4 December 2007 Customer Trip Rating :
I have flown Ryanair several times, mainly between BOH and PIK, usually without problem. Very basic
and you get what you pay for with modern B737-800s. I don't think they need to be so aggressive in
the way they deal with their competitors and some airports to maintain their top position. Some
humility and reality (and good customer relations when something goes awry) will not be seen as
weakness. I have just read Ryanair's own report regarding punctuality, lost bags and cancellations
which claimed they were top of the tree. Because of the charges and the tiny baggage weight limit,
fewer people put bags in their hold so there are fewer to lose! Also, it is easier to be punctual
when you use less busy airports that don't have queues right down the parallel taxiway.

Treviso to Stansted FR 799. About 10 minutes after our flight was scheduled to depart, an
announcement was made over the intercom that the flight was cancelled and that passengers were to
retrieve luggage and then line up to reschedule or obtain a refund. The line was quite long and
during the hours that we waited to reach the front, we were given no additional information. Having
had no prior experience with Ryanair, we expected that we would be put up in a local hotel, since it
was quite late and we were stranded. All airport concessions were closed and not even water was
offered. When we finally reached the window after midnight, the employee told us that the best they
could offer us was a flight the next afternoon about 4:30 to Liverpool - not our original
destination of London - and that passengers were on their own paying for transport from Liverpool to
London. One of our group was supposed to fly to the US from London in the morning and would miss
his flight, a very expensive proposition, so we declined the flight to Liverpool and asked to use a
phone (to arrange a new flight, inform relatives why we would not be arriving, and to get a hotel).
This request was refused and we were simply abandoned. They blamed the delay on the weather, because
under their terms and conditions weather takes them off the hook for any liability to assist us.
This was a costly and upsetting situation. When I expressed my shock at Ryanair's refusal to help
us in any way, the employee told us, "This is what happens with a low-cost airline - you made the
choice."

BSL-DUB-FKB. As mentioned by another poster, a heck of a long walk at Dublin airport to and from
the gate to immigration. As for that corny and self-satisfied fanfare on landing to announce 'yet
another landing ahead of schedule' with trumpets, a cheesy American male voice (this is an Irish
airline after all) and passengers clapping enthusiastically - give me strength!

BHD-STN. Checked-in online and got priority boarding. This also saves time checking-in at the
airport desks, as well as saving £2 each way. The cabin crew were efficient and professional on the
outbound sector. On STN-BHD the crew could not string a sentence together on the PA system. A
cabin crew member found it difficult to add up the drink prices in her head which a passenger
purchased! Flights ontime, service simple, as well as annoying with the Ryanair radio telling you
about products to buy and the crew trying to sell scratch cards . A very basic product which works
well if nothing goes wrong and for 0.01p each way im happy enough. It isnt worth much more as you
fly to STN which is nowhere near London and the service is so basic with little legroom and no
reclining seats as well as expensive food and drink.

My friend and I were surprised when we flew last week to Derry from Stansted at the new clumsy
administrative procedures of having to print off boarding cards - between 4-48 hours before flying
(whilst I booked on line I did not notice this new procedure as the site had become quite messy to
negotiate with quite a few changes all at once). Not only that, if Boarding passes could be
printed at the same time as booking, the problem would be alleviated. We had to pay £2 each at
Stansted and returning from Derry. We both use IT at libraries so it is not always convenient to
get space and often systems are down. We always travel with just one piece of hand luggage and the
whole process made it more difficult and uncomfortable to regular Ryanair users.

LTN-DUB-LTN. For £10 return, I can't really complain. Checked-in online and printed boarding card,
avoided every possible extra charge they imposed including the checking-in of baggage and the use of
check-in. They charge for that now also. Recorded announcements were not loud enough for us to hear
on both flights, but it was sell, sell, sell over the PA. Crew were miserable on the way out and a
bit more cheery on the way back. Arrived DUB new terminal which is a bit of a walk to the baggage
reclaim area, so allow plenty of time. Overall a good flight for the amount I paid.

