Was not able to fly Turkish Airlines Bangkok to Geneva because of overbooking. I just wanted
to mention that ground staff in Bangkok handled the situation with patience and class. I was
re-booked with another airline the same evening and given a big monetary compensation.

STN-IST-ADB-IST-STN. Prompt and efficient online booking and online check-in. Choice of
seating and meals available. Flight out departed on time. Service efficient and quick. Cabin
staff helpful and no language issues. Plane clean, all leather seating and seat pitch fine for
duration. Vegetarian meal options delivered as requested - good meal provided. Menus now
offered to pax if no meal pre-ordered. Late night arrival at ADB in quite strong wind
conditions meant a hard landing, but no compromise to quality of flight. Luggage arrived on
belt quickly, clearly identified as connected through IST for onward flight. Return flight,
checked in early at ADB, helpful staff at desk, confirmed vegetarian meals ordered and
supplied, again checked luggage through to final destination, so no need to collect and handle
it ourselves between domestic and international flight. On board, prompt service provided by
CC, all leather seating, comfortable pitch. 85% full flight. Extra drinks on request, CC
always through cabin without any problems. Again nice vegetarian meal option provided. Menus
again handed out to pax for choice of regular meals. Flight had short delay on departure, but
largely made up in flight. Luggage on belt quite quickly. A further good flight at reasonable
price.

CGN-IST return, B737-800. Both flights on time and cabin in a good condition. The FAs do the
work in an efficient but not too friendly way. Unfortunately, their English skills don't match
with THY aim of being a real intercontinental airline. The onboard service is above European
average as THY is offering a good entertainment system, a full selection of comprehensive
drinks and a very tasty hot lunch which can be compared to some other airlines long haul
catering. Another bonus is the baggage allowance of 30 kgs. All in all a quite nice
experience.

Tiran-Istanbul-Tiran economy class. Both legs perfect and ontime, helpful and good english
speaking FA's. Fine food and choice of drinks, very comfortable seats with legroom.

On these short hop flights business class is somewhat more humble. THY loses points for the
aircraft being a bit worn looking. Although the food was good, I was disappointed that it was
not Turkish food.

JFK to IST roundtrip in February. We flew coach and the service was very good. There was
enough leg room and the flight attendants were very professional as well. The food service was
better than most airlines. No surprises, very relaxing.

Frankfurt-Istanbul-Cairo. FRA-IST a newish 737-800 with 2x2 business class seats with good
room. We were offered a choice of 3 meals. Connection at IST a breeze. Quite a nice modern
terminal. TK lounge is quite something with a very regional ethnic feel and decor. IST-CAI
leg was a clean A320 with regular European style seats with the middle one left vacant.
Again a full choice of meal options which was quite tasty. My only downside about TK would be
the crews English skills could use improvement, and maybe work to put on a bit more of a
smile.

LHR-IST-LHR. Flights on time both ways, A320 outbound, and 737-800 on return. Food was tasty
and cabin crew attentive and professional. A word of caution in that Ataturk Airport is
unbelievably expensive - 8 Euro for a soft drink?

MAD-IST-JNB-CPT return in Economy. MAD-IST in Airbus 320, with a lousy seat pitch for a more
than 4 hours flight (MAD-IST), so it was quite uncomfortable plus AVOD available but switched
off, both ways. Food really abundant and good, with choice of JB, gin, vodka, etc. IST-JNB-CPT
an A340 without AVOD. Good and abundant food, decent service and clean plane. CPT-JNB-IST in a
brand new QA330, very fancy lights, spotless new toilets and with a wonderful 12" AVOD screen,
excellent selection of movies, games and information. Food as good as previous flights.
Istambul airport very nice, with free open Wi-fi!!

LHR-IST-LHR in Business for a party of four on a Star Alliance frequent flyer redemption
ticket for a weekend city break in March. Outbound flight was on one of the 777-300 aircraft
leased from Jet Airways. For a relatively short route, the experience was awesome. Flat-bed
suites in Business class, great food catered by Do&Co and slick service provided by the
Turkish Airlines cabin crew. These aircraft have what is quite possibly the largest bathroom
that I have ever seen in a Business class cabin, with a great AVOD entertainment system.
Return flight was a very new Turkish Airlines A321 aircraft in the conventional 'short-haul'
configuration in Business, a standard 3x3 layout with the middle seat blocked for the pull-
down drinks tray. Cabin was near full capacity, but cabin crew provided adequate and
efficient service. Same excellent Do&Co meal service, but very surly atmosphere promoted by
the cabin crew, who failed to crack a smile at all during the four hours that we spent on the
aircraft. IFE provided by drop down screens, which I didn't pay any attention to in favour of
reading - but a new release film was shown. Both flights departed slightly behind schedule and
arrived around 20 minutes late, within an acceptable tolerance. Priority baggage worked a
treat in IST, but bags were not so quick in appearing in LHR - not necessarily the fault of
Turkish Airlines, but their ground handler. Lounge facilities at LHR provided by SAS (London
Lounge) and not remarkable. TK lounge in IST is far superior - large, spacious with very
comfortable decor and a good range of snacks and drinks. All in all - TK exceeded
expectations!

MAN-IST-ADA return and pleasantly surprised. Flights were on time, seats comfortable, food
onboard was ok - the domestic flight was better. The cabin staff were a little stony faced but
smiled at the right times. IST departure and arrivals were ok, a long walk between terminals.

IST-ALG-IST A321 business class and A340 Business class on return. Checking when in business
class from Istanbul, Turkish airlines passengers have dedicated security and checkin desks
and passport control. Unfortunately boarding was a mess and there was no segregation between
economy and business. I had a lot of problems finding a space for my small bookbag on the
plane and the staff although very pleasant could not keep the passengers under control as they
were moving about the plane all the time and disturbed me by bumping into me all the time
(aisle seat). The return flight was perfect, a big A340 with lie flat seats and half empty.
The food was excellent on both legs and the staff pleasant and helpful.
