IST-DOH-SIN Economy. New A321 IST-DOH, lots of legroom, clean bathroom. Old and grubby A330
DOH-SIN and that awful IFE box beneath the seat in front of one. Can't they do something about
that? The quality of the economy inflight service has deteriorated since last I flew in 2007.
FAs consistently pleasant, attentive to safety, but not to swift on answering call bells or
drink rounds. Doha Airport is ghastly place.

PVG-ATH rtn (via DOH) in J class, A330 and A321. Service was good. Check-in very good at all
stations, lounge in DOH quite good, loads were low due to the recession (so even better),
planes fairly new. Food good (especially breakfast). Exceptional value for money, and this is
important as "Business is Business, and always better than Economy". For an airline
established in 1997 they're doing pretty well.

DAR-DOH-BKK return. Excellent service, most impressive wine card ever seen on bz-class (more
than 10 wines, 9 year old champagne). Food: triple options, if you can manage you can have
all! Staff extrovert, kind and alert. The sector DAR-DOH is a little bit squeezed and less
spacious as it is a smaller aircraft. The lounge terminal in Doha has everything, incl spa-
pool. 4 hours sleep in first class cabin were kindly granted. Internet down, however (during
16 hours!). Frequent flyer programme not properly integrated in alliances, but miles granted
promptly.

LHR-DOH-BKK, breaking the trip in Doha for a day of "sightseeing". Check in for 7:55am flight
to Doha was fast and efficient at LHR3. Access to the Cathay Pacific lounge, which is very
nice. The seat is comfortable, if not 180-degree lie flat. Onboard service is excellent with
good food, excellent wines and crew as attentive as any I have come across, comparable or
better than Singapore and Cathay Pacific. This is where the airline earns its stars.
Unfortunately, when I re-checked in for my onward flight to Bangkok early on February 11, I
was informed that I would be charged 5kgs "excess baggage", even though I had added nothing to
the bags except the amenity kit I had received on the first leg. US$120 poorer I lodged a
protest. Long distance travellers should note the extraordinarily low weight allowances - 30kg
on in Business class - when planning travel. The Premium Terminal's Business Lounge is nothing
special compared with the likes of other high-end airlines' hub lounges. Uncomfortable chairs,
poor drink selection, dowdy bathrooms and distinct lack of natural light. Again, the selling
point is the onboard service, repeated with aplomb on the DOH-BKK flight. IFE is excellent on
demand, even if the video choices are a bit staid.

DXB-DOH return a couple of weeks ago. As I was travelling without check-in baggage, I decided
(as advised on their website) to check-in online and print out my own boarding pass, in order
to save time and hassle. Security at DXB refused to accept the boarding pass however, sending
me to the QR check-in counter (at the other end of the terminal building) to obtain a 'proper'
boarding pass. The check-in staff admitted that this is a common problem faced by QR
passengers. QR seriously need to review the information to passengers provided on their
website. Flights were okay - food (hot sandwich both ways/no choice) inedible. FAs
disinterested and bored looking both ways; being bussed to/from aircraft in DOH a hassle.

LGW-DOH-BKK. Staff attentive and good leg room. I had problems with IFE on LGW-DOH leg but
enough empty seats to find one that worked. Food very good also plenty of wine but one small
irritation, they open the wine but take the cap away. Not a good idea on a bumpy flight. We
had a 5 hour plus stop in Doha, had a free meal, seek out voucher lady located near upstairs
restaurant. DOH terminal actually quite spacious, hundreds of seats. Small duty free and
prices steep. Free internet. Will certainly fly Qatar again, an excellent airline.

BKK-DOH-ZRH and back in mid-January in coach class. On time arrivals and departures. New A330
on three flights of the four flights. Ample legroom for coach class. Attentive and friendly
service but not overbearing. No comments on the inflight entertainment as I read and sleep on
long flights. DOH-ZRH-DOH flights were barely a quarter full, so it's hard to tell how the
crew would have coped with a full flight. Meals were plentiful but very heavy - carb, carb,
and more carb. Each seat pocket was bursting with a wad of inflight magazines, duty-free
catalogue etc, with no room left for even a thin book. Worst of all is the awful DOH
terminal. Very cramped, terminal has no jetways so transfers mean a bus ride, one short, the
other endless, taking us so far from the terminal it was almost as like taking a city tour.
Worst by far were the filthy bathrooms. Incredibly for a Gulf country, there are no facilities
for washing feet so men were washing their feet in washbasins, which you then had to use for
washing your hands or your face or brushing your teeth. There was water all over the floor,
and no attendants to clean it all up.

JNB-DOH leg was awful, cramped, staff were rude, and they ran out of food. The 10 hour
stopover in Doha was boring - not a very interesting airport. DOH-LHR leg superb, good space
in economy class, food wonderful, the staff polite. I would fly them again. Just don't stop in
Doha for 10 hours.

LGW-DOH-BKK First time flying with Qatar and found service fantastic. Given priority boarding
and check-in as were travelling with an infant. All vegetarian meals excellent, lots of
variety which makes a nice change. Doha isn't the greatest airport in the world, lacking
facilities and poor toilets. Seats were extremely comfortable.

LHR-DOH-KUL return. QR Business Class service is deserving of 5 Star tag with the notable
exception of the seats. Whoever designed these should be made to sit in one for 14 hours! The
not quite flat sleeping position is bizarre. You seem to be constantly slipping downwards
toward the cabin floor, and owing to the hard, lumpy nature of the upholstery, sleep is pretty
much impossible. QR need to address this fast. Food and Cabin staff superb on all four
sectors, as were the lounges at Doha and KL.

DOH-SAH-DOH economy class. Both flights departed on time. The outbound flight was delayed on
arrival for about 20 min because of weather problem, while return flight arrived at DOH
earlier than scheduled time, which was good to me. Small aircraft (A319 & A320), but seats
comfortable and sufficient legrooms. Flight journey around 2.5 hr but a full meal was served.
Hot and tasty. Cabin crews attentive and a consistent level of service. Check-in at DOH & SAH
was smooth (don't take it for granted in this part of the world). The only problem is that
when I took my check-in luggage at SAH, I found that my luggage tag was stolen! I don't think
it's the airline's problem but it didn't mark a very good start of my vacation. I have been
flying in & out DOH with the same luggage & tag for more than 5 times, and the problem never happened.