Bergamo - Dusseldorf and back with Ryanair. I agree with what many people have written in this
forum: if nothing goes wrong and you are informed about their to earn extra money (low baggage
weight tolerance) they can be a good choice because of their prices. The very annoying boarding
procedure with people "fighting" to find the best seats and forcing you to remain for 10 minutes
standing in the row with no chance to move in any direction because the hand- baggage spaces have
been filled without a criterion as it happens when seats are pre-assigned. Also, I find quite
ridiculous their policy to declare flight times which are clearly longer than the real ones just to
be able to announce, immediately after landing, that "another Ryanair flight arrived on-time" : my
Bergamo-Weeze flight was scheduled to least 1h40min and in both legs we arrived 20 minutes earlier
than expected: strong tail wind in both ways? I really do not think so.

Liverpool-Ciampino and return. When I booked these flights I wanted to pay by Debit Card. Ryanair's
system would not let me? I had to use my Credit Card which is 60% dearer. This is the 2nd time I
have flown with Ryanair and this Credit Card con has happened both times. I purchased 3 checked in
Baggage items, one for me, one for my wife and an extra Bag, for all three Bags I paid a cost of
£40, expecting to be able to have up to 15kgs in each bag. (Ryanair's Terms & Conditions for checked
Baggage is slightly ambiguous to a non legal customer). No problem flying out from Liverpool
(Ryanair Staff). On the return journey at Ciampino Airport we were stopped by non Ryanair staff and
had to pay an excess Baggage charge of 96 euros. Our three Bags weighted 14.8/14.8/12kgs
respectively. Ciampino Staff seemed to take a delight in our predicament. We had purchased Priority
Boarding tickets. Again not a problem at Liverpool Airport as we were given Priority Boarding. At
Ciampimo it was a complete farce. Customers are bussed out to the aircraft so by the time we had
boarded there must have been approx 40 other customers without Priority Boarding tickets who were
already on the plane. This is not Priority Boarding. For various reasons there appeared to be many
disgruntled travellers on this flight who said they would never fly with Ryanair again.

EIN-PSA. Check-in slow with only one desk open. No priority boarding. Waiting to have your boarding
pass checked before boarding is a joke and is more like a rugby scrum with people coming from
everywhere to board first. Inflight, there is no chance to sleep. Announcement after announcement
about drinks/duty free/ and their lottery. Add to this, staff quality was poor. PSA-EIN check-in was
in terminal B which means you have to walk outside (in the rain) to check-in and then come back to
terminal B to go through customs. There was priority boarding for this flight, but as you are bussed
to the plane, they end up letting people without priority boarding into the same bus. Again,
unfriendly staff. The only positives were the plane was clean and on time, but I don't think that's
to be expected and not praised.

Liverpool to Seville return. Flights on time, plane basic but adequate for a short flight. Took our
own sandwiches and bought a coffee on the plane. Crew efficient and friendly. Living in the north

costs it still works out cheaper and is direct.

Barcelona to East Midlands. Everything went smoothly and on time. Bag was 11kg, so too heavy to go
in hand luggage! I think it is a bit much, but overall the flight was not bad. Ryanair are fine
when everything goes smoothly, but when they don't they are not just unhelpful, they are positively
hostile. Only to be used when there is no alternative.

What a shambles - Shannon to Liverpool on Wednesday 7th November incurred a near 12 hour delay. No
information on why and only a €5 voucher to use on refreshments for the whole period. When things go
wrong on Ryan they go badly wrong. I will think very carefully before using the "On time Airline" !

NCL to Bergamo. Outbound flight was on time, but plane rather shabby. No entertainment, but only a
short flight so not really a problem. Food and drink to be purchased at fairly reasonable prices and
most staff helpful. Return flight saw a newer plane which again was on time and got into Newcastle
early. Legroom fine, but boarding a bit of a rugby scrum even for those with priority boarding.

Ryanair: when it works, it works and is cheap. When it does not work, you are stranded and it can cost
a lot. Our Sevilla-London flight was cancelled because of a land personel strike. Ryanair offered to
bring us back to London on Thursday! Unacceptable for us due to work commitments. So we had to book a
last minute flight on Iberia (2 x 150£), pay a hotel night (50£). Bonus: our car was at Stansted
airport parking and Iberia comes in at Heathrow. So evening train to Stansted and return by car (3
hours), additional day parking fee etc. Our flight to Vitoria was cancelled for unknown reason;
Ryanair rebooks us on a similar flight to Santander. But, we were going to a concert in Vitoria and
the Santander flight was to late in the afternoon to make it to the concert. So we had to book a short
notice ($$$) Easyjet flight to Madrid in the morning, rent a car etc - we would not cancel as hotels
had been booked and the return flight was also booked and paid for. My conclusion is that I have had a
problem on one flight out of 4 or 5 leading to expenses which offset a good part of the savings made
on the flights that went all right.

