SYD-KUL B747-400 Business Class. FAs very attentive except one female flight attendant. She seemed having a bad day in Sydney. Few of the passengers including me were not served the dessert as promised on the menu card. Only those seated on the front cabin were given the dessert. No explanation given and the meal service ended rather abruptly. Plates and glasses were handed over to my hands but not to the table. IFE was good and food served was average.

JHB-KUL and KUL-KBR. Two short flights both on old but bright and tidy 737-400s. First flight delayed by about 30 min but made up some time en-route. Both flights served snack boxes with juice, peanuts and chocolates, much appreciated. Seat pitch 30 inches - nothing special, but noticeably better than the miserable 29 inches on their 737-800s.

KUL-DPS B737-800. Flight on schedule, good price, good crew, OK meal, plane clean and new. I would have rated this flight 8 or 9 but for one major flaw - legroom. I chose Malaysia Airlines partly because of their reputation for having a decent seat pitch, but for this 3 hour flight it was just 29 inches.

LHR-KUL-Langkawi return. Planes old and dated, seats not great when compared to new seats on Cathey, inflight entertainment is quite limited. Price was right and cabin crew were good. They failed to get my bags on the KL-Langkawi transfer but bags were delivered to my hotel about 5 hours later after being sent on the next flight. Food is average.

LGK-KUL on economy class. I was surprised when this short sector MAS served a light meal box contained a chocolate, a peanut and a juice. Much better than last time but the bad point is, they didn't serve drinks as what they used to. I will rate it five star if they do. Seat a little bit cramp with old B737. Really need a new airplane. The crew was good and service was okay.

KUL-NRT on a B777-200. Excellent crew, very attentive and helpful, very smooth check-in and boarding, great food, entertainment and tip top cabin quality.

HKG-KUL. Was allowed to check in at HKIA 2h30min before departure that leaves us more time for duty free shopping. Flight was on a B777-200 with PTV. Service crew helpful and efficient handing out blankets and pillow. Economy class barely 75% full.Juices, nuts and hot towel were served shortly after take off, and frequent supply of juices throughout the flight. Acceptable selection of IFE for the 3hr plus flight. Seat pitch/legroom was generous compared to other carriers. Cockpit made updates pretty often. Meals served on board was chinese noodles or cream sauce fish, both served with servings of bread, salad and a moouse. Ice cream, hot coffee and tea were served minutes later.

KUL-LHR-KUL return. The price was quite good - the plane seemed to be old but clean and fresh. The seats was confortable, large legroom for economy class. Cabin crew fantastic, showing up every hour during 12 hour journey and served with smile. The meals were ok. IFE works well event though some of them can't function. Our flight back to KUL was better. Again faultless service from cabin crew and I managed to get sleep 9 hours before second meal served.

SYD-KUL-SIN-KUL-BKK. They seem to be holding onto their 5-star service. I was surprised at a reduction in the meal service from SYD to KUL - the second service was nothing more than a very light snack. KUL-SIN shuttle services were a bit disappointing - both 737-400s on the outward and inward sector were tired and desperately in need of a refit. I felt sorry for the people who'd paid for Business Class - their cabin seemed the most tired! I don't understand why MH (and SQ) don't serve anything more than a drink on the shuttle services. While it's only an hour, something more like some peanuts or chips-and-dip would be manageable. A newer 737-800 on the KUL-BKK sector and a hot brunch - with alcohol served. A much fuller flight and they did well in the two hours available.

Sydney to London Heathrow return. Their planes are a little dated - I flew on 747s, but the service on board was excellent. The cabin staff were very attentive and helpful. The ground staff at Heathrow and Sydney were also excellent. My flights were half empty so I was able to move seats and managed to stretch out across 4 seats on flights both ways. My only complaint is the food (the only reason I rate it 8 out of 10)and I didn't really enjoy it at all. Wines were great and there was no shortage of alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments during both flights. Seating rating is not applicable here as I had a vast choice. Overall I would recommend Malaysia Airlines. A stopover in the transit hotel at Kuala Lumpa airport was a welcome break between flights between London and Sydney on the return trip. You can book 6 hour blocks for about $90 per block. It is well worth the money!

MEL-LHR return. From check in staff to flight attendants they were fantastic. Plenty of food, their Golden lounges were well stocked with food and beverages in a nice environment. The inflight entertainment system could be a bit better as it doesn't have as good of selection as other major carriers. They have an "angled flat bed", so it does not go flat. Plenty of legroom on the 777-200.

Hong Kong to Kota Kinabalu and Miri to Kuching. All flights on time. Very good food. Planes old but clean and in good conditions. Staff do their best to be above the rest of the competition. Very good value when booked on their web page.

CPT to EZE, the only airline to fly this route. Only 2 pax in F. Great food, service and drinks. For a day flight like this, the seats are great but there is zero privacy. Therefore, for night flights on routes with a choice of carrier, I would pick an airline with more private seats such as BA.

Beijing - KL. Very full plane but the cabin crew were extremely professional and fast when serving meals and other refreshments. Extremely good value - around $AU350 all up for the flight. I have flown Malaysian a few times recently and really cannot fault them. The only point deduction is for the same inflight movie programme on two legs.

SYD-KUL Economy Class. It had been some time since I had flown Malaysia Airlines, and I'd been looking forward to trying their inflight product and service again. Despite very bad turbulence out of Sydney, the cabin crew persevered with serving dinner and drinks - and were quite apologetic about not being able to serve hot drinks. I was surprised that they had done away with the menu cards in Economy and are now making do with text messages on the IFE - but it's a bit greener I suppose! The IFE does now seem tired (compared with Singapore Airlines - probably an unfair comparison) and the screens are a bit scratched. Overall, very happy with Malaysia Airlines - but I do wonder why they don't re-vamp their old livery to something more modern.

Malaysia Airlines from KUL to Dhaka and return last week. Both the flights on an A330-200. The outbound flight was Y class. The crew has to be one of the best I have experienced in Economy. Very proactive and patient with the passengers. The aircraft was rather old and the interior is in need of an upgrade. The meals was also of high quality. On the return, I upgraded to J Class at the airport check-in counter. Although it was the same old aircraft type, the seats were quite comfortable and of lie-flat type. . The cabin crew again were friendly and refreshing.

Langkawi-KL-London. Love every moment flying Malaysia Airlines. Flight entertainment was excellent. Food wonderful. I had nasi lemak for breakfast and it was so tasty. Cabin crew members were the best. Definitely value for money.
