Manchester – Hong Kong via Doha economy. First sector flight very full and there seemed to be
a high number of infants and babies which kept the cabin crew busy and required the best
efforts of the noise cancelling ear phones. Catering and service good and staff in the cabin
and quick to answer call bell. Smooth transfer at Doha as I had upgraded the next sector on
Qmiles and was taken to the premium terminal to await my next flight. This terminal is another
world. Airy spacious, waterfalls, showers, complimentary restaurants attentive waiters, and
vast areas of comfortable seating. This all makes travel a pleasure if you are able to turn
left on flights. The next sector was in the luxury of business class with nearly flat beds and
staff anticipating your every need. Free sleep suit and toiletries (why don’t airlines have
male and female versions) menus never seem to change though, it would be nice if new menus
could be introduced. Even so Hong Kong arrived all too soon. Returning on economy all the way,
staff surprised me by addressing me by name and taking meal choices in advance. I assumed this
was because of my Gold card status. Not as comfortable sleeping as standard economy seats have
a limited recline. Meals good, in fact I would choose the economy breakfast over the somewhat
strange choices in business class. Not sure what the reaction would be if I ordered an economy
breakfast next time I fly business. Transfer at Doha via the main terminal not quite as smooth
as the outward. If they used all the security channels which they have, transfers would be
much quicker. The terminal has been improved with much more seating, toilet facilities and a
huge duty free shopping area. Last sector to Manchester, service and meals excellent, being a
day time flight, staff very kept very busy with drinks orders and quick to answer all call.
Makes a vast difference from other airlines where cabin crew rarely leave the galley areas.

London Heathrow-Doha-Melbourne and return. The service was impeccable, food and wines
excellent and I slept for the first time on a long haul flight on the flat beds Doha-
Melbourne-Doha. The cabin staff were polite and attentive. Qatar airlines deserve their 5* rating.

Flew with Qatar Airways for the first time in March 2010 for our return trip to Australia.
Air hostesses and Stewards very helpful and attentive. Only let down was the entertainment
system would not boot up with the second leg of our outbound journey which was the longest
approx 12.5 hours resulting with nil entertainment. All journeys were approximately on time.
Food was as you would expect with most airlines.

Cabin crew pleasant and attentive, particularly on the first leg where I was greeted by name.
DOH-CDG leg on the return slightly marred by loud staff conversations in the galley. Food was
sufficient in quality and quantity. Plenty of entertainment to avoid boredom. The only
downside is CDG airport which is a disgrace. On departure there was one - yes one officer on
duty for passport control. Consequence 20 minutes in line. Security was a 45 minute wait in
line after that. But that's the Paris airport authorities who need shaking up.

One of the best flights I've had. FRA-DOH-SGN, SGN-DOH-ZRH A332 and A333. Best IFE, very
clean and modern aircraft and cabin crew were polite, attentive and motivated. The crew was a
very interesting combination of people from all over the world. As far as I am concerned a
short stopover in Doha is not a disadvantage - for me it felt good to walk around the airport for half an hour.

FRA-DOH-BKK return. Airplanes are clean and modern and cabin crew polite and helpful. The
disadvantage is stopover in Doha, where you have to wait for security control before transfer.
When you arrive to Doha, first you take a bus to the terminal, then waiting for security
control before transfer , then wait for your next flight and finally take the bus which goes
to your plane. Even with best cabin crew, newest aircraft and widest choice of VOD, it's not
possible to have pleasant trip in such circumstances. Fortunately, we bought our return
tickets for only 430 Euros per person. But next time when we fly to Asia I'll choose a direct
connection.

LGW-DOH-BKK-DOH-LHR in Business Class. Good service throughout but the Airbus operated on the
LON-DOH vv sectors are not as spacious and comfortable as the B777 on the BKKsectors. Only
angled flat beds on the Airbus but flat beds on B777. Business Class lounge in DOH is
excellent but very poor at LGW and average in BKK. Both LGW and BKK lounges provided by third
parties. The new airport being built at DOH will do away with bus transfers in DOH on arrival
and departure which will improve the overall service. Not withstanding these drawbacks a very
good airline overall.

LHR-BKK return SIN-LHR. Check-in efficient and fast. All legs good, but SIN-DOH best with 180
degree seats - great for overnight flight. Food (vegetarian) excellent on all legs.

LGW-DOH-BKK return Business. LGW-DOH Check in quick and easy at Gatwick North - lounge poor.
Airline Rep very personable collected us from lounge and escorted through gate direct onto
plane - very efficient. Seats on A330 in 2-2-2 arrangement. Lunch offered - odd selection of
mains - curry (veg) curry (chicken biriani) or prawns (in sauce) - not a prawn fan had chicken
- which whilst spicy was excellent, as was most of the food. Service initially excellent
though waned as staff appeared tired - would present a glass for a drink and forget to bring
wine for example. Another meal served prior to arrival - nice but not needed. DOH premium
lounge very good, quiet due to time of day, and service excellent - though frustrating could
not get snack and take back to table, staff insisted that you stay in restaurant part to eat.
DOH-BKK on B777 plane much more comfy than 330 - lots of extra room and service / food top
notch. IFE on my seat gave up and despite many re-boots would not work. Slept well and through
second meal for on time arrival into BKK. CIP fast-track pass through BKK vimmigration great
as huge queues at main immigration. On return check in at BKK protracted as was asked to move
seats to accommodate large family - eventually got row 3 which was fine and thankfully family
not noisy! CIP fast track through immigration great and Thai lounge at BKK OK, though not that
large. Inflight food excellent - especially thai soup. Transfer through DOH terminal good.
DOH-LGW an A330 again - not that comfy for sleeping with angled seat, but did get a few hours
and woke for extensive breakfast. Again odd selections - gravlax and salt cod, followed by
lobster omelette and salmon - weird but not bad! LGW luggage took almost 45 mins, and no
baggage priority adds to this. I stayed at the Sofitel Hotel at LGW North terminal on way out
and noticed they have an arrivals lounge for BA, Continental and Qatar - this was not
mentioned en-flight and on asking only the ground staff could help with invite. Shame this is
not promoted as excellent lounge and perfect to freshen up after night flights. Overall,
excellent service and flights - great special offer price of £1442 return - only Eva Air and
Thai air competing at these prices. Service generally lived up to 5* standard - only negatives
is that meals / drink service complex and things were missed on busy flights. 777 sets
standards and shame 330 offering of seats and IFE not to 777 standard.