Just booked Carcassonne to Shannon with a French Visa (debit) card - Ryanair rejects this as a debit
card and only allows me to process as a Credit card = €3 p pax per sector vs €1. They tell me on the
phone that a French debit card will go through - yet the system is programmed to reject it. I have
heard of many others being charged the full credit card fee when using a debit card - no wonder
Ryanair is targeting 20% of revenues coming from ancillary services. Whatever next - a membership fee
to visit the website? I know it's cheap, I just don't like being misled.

Ryanair has now entered the Belfast to London Stansted route taking over from the now gone Air Berlin.
The trick is to plan your flights if possible round the offers, travel with one small piece of hand
luggage and check-in on the web before you go. I had no problem finding several 0.1pence flights for
travel between now and 8th March flew to London Stansted for the grand sum of 02p return, no extra
charges. I bought these during a sale and others at £10 return all inclusive. For this I got on time
departures and, having checked in on line, priority boarding which was strictly enforced at both BHD &
Stansted. Check’nGo does require passport entry details so Northern Ireland passengers should remember
to have their passports to hand when checking-in on line and use them as the ID document at the
airports. The new Boeing 737s have the standard Ryanair yellow and blue décor with advertising on the
overhead lockers. The seat pitch feels more like 28” but seats cannot be reclined which is excellent.
I had an empty seat beside me each way so it didn’t feel too bad. The Ryanair advertising radio is
annoying as are the frequent announcements. Crew, a mix of Eastern Europeans, Scots and Irish on my
flights seemed friendly and efficient. Tip for Stansted: Boots have an airside outlet with the ‘Meal
Deal’ options of any sandwich, drink and snack for £3.49. Just buy this and take it on the plane as a
picnic and then you don’t have to pay the high charges for refreshments sold on the plane

When is Ryanair going to come clean about their real flight charges. I recently booked flights for my
two children from Dublin to Manchester. As it was a weekend return flight I adviced my children to
take hand luggage only. As usual Ryanair took a fee for accepting payment by credid card. When my
Children tried to check in at Dublin airport they had to pay another 6 Euro for that pleasure. On the
return leg of the journey at Manchester they again had to pay a £2 charge for that pleasure. My
children's flight was at 9.30am and they checked in at 8.am. When they went to the boarding gate they
were told that their bags were too large and would have to be check in as baggage. They were sent back
to the check in terminal were they had to wait in a queue again. By the time their turn came they were
told they were now too late for their flight and would have to pay £120 to be booked on the next
flight. My problem with this shambles is that they had exactly the same baggage as they had leaving
Dublin no charge however in Manchester at the last moment the same bags were deemed too large. Why did
this not happen at the check in desk and is the baggage size different from country to country? Of
course Ryanair's secret customer services department cannot not be found for any answers. I will never
use this so called airline again.

I recently travelled on Ryanair with my wife from Italy. On the journey it was announced that a draw
would be held from tickets given out when in flight sales were purchased for a free Ryanair flight on
any of its routes. We turned out to be the not so lucky winners. We were presented with a voucher
which was to be faxed in to Customer services giving details of the free flight requested and a debit
card number to pay for the tax which was not included. This was done and an email was received back
the same day stating that the voucher was invalid without giving any reason. I sent a further fax
asking why, two days later I received the same email again stating that the voucher was invalid but
still without any reason. I then gave up realising that this free flight was not going to happen and
booked a flight for the same dates elsewhere. Then two days later I receive an email from Ryanair with
flight details that have been booked for me and a debit to my card for £61.26 for the free flight,
apparently justified by additional services I had not requested and additional charges for OFF LINE
booking. The inclusive cost of the flight on their website for a fare paying passenger on the day they
processed the free booking was £35.40, some £25 less than they charged for my free flight voucher.
Further faxes requesting they refund this unauthorised debit have been ignored and I have taken the
matter up with trading standards. If anyone out there gets a free Ryanair flight voucher I think the
best thing to do is Bin it!

