I flew from Kilimanjaro to Amsterdam via Dar Es Saalam. I was sat in 22G. Big mistake as there is a metal box just in front of the foot area. I was lucky in that nobody was sat in 22H and therefore I had the splendour of two seats.

When flying between Europe and Japan, I prefer an aisle seat. So I changed from 14A to 22G. This was a major mistake, as 22G has a large metal box directly adjacent to the anchor stays of the seat in front, so it means that leg space for 22G is reduced by about half. Of course, this does not appear on the seating chart at check-in, but had I known this, I would have stayed in 14A. That said, I watched a film directly after the meal service (the second Narnia film) and then woke up just before breakfast. So I must have slept for about eight hours. Perhaps the Narnia film sent me to sleep, or KLM's red wine served with dinner.

Last row (40): the seats can not be fully reclined only maybe 2cm, then you meet the separation wall. Unbelievable that this is possible on a 10 hours flight. No personal TV, narrow seats.

This airplane is far past its sell-by date and in desperate need of an upgrade. The seats are too small and too close, the tv screens are of such a poor quality that you don't even bother watching them. This combined with the well known fact tht KLM has the most arrogant and unfriendly cabin crew of all airlines makes every flight wit this airline a challenge. If you can avoid KLM, do so!

Sat right at the very back. Arm rest doesn't fold away so shoulder room restricted. I'm a large frame but my wife isn't and she also found this the most cramped uncomfortably seating we've ever experienced on any airline in many years of travel (I've been transatlantic a dozen times in the last 10 years). I'm just thankful the man in front of me didn't recline his seat. He'd have been balanced on my knees if he had! I hope more people complain so KLM might change things.

Old half-cargo 747 from JFK to AMS. Absolutely absurd seat pitch for long-haul international. I'm of average height and pretty skinny, and I couldn't for the life of me even get out of my row when someone ahead of me had their seat reclined. Getting into and out of the seats was a production! Even in the upright position, the space between rows is so cramped, one needs to cling to the row ahead of you to avoid toppling over backwards while trying to sidle into your seat. The cushions were rather uncomfortable and seemed worn out. Disappointing in the extreme.

KLM seems to squeeze as many passengers as possible in their planes by adding more seats. The legroom is insufficient. The armrest does not fold up completely which makes it difficult, if not impossible to get out of your seat especially if the row in front of you has their seat in reclining position.

The seats are hard and do not recline well. I had more space and felt more comfortable on their 737-800. If possible try and get Row 10 on the right and left hand side of the plane but avoid the middle row. Also note that KLM now charges 50 euros per trip for the seats with extra leg room unless your are an FB Eilte member.

Very uncomfortable for many reasons and not least the pitch - far too small. I felt I was squashed in and the seat in front far too close. The seat width was also not sufficient for a decent sleep. The flight was 10.5 hours long so this was not good at all. I am medium-athletic build and 1.85cms tall - so fairly average.
