Flew HKT-KUL on bright and clean 737. Crew were fantastic and food rather good. Slight delayed departure but ontime arrival. Short flight but I would think their long haul flights would be wonderful based on this experience. KUL airport is a dream and bags arrived within minutes.

LHR-KUL-MNL return. LHR-KUL on a dated 747. Food poor, especially vegetarian option. Attitude and attentiveness of cabin crew inconsistent - some very polite and professional, others making it apparent they had better places to be. TV broken. Told my partner could not be given an emergency exit seat with me because she did not meet the height requirement, only to get on the plane and find someone of a similar height occupying such a seat!

Kuala Lumpur-Sibu , pleasant improvement to what the Malaysia Airlines domestic flight used to be. The food was great and seat comfortable enough for a six-footer like myself. Cabin crews very friendly and attentive. Flight was on time.

LHR-KUL-LHR in business class. Excellent inflight service, but beware in you book row 11 on upperdeck of 747 aircraft. Two seats blocked off for flight deck crew. Our travel agent had reserved row 11 both journeys for us and it was only when we checked in were we advised that we could not have these seats. However on outward trip LHR-KUL were then allocated row 9 on upper deck over emergency exit, but on return trip KUL-LHR we were seated on lower deck in row 19 right next to the galley, which made it extremely difficult to sleep on the night flight. Felt rather cheated at having paid business class price for seat as it was no better than sitting in economy class - very poor seating layout. Also travelled to Phuket and Langkawi with same airline and service excellent - all flights on time.

KUL-CDG Economy. Very nice cabin crew. Check in at KLIA was smooth although there were a lot of people but the airport was huge and accommodating. Ground staff very pleasant. On board a rather aged airline in Economy. To make up for the plane condition, there was still personal inflight entertainment with various programs to choose from. FAs very attentive with a smile and ready to help. Very polite even when you ask for a glass of water when everyone else is asleep. However, they should have done water rounds rather than just during meals. I was very satisfied with the service for the price I paid. But still hoped that they will change their fleet soon.

Return to Rome from KL. The cabin crew were attentive and friendly, food was great. Inflight entertainment superb. I noticed the flight attendants do regular checks on restrooms and they were clean. Legroom ok in the 777. The negative feedback is for the check-in counter in Rome. Staff hardly smiled and seemed uninterested to attend to anyone.

Dubai-Kuala Lumpur-Manila return. A330 with 2-4-2 configuration. Got the seats for a bargain and I guess you get what you pay for. Seat space is OK or up to standards but no personal entertainment facility on the plane. Clearly, if you have a child with you, you need to have a PTV or something to keep them entertained. 4 hour wait time in Kuala Lumpur was OK as the airport large and very nice. Despite some negatives, the cabin crew was very attentive and helpful. Very quick to take action and meals were served and removed quickly so you can spend time more resting. Unfortunately, food wasn't too great.

Auckland-Kuala Lumpur-Auckland Economy Class. Service in flight was good and choice of meals good. Seats were comfortable enough and like their 2x5x2 layout on the Boeing 777 as this means we get two seats to ourselves.

Langkawi-KUL. Tired looking B737, Advertised refreshments a cold juice and a small bag of peanuts, departed and arrived on time, crew did what they had to efficiently. I have no idea why this is a 5 star airline.

Istanbul-Kuala Lumpur-Istanbul. Travelling economy with three kids. The only outstanding thing about Malaysia Airlines is its crew. everything else is OK, food is plentiful but not great. Kids were never asked about childrens meals, no toys given. Kids couldn't eat some of the food on the KL-Istanbul sector (too spicy). Nevertheless, friendly and helpful crew means that I always fly with them especially when alone with kids. And the price is amazing when booked online.