Flew one sector Bratislava-Dublin as they were the only airline flying this route at a reasonable
hour. Check in a breeze, went to the gate and we had paid for priority boarding - were asked to wait
in a separate room and boarded first. Took off on time, service started - little pricey in my
experience. Got to the baggage belt and for the 1st time in my life in Dublin airport, bags were on
the belt. So overall they got me there early with chatty crew and bags delivered .

My son lives in France not far from Nimes where the airport has flights to East Midlands and Liverpool
which are very convenient for me as my family lives in the Midlands and I live in the North of
England. For many years I have taken advantage of the cheap flights to be able to see my son on his
holidays. However I have just booked him some flights to come over this Christmas. Advertised at 19.99
Euros each way - again I thought very good value. It wasn't until I agreed the airport taxes (58Euros)
check in fees 3 Euros each way - when were these introduced - and baggage fees now 12 Euros - recently
increased from 5 Euros. I am not impressed, why not just state the overall price when looking for
flights? People would appreciate that more, they dont appreciate all the add ons! How can it cost
money to check in when it never used to? How can it cost 12 Euros for baggage when it used to cost 5?

London Stansted to Szczecin. Outward flight delayed 40 mins due to passenger being offloaded, but time
was made up on route. Return flight left on time with no problems. Used the online web check in this
time which was a useful option, the only complaint is that sometimes you are not boarded before the
others as its difficult to get through the usual Ryanair scrum. Seats as comfortable as can be
expected for a short trip. When everything goes to plan, Ryanair are on a par with other budget
airlines, but you hear so many horror stories of when it goes wrong. This is what makes me very wary
of this airline. Also, why do people insist on clapping when the plane lands??

STN-DUB return. Boeing 737-800, clean inside, nearly on time, and cabin crew pleasant and friendly. To
be honest my only gripe was the pathetic security at Stansted, departing at peak morning time, there
were nearly 200 people queueing for each security machine, and it took longer to clear this than it
did to drive from Surrey to Stansted. No wonder Ryanair are running out of patience with the airport
authorities and their increasing charges.

When will Ryanair start to advertise their real flight costs, and not the 'excluding taxes' prices? I
booked return flights for me and my wife from Prestwick to Beauvais, advertised at £9.95 each way.
Instead of costing under £40, it cost nearly £140, when you include taxes, checking in fee, baggage
charge, credit card charge, etc. This is flagrant fraud. I noticed that on the Ryanair site that they
boast the lowest level of complaints from any airline. This is because it is impossible to contact
them. The telephone number for customer services keeps you on hold at 10p a minute until you lose the
will to live, there are no email addresses on the site, and I could not find an address to write to.
No wonder they receive very few complaints!

LDY to STN. Gate staff at Derry enforced priority boarding system properly, and having checked in
online I was one of the first on the plane and secured an aisle seat in row 4. Crew efficient, yet
without the usual brusqueness common to Ryanair crews. We landed 25 minutes early. The real advantage
of this route is that flights from Derry use the UK gates at STN, which obviously don’t require
passport control, so I was on the 2230 Stansted Express, having landed at 2205. Great service and a
fare of £25 - if Ryanair runs smoothly (and it is a big IF) it is hard to beat.

Return trip Karlsruhe-Baden - Stansted. Check-in at Karlsruhe was easy going. Priority boarding (which
we didn't choose) was pointless as the priority boarding folks got into the bus first but then the bus
waited for other pax to show up before leaving for the plane, so there was no advantage to get into
the plane first. The plane left 5 minutes late but was exactly on time in STN. The crew was very
friendly and professional. Advertisements for a lottery sound ridiculous but generate side profits to
Ryanair - as long as that keeps the fares low I'm fine with that. Luggage reclaim in STN was very
fast and efficient. Trip back from Stansted: check-in horriblE because crowded airport, late
designation of check-in counter, long queuing because of small number of open counters, d) eternal
security queuing, incessant announcements at the gate, very loud, slow boarding because of problems
the boarding agents had in ripping off part of the web check-in papers. But these are STN problems
than Ryanair. Flight went out 10 minutes late but arrived 15 minutes ahead of time. Crew was friendly
and attentive. Seen the price of the tickets and provided no big bugs occur Ryan offers a solid
transportation from A to B with friendly and attentive staff. The 3€ priority boarding fees are ok as
long as there is direct access to the plane, in case of a bus ride to the aircraft it is pointless.

