"They have lost a lot of my respect"

Trip Verified | Return flight to LAX. Flight out AA 265 wonderful, multiple choice meal, drinks, IFE functioning. Return AA 266 provided the worst culinary slop ever seen. IFE not working entire 5 1/2 hr flight. Flight attendants fantastic, mostly being apologetic for food service and lack of IFE. Business class, had only one fixed menu consisting of: no appetizer, an entree of beans and quinoa - navy beans, kidney beans, fava beans. For the medical audience, fava beans can induce a hemolytic blood crisis in patients with an enzyme deficiency. To not offer any choice definitely put passengers at risk. Grapes and processed cheese. Processed cheese! Luscious dessert - Oreos in a foil packet. There was at least a choice of two different crackers! I've attached a photo of the delectable repast. The flight attendants all advised writing letters to AA at aa.com, as this was not the first time the Lihue-LAX flight was shortchanged in quality. The letter was subsequently sent on the aa.com complaint window. As a frequent flyer, we normally would expect some amends in terms of a mileage bonus or something considering the fare paid, the lack of any IFE on a long haul flight, and the abysmal meal served. The biggest laugh came from the one minute survey, where first question was " How likely are you to refer friends and family to American Airlines ?". AA didn't lose a customer, though I would never fly that route again on AA. They have lost a lot of my respect, and lost any referrals that I might have given. Loyalty means nothing to AA - a common sentiment, no doubt.

"Another good experience"

Trip Verified | Another good experience on American. This 10 hour flight was very comfortable and I was happy with all the elements. Flagship lounge was great, food was quite good and the service was efficient and very friendly. Only complaint is the entertainment system which had plenty of content but awkward to use with many unresponsive moments. All in all, in my experiences these last two flights, American is upping their premium game.

"amazing selfless flight attendant"

Not Verified | Some times people just make a review to complain about a situation but I am writing this review to give kudos to an amazing selfless flight attendant who went out of her way to help me. I know she went out of her way because she mentioned that she was in a hurry to get to the other side of the airport to her assigned gate. That speaks volumes that she took the time to help me. I would have been stuck at the airport all night possibly all weekend if it wasn't for her willingness to help me and find me another flight. I waited over 12 hours at the airport. With no guidance or help my flight continued to get delayed. I finally had enough of sitting at the airport and not being able to get to my dentation which was originally Washington DC. I went to a very helpful and kind flight attendant explained to her that I am in desperate need of getting as closet to Richmond VA as possible she found a resolution rerouting my flight to Raleigh NC.

"the worst I've experienced"

Trip Verified | The aircraft was clean. Both departure and arrival were only 20 minutes late and the business class seats were very comfortable, including a larger than usual footwell which was wonderful. However, the cabin was severely understaffed and the cabin crew gave the impression of being annoyed at serving passengers. As with my JFK-ATH flight several weeks earlier the food served was close to inedible. On both flights AA offered a single appetizer of shrimp ... for anyone with allergies to shrimp or religious problems with said shrimp - tough luck. Further to meal service, drinks were served only once, no coffee or tea was ever offered. My Inflight entertainment did not function except for the first hour of the flight. Ninety minutes prior to landing we were told to expect severe turbulence for the next 45 minutes and thus no second meal service. There was not a single bit of turbulence nor a second meal service. We considered this to be deliberate. A very comfortable seat was the only positive of this flight. Everything else was the worst I've experienced in 40 years of flying.

"she would not let me board"

Trip Verified | Never fly this airline. They treat business class customers horribly. The flight was departing at 5:59. I had a connecting flight and made it there at 5:49. Since the “lady” had taken me out of the computer less than 15 seconds after she called me, she would not let me board. While the plane was sitting there she closed the door on me. The plane sat there for another 20 minutes. I had 2 kids waiting for me and needed to make care arrangements. Choose another airline.

