KUL-ICN A330. The plane was old, main screen was broken. There was a scribbling on the tray
table. Also chair cover was torn.

LHR-KUL-LHR. My most recent flight on this route was a bit of a disappointment. The
aircraft were elderly 747's in poor care. Having flown into the UK the previous week on a BA
747 the difference in comfort and cabin condition was most unflattering to MAS. I'm afraid
this is a trend I've noticed with MAS over several years now. What was up to standard was
MAS cabin staff who are almost always excellent. The food from LHR was good but the food
from KUL poor. Because MAS are the only airline to fly non-stop LHR-KUL and are usually the
cheapest I'll probably continue to fly MAS on this route. However, MAS need to buy new
aircraft and improve comfort levels and food before they can be considered a 5 star airline.

LHR-KUL business class. Very good cabin crew service, friendly and faultless. Food was
excellent, good choice of wines. Business class seats on their 747-400 aircraft only angled
lie flat but comfortable. B747-400 aircraft on this sector seems dated.

Had several flights with MAS. STO-KUL, KUL-JOG, DPS-KUL, KUL-BKK. Got very competitive fares
for all sectors and bearing this in mind, got flights that were on time, hot meals on all
sectors with generous drink services, cabin crews from good to excellent plus generous legroom
on their B747 and A330. With constant low fares on their website, Malaysia Airlines remains my
preferred option although they do not deserve a 5-star ranking in Economy any longer.

Lahad Datu to Kota Kinabalu using Maswings which is now part of Malaysia Airlines. Booked
ticket online which was easy. When I had to make changes or had trouble paying for my online
booking, USA 800 number was helpful to get things straightened out. Plane small with
propellers (carrying about 70 passengers), seemed new and even had small video screens at each
seat. I frequently fly MD-80s with American Airlines and these planes do not have inidividual
screens for a plane that is much larger than this plane. Would not hesitate to use this
airline again, even for international flights.

Jakarta-KUL-LHR. The first leg was on an old and grubby B737-400. The flight was 45 mins late
departing and service onboard standard. KUL-LHR on 747-400. it's been a while since I've flown
long haul with MH and all previous experiences I had with this airline were excellent. It
started off fine - economy cabin was clean and tidy and seat was comfortable. However, the
service was a bit disappointing. Some of the crew didn't seem particularly friendly although
they were professional and efficient. The food was fine but the airline seems to be trying to
cut costs in the drinks service - the only pre-dinner drinks offered were juices and beer on
trays and alcohol was served somewhat reluctantly with dinner (when I asked for some red wine,
my plastic cup was only filled about a third. There was no question of a refill being offered
and the tray was whipped away before I could ask for one! Throughout the night there weren't
many trays of drinks coming round - maximum 2 and this was on a 12.5 hour flight. I expected a
bit more from MH. It wasn't bad, just not as good as it used to be. The fact that the flight
was full and there was quite a lot of turbulence may have added to my somewhat negative
overall impression. I have to say for me it wasn't a 5 star experience, especially if I
compare it to the same journey done several months ago on SQ.

TPE-BKI, BKI-KUL-PEN. Nothing very 5-star, just the average Asian carrier with old aircraft.
On the way to PEN delayed by 1 hour due to technical errors. Ground staff not very
informative, later during the flight the captain just mentioned it as though it was an
everyday routine. No apologies offered. The younger cabin crew, working mostly on regional
flights, were fantastic. Very warm and personal.

AMS-KUL-BKI return in economy. On the long haul flights plenty of legroom, good meals,
attentive staff and frequent water runs. AMS-KUL-AMS leg a Boeing 777. Each seat was equipped
with on demand IFE which offers a wide range of entertainment options. KUL-BKI-KUl leg on
older 737 aircraft with no IFE but good Malay-style food was served. All in all a good
experience. Only minor point is the seating arrangement for the Boeing 777 in Y which is
2-5-2. I prefer 3-3-3 seating because it gives the cabin a more spacious appearance.

Buenos Aires-CapeTown-Johannesburg-Kuala Lumpur-Bali. On land services are shameful in Buenos
Aires, rather old planes, bad maintenance of the main cabin and toilets, toilets were not
clean enough, food was good but they had a problem about diet soft drinks (they never had
them), and inflight entertainment was ok - not the best. Most flight attendants were friendly.
If it used to be a 5 star airline, it is not anymore.

SYD-KUL B747-400 Business Class. FAs very attentive except one female flight attendant. She
seemed having a bad day in Sydney. Few of the passengers including me were not served the
dessert as promised on the menu card. Only those seated on the front cabin were given the
dessert. No explanation given and the meal service ended rather abruptly. Plates and glasses
were handed over to my hands but not to the table. IFE was good and food served was average.