Perpignan to Stansted. Flight due to depart at 17.20. At 17.45 we were informed that the flight from
Stansted had been unable to land due to weather conditions, an argument somewhat undermined by the
landing of an Air France plane 5 minutes later, and that the plane had been re-directed to Girona.
All very suspicious as the weather was fine and a passenger told me that the same flight the day
before had been cancelled and passengers bussed to Carcasonne. Either the Ryanair plane or the pilot
was less capable than that of Air France or the whole story wasn't being shared. We were placed on
buses and driven the 90 minutes to Girona. Nobody from Ryanair had communicated anything to any
passenger at this point, nor did they meet the coach at Girona to tell us where to check in or what
time the flight might leave. Obviously there was no apology (until we boarded the plane) or offer of
any refreshment. There is a complete lack of accountability from Ryanair, an unwillingness to help
passengers when things go wrong. A 4 hour delay and no sign of humility at all - still playing those
ridiculous, up-beat offers of cheap booze, sandwiches and scratch cards. A bunch of idiots. I'll do
all I can to avoid flying with them again.

Cheap and reasonably punctual but you need to be aware of all the extras which pile on the cost. The
15kg checked luggage limit must be worth millions - and is quite strictly enforced. Travel with hand
luggage, check in on line, and don't expect any service - you have not paid for it! Be aware that if
it all goes pear-shaped you are on your own even more than with other low cost airlines. Buy some
decent delay insurance.

Valencia - Stansted vice versa. We do this trip back and forth several times a year either using
Ryanair or easyjet, depending on the times for family pick-ups etc either end. To date there has been
little hassle. You get what you pay for and generally little bar a flight cancellation can go wrong.
If you choose to eat and drink on the plane expect to pay inflationary charges. There is no mileage in
priority booking as everyone gets a seat and if you've paid £10 for it, does it matter if you sit on
the floor as long as you get from A-B?

EMA-Nantes and Nantes-DUB-LGW. Check in and boarding for all flights was reasonably efficient, and
it's interesting to see how they have considered every single angle to cut out costs and speed things
up - eg using steps to disembark passengers even when there are jetways available (curiously, they
didn't do this at LGW and we used the jetway instead), or the new plastic/leather seats (no doubt
easier to clean), or the vast numbers of Eastern European crew. But it just felt like there was a
generally feeling of something being endured - travel as a means to an end rather than a pleasure in
itself. They are only cheap if you are not carrying baggage or small children, have money (ie don't
need credit card and thus avoid fees), are intelligent enough to read all their rules and follow them
(unticking some boxes during booking, not carrying too much weight), can check in online (not always
possible from a holiday destination) and don't care where you sit. If any of the above don't apply
then you will probably either find they're not that cheap, or should fly with someone where you're
looked after. I would use them again for a daytrip - but think that anything over about 90 minutes
would be a bit too much to bear. One tip: if travelling alone, there's really little need to get
priority boarding. On all three of my flights, there were single seats in the first few rows which
people were walking past as they were too polite to ask someone to get up and let them in. Despite
being nearly the last on the plane I was in the second row! This only works when you have minimal hand
luggage though - the overhead bins are usually full by this point.

you can't really complain about such a minor inconvenience.

East Midlands/Girona/East Midlands 11th-20th September.Check in fine on outward leg and Priority
Boarding worked well. Missing passenger and offloaded luggage made a 20 min delay but landed 5
mins.early. Baggage on belt quickly and on our way. Return check in slow with passengers still
trying it on with overweight baggage! Away on time and landed 10 mins early. No complaints on
cabin staff/safety or announcements. Ryanair do need to clean their planes properly as on all legs
the trays and the rear of the seats had obviously not been wiped down overnight as there were
obvious drinks stains , some off which were older than a day. In conclusion - if you follow their
rules ,turn up on time with correct luggage and pay €3 for priority boarding you get what you pay
for and it does what it says on the tin! May be worth taking a few wet wipes!

