KUL-LGK-KUL Business Class. Outward trip on 737 with old fashioned but okay business class seat. Return leg on A330 with very comfortable seats (for 1 hour flight) and superb service. Lounge at LGK has closed, which is a shame. Food good considering length of flight.

LHR-KUL-PEN. Great service, satay appetiser great. Did not have my choice of main course and with a 39J config (7 seats free) thought this odd. The aircraft was outdated, tiny toilets, beds not truly lie flat - seems at stance with their 5 star rating?

PVG-KUL-DPS, BKK-KUL-PVG. PVG-KUL on B777 with AVOD - very small screen and limited choices, very good service, food terrible. KUL-DPS on B737, old plane but well maintained and clean, decent service with great food, BKK-KUL on B737 again, average service and no second round drink, KUL-PVG mid-night flight with aged A330 without AVOD and only overhead TV, food is good but during 5 hrs flight they don't even serve 2nd round drink!

Singapore to Kuching on a 16 years old 737-400. I had access to the MAS lounge at Changi, which was peaceful, prior to departure. Flight left on time and arrived slightly ahead of schedule. Business class has a 2x2 configuration and the seats are very comfortable for regional flights. Drinks and newspapers were offered before take off and orders taken right away for your drinks choice with lunch. The meal consisted of a salad starter and then a choice of 3 hot entrees - I had the satay which is a bit too spicy for my liking but nice enough. Desert comprised of an orange and lemon pudding with kiwi fruit and strawberries. A hot towel was provided after the meal. This was a god solid offering and the standard is higher than that offered by many other carriers on European routes of similar length.

IST-KUL-KUA. Flight from IST B777-200 was full. Crew very attentive. Answer the bell immediately. Food very tasty. Toilets clean. Generous on legroom. IFE working with variety of films and songs. KUL-KUA 40 min flight on old B737-400, though clean, served with juices and snack. FA's generous and polite. MAS seriously need to change their B737-400 fleet.

CGK-KUL-BKK. CGK-KUL A330, aircraft showed its age, no IFE, only drop down screen with a short documentary for 2 hours flight. Service good, meals in a cardboard box but presented nicely. KUL-BKK an ancient B737, they should have retired this aircraft. Seats very cramped and don't really like the cushions as they are too colourful. This meal served in a white styrofoam box with no logo, felt like flying on a low cost airline. No inflight magazine or IFE. Flight attendant as usual is hospitable and take care of the passengers. Think Garuda has better service & facilities on their international B737 aircraft including the meal presentation. MAS should follow Garuda by ordering B 738 with AVOD IFE.

Kuala Lumpur - Hanoi return. Outward in economy and return in business class. Aircraft used on this sector newish 737-800. Cabin crew service excellent in economy and business cabins. Only criticism is lack of IFE on this flight in economy cabin. You receive a portable player in business cabin. Kuala Lumpur - London in business class, excellent cabin crew, professional and friendly. Good choice of wines and food in menu. Only drawback is that seats are not flat and 747-400 aircraft on this sector feel dated.

Overall Malaysia Airlines is adequate but some of their aircraft are getting a bit tired. With the recent announcement of new aircraft this should diminish this problem. Inflight service is great, support staff is nothing short of abysmal. My problem with this airline is their support (or lack thereof) for their Enrich members. I am constantly sending emails (40 in the past 5 months) chasing up frequent flyer miles only to be ignored or on rare occasion have my email answered with a credit but no apology. I travel almost weekly and you would expect better service from an established airline to reward, not punish or deny its frequent flyers. I could not estimate how many miles of mine MH has conveniently lost over the 3 years I have been a member. I have been a member of Thai frequent flyer program and would rate that 10/10. MH as an Airline I would rate 7/10 - their Admin service 1/10. Word of advice - dont join their frequent flyer program unless you have got all the time in the world to get jacked around.

KUL-MAA. Flight on a fairly nice but tired A330, great for a short flight. Service was first rate, food excellent and cabin crew warm and friendly.

KUL-CGK-KUL. Outgoing flight an ageing 737, no entertainment but crew were efficient. Return flight an A330, although old but upgraded with drop screen TV. Sufficient entertainment for a 2 hour flight. Food was sufficient and tasty. MAS has a relatively old 737 and A330, despite this planes are well maintained and clean.