"after 2 hours only 3 bags came down"

Not Verified | Philadelphia to Cleveland. Where do we start! This is not my first Rodeo. I'm a Million Miler Diamond status with Delta. Well how about your ticket. They are unable to place TSA status on your Ticket. Ticket agent confirmed this as many people will have it on their profile but not show up on the boarding pass. Flight was slated to take off at 6:57. They told us 6:42 the flight was going to be delayed by 11 min. New departure time was 7:08. Told it was due to crew unavailability. Actually they were waiting for another crew in inbound from Washington. Only updates for the passengers in the gate area was they did not have any information. It was now 10:30 and it is apparent that this flight is not going to happen. Very shortly after that they had canceled the flight due to weather. Now its a party, every one lining up to find out when they would be rebooked. Most people would be booked on the Sun including myself. I did not want to waste my entire weekend at he PHL Airport. So I I decided to rent a car. Went to baggage claim one person was attending. He did not know when the bag would be available and would not file a report. Asked to speak to the supervisor. He tried a couple of time, but then gave up. We had over 60 people waiting for bags. And after 2 hours only 3 bags came down the belt. Very bad Management. Have to wait in queue to talk to Baggage service 3 times 1:43, 2:08, and I'm still waiting on the line for 1h 17m minutes to find out where my bags is. To all you wives, I want to thank you for your support as she couldn't sleep knowing I was on the road all night and kept me up. She decided to join the festivities and is calling on my behalf as well now. I even have enough time to finish this review. I promise I will never fly UN-AMERICAN AIRLINES again

"customer support with American Airlines is almost non-existent"

Not Verified | If your baggage gets lost/delayed don’t expect to ever get in touch with an agent to file a claim. I was put on hold for over 6 hours or more altogether. I got in touch with an agent for one minute then she put me on hold again, and didn’t even take my baggage number to create a claim. The AI on the Customer Care Line will loop you and send you to the app, which the app will send you right back to the customer care line. The customer support with American Airlines is almost non-existent.

"vacation turned into a nightmare"

Not Verified | We were scheduled to leave the house around 5 am to catch our flight maybe a half hour before hand our flight was canceled. It took over 6 hours to get a phone call from AA. They wanted to put us on the next flight (2 days later) and in economy when we paid for business. Who would pay for our 2 days of not being there? It was a fight to get our money back. After spending hours on the phone it still wasn't refunded correctly. Maybe about 5-6 calls later and about a month later we got our refund. Keep in mind it wasn't the full amount. They were short by $30 claiming it was a tourism fee. Keep in mind we never went, so why would they have to pay it yet? Bottom line, never again. A vacation turned into a nightmare! We never got our vacation we planned 4 months in advance.

"left my baggage at origin"

Not Verified | American Airlines simply left my baggage at origin even though it was marked as Priority Baggage. My luggage never traveled to its destination - The representative of American Airlines at Havana Airport could not provide any information, he only limited himself to receiving the claim and redirecting me to a 1800 number that nobody ever answered any of my calls (Eternally on Hold). The representatives of the American Airlines office in the Miramar Trade center (Havana), were unable to offer answers about something as simple as where my luggage is and when it arrives at its destination (It never arrived). The representatives of American Airlines at the Miami airport also had no other answer that the luggage is detained in Miami and awaiting authorization for this trip to Cuba. In My call to Advantage, I only refer to customer service. Customer service just redirected me to a page to write down the details of my claim. My initial claim only received a formal apology. My second claim re-directs me to fill out a form in reference to lost or damaged luggage, which does not correspond to the origin of my situation. The question is, how much more time and re-directions will it take me with American Airlines until my claim is taken seriously and in a personalized way? This is the most disrespectful thing I've had to experience in recent years.

"highly dissatisfied with the staff"

Trip Verified | I am highly dissatisfied with the staff. I paid for business class upon my arrival no wheel chair assistance outside for one, staff was rude, no access to the business lounge if you do not have the American Airlines credit card. No where on the website is this informed. I called American while waiting at the gate where the TSA agent left me with no wheel chair and the young lady prompted me to a long list of promps to get a customer relation assistance. What makes this experience worst American is suppose to be top is the line and I personally will never travel again through them.