The first flight to Rome was excellent. (If only getting from the airport to the city had been as
good!) Despite being at the end of the dignified scramble to board the plane, we managed to get a
prime window seat. However the second booking has already got off to a bad start. Google Toolbar has a
very useful AutoFill feature for commonly entered fields. It turned out to be a bit too useful though
when I was booking our flights. Two of us are flying, and I unfortunately overlooked that it had
helpfully entered "Brian Marsden" for both of our names. It has cost me £70 to have this admittedly
careless mistake corrected - plus the cost at £1 a minute to phone a premium rate line to talk to
somebody in India. (This is not mentioned on the web site, which quotes an 0870 number, which just has
a recorded message telling you to phone the premium rate line.) Buried in the small print is that you
can only have the name changed at the airport "up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure" - and it
can't be done online for some reason - so I guess that if I hadn't noticed the mistake and just turned
up, we would have been bounced off the flight and had our holiday ruined. Surely they can put some
sanity checks in their software, if only to warn you that you have entered the same name twice. Ah,
but then they wouldn't be able to rip you off when you didn't notice yourself would they?

When Ryanair cancel a flight suddenly, you are stranded in another country having to pay for a extra
night stay in some hotel, this happened to us at nearly midnight in Paris, we were re-booked to fly
the following day at 22-50 which was also delayed. As you can imagine this caused us many extra
expenses, not to mention the discomfort of sitting in a airport for a full day with baggage, tired and
upset children. There was no help from staff and Ryanair, and they have refused to refund any of the
extra expenses . My advice is never to fly with Ryanair.

LPL-PMI. I suppose our luck had to run out sometime, as we've had 3 return trips to Italy with no
bother, but this time we had nearly 8 hours delay. Worst features were the lack of information and
absence of Ryanair staff once we were airside. Check-in was 10 minutes late opening and, at first,
with only one member of staff for 2 queues, but the public announcement of a 4 hours 35 minutes delay
as we queued meant there was no need to hurry! It took ages to check-in anyway, because of the large
numbers of passengers who seemed unaware of Ryanair baggage restrictions and who, on discovering their
bags were overweight, were trying to reorganise their packing. We were told that the "supervisor" was
trying to get Ryanair to authorise refreshment vouchers and that we should wait for an announcement,
but it didn't come till 2+ hours later, and was so difficult to hear that I had to go to the
information desk to ask what had been said. We had the choice of going to the Servisair desk landside
- but there was a massive queue of refugees from Ryanair check-in desks (paying their excess baggage
charges?) - so we opted to go airside to collect them from the Passenger Services desk near gate 32.
The vouchers were for £3.50 each, which some people thought less than generous, but since we had
technically paid only a penny each for the flight we couldn't really grumble! Once airside, we did at
least have somewhere to sit, but had to rely on announcements and the screens for information and
sometimes the two disagreed. The flight even disappeared from the screen at one point, then
reappeared with a gate number whilst still saying (at 19.50) that the estimated departure time was
16.25. Eventually after several extra delays being announced, everyone was called to Gate 22 to await
another announcement at 20.30 in the presence of what I can only describe as security "heavies" and 3
lady ground crew. We thought that this was the prelude to a cancellation announcement, but it was yet
another delay which was, hardly surprisingly, greeted with quite a lot of barracking. Things calmed
down again after a few minutes and the chief lady of the land crew was actually very helpful when I
asked if anything could be done about our car hire at Palma because the desk might be closed by the
time we arrived. She allowed me a call and tried another herself and even took our details to go to
the LPL Hertz desk after our flight had been boarded (and they seemed to be aware of this at Palma
when we arrived). Eventually we boarded at about 22.00, having had to wait for an incoming flight to
arrive to take the place of the plane that they'd been trying to repair all day. After a delay like
that, though, the lurid interior decor of Ryanair planes comes as a shock to the senses and the
synthetic leather seats are extremely uncomfortable. Some of the passengers had obviously spent some
considerable part of the delay in the bars, so things were a little rowdy, but the senior stewardess
brooked no nonsense during the safety routine. I was surprised though that one of the other
stewardesses provided more alcohol to some who were already more than merry! Overall, therefore, not a
happy experience, but we weren't totally abandoned, we did get there in the end and we even had
refreshment vouchers. The lack of information made things much worse than necessary, but that seems
to be par for the aviation industry as a whole, and seems to create the greatest source of discontent
among the passengers. Flying with Ryanair is clearly a gamble, but without the cheap flight we
wouldn't have been going at all! The passenger-unfriendly nature of their planes, however, was really
highlighted by the contrast of our return flight with easyJet. Even easyJet's orange is soothing in
comparison to Ryanair's plastic bright yellow!

