanks to Malaysian Airlines, my trips were not stressful at all as I felt cared for throughout. Our take offs and landings were so smooth so I had no cause for concern throughout the journeys. Thank you Malaysian Airlines!

"Such a nightmare"

(Australia)

Trip Verified | Initially the system didn’t work and they wrote down boarding passes manually and had to wait for hours to clear that and even no one informed until that time. The connecting flight got missed and they said they will arrange to next flight, which is at night. They took our passports to arrange special pass and they came back with the pass after 5:30 hours. After 5:30 they came up and took another 2 hours for passes and transportation. They didn’t even provide a meal. After all the wait we reached the hotel and stayed for 1 hr and they started us to go back to airport. After all the hassle in flight I have requested for hindu vegetarian meal and they didn’t change it in the new flight and they didn’t bother to apologise nor provide any alternative. They didn’t even have anything to provide food in flight. There said there was no option for veg and no food provided. After all these things my check in bag got missing and they couldn’t even locate my bag, I don’t how come they can’t locate a bag. Never flying tem again nor recommended. Such a nightmare.

"Will never book with them again"

(Australia)

Not Verified | Worst service ever and when you pay for flexi you get told you can’t upgrade later like it promises you can. If they delay or cancel your flight they take no responsibility their response was “that’s what you get insurance for”. Lucky for us we always buy insurance but come on, take some accountability! When we call customer service because no one can seem to help us at the airports about upgrading on the way back, you get put on hold for extended periods of time, so long that it eventually just drops your call while you’re waiting. Told by the manager themselves that they would call back in 5mins and no call over 1.5 hours later. After 5 hours of going back and forth and no manager returning our calls, we are told we can only upgrade the entire trip and not parts of it. Extremely frustrating to hear when you were told the complete opposite on the way to our destination. Phone then drops out again and you can’t upgrade on their website. Ended up just cancelling our flights and booking flights with another company we were that disgusted with their lack of appropriate service. Will never book with them again.

"first time I had a very bad experience"

(Australia)

Trip Verified | This is the first time I had a very bad experience with Malaysia airlines, I have bought a round-trip ticket to fly back Malaysia from Melbourne. However, I have made some changes few days before with the call center to postponed my return flight back to Melbourne as I wish to extend my stay in Malaysia. On the 25 Nov which I should fly with MH128 at 00.30am from Melbourne to Malaysia and found out there is an issue with my ticket when I checked in at the counter as there is no ticket number can be found in the system. The lady at the counter told me that she couldn’t fix it as there is no ticket found and she suspect they must have messed up my ticket when they changed my return flight so she made me to call the Malaysia airlines on the spot to help to fix the problem. Finally get through the call centre after 15 minutes, it is very disappointing that they fixed it but putting me into the wrong flight - MH148 (which is the flight that fly off the next day) and she hung me up after that without calling me back to fix the error. I was lucky enough as there are 2 counter ladies tried what they can to help me out. I’m not too sure how they fix it but at least now they can find my name in the system so they could get an approval from the back station to do something for me so that I could fly with MH128 which is the flight I initially booked. I am making this complain to hope Malaysia airlines is aware so they can improve in the future.