Baggage allowance of 15kgs is very prohibitive. We travel regularly from Stansted to Karlsruhe-Baden
and always purchase priority boarding passes. No problem with this when boarding at Stansted but at
Karlsruhe-Baden they use a bus and board priority passengers first on the bus (as they should) but
then also the non-priority passengers on the same bus. We also have to state that not a single one of
our many, many flights took off on time. Sometimes the late departure was made up for on the way but
not very often.

BGY-BTS return. Essential services are ok: both flights were operated with quite new 737-800 and
arrived on time. However, the interiors were dirty, boarding a nightmare thanks to their free-for-all
seating policy and baggage allowances are ridiculous. The booking process is a joke: the basic fares
are usually very low but there are lots of hidden charges. I will fly Ryanair again only if it is a
lot cheaper than any other solution available.

SNN-FAO-SNN. Both flights fine, full. Crew nice. Priority boarding good in Shannon, it only works when
flying from a Ryanair base as the proper queues are set up. Dont bother with it if not flying from
Ryanair base. Only downside was very little drinks/snacks available for purchase on flight home as it
was a night flight, nothing left.

Madrid to Porto . Baggage 4kg over but no charge. Left on time in a clean and modern plane and arrived
20 mins early. Baggage waiting for us on carousel Can't fault this trip for the money.

Stansted to Salzburg, 8 Aug. Plane took off, flew for 20 mins, then pilot announced minor
technical problem and plane would return to Stansted. He said we would transfer to a standby plane
and be off again to Salzburg in 30-40 mins. Most believed him. On the ground the chief stewardess
said there was no second plane and we should collect our luggage and the Ryanair desk would help us
with hotels and transportation. Most did not believe her. Total chaos, no information, no Ryanair
presence, no extra plan to take us next day, no help with accommodation that night. Those who had
to fly waited in line for over an hour and were squeezed on scheduled flights over next few days.
Ryanair could not have done less to help us.

I flew Ryanair Reus to Hahn and return. Fisrt point is that the flight was very cheap.
The airplane was new and but seats not so comfortable. There was no onboard service included in the ticket
price. Buy onboard snacks and drinks were reasonable. The crew were polite.

Be aware when travelling with children. Over the years I have used Ryan Air several times fully
aware of the trade off between sevice and price. Recently however when we were flying from Nykoping
(Stockholm to Ryanair) to Girona we were refused to board first despite flying with our 3
children (0, 2 and 4 years of age). This meant that we ended up stalling the flite for quite a while
as the cabin crew tried to shift other passangers around in order for us to be able to sit by the
children. On the return flight it was even worse as the cabin crew showed no understanding and we
all ended up in differents rows and it was only by luck the seats were fairly close. From a
financial perspective, with everything focusing on swift operations I don't see how it is worth the
risk of delayed flites, from a passanger perspective I don't think its fair to distribute
potentially noisy kids randomly among the other passangers with no one to hush them and from a
safety perspective I don't see how they expect to be responsible for 2 year olds seated on their
own. Given the above I don't see how they can avoid shifting back to letting families board first,
but until they do I will not fly with them any more.

Bergamo to Luton. Check-in opened late so the queue was huge by then with locals pushing-in, probably
the fault of the airport rather than the airline. The chaos from another Ryanair flight's 3hr. delay
led to overcrowding in the departure area and the usual shoving once boarding began. Anyone with children
or not 100% fit really should not use this airline for their own safety.
The flight attendants were pleasant enough, but there is a worrying lack of standard English being
spoken. The senior FA had a particularly strong accent and was hard for a native English speaker
to understand. What happens in an emergency? This isn't the first time we've experienced this and
it's something which Ryanair need to address immediately. On the matter of families being split up,
this wasn't the case on this flight. The cabin crew were being most helpful to families near us and
found them seats together.

Ian Oliver (and others) point about not using Ryanair if you want
frills, such as guaranteed family seats together is a fair one, but if
you use BA, Finnair, etc you will pay more. I use Ryanair weekly, and I
can be counted as one of those rarities - a Ryanair fan. Their prices
are unbeatable, planes nearly always arrive on time, and they use
convenient quiet airports. It is not the lap of luxury, but for a couple
of hours, who cares? I've never felt obliged to buy anything on board. I
just say, "no thanks" and the FA leaves me in peace and serves the next
passenger. In the end, you get what you pay for.
