My wife and I flew economy from Frankfurt to Vancouver. We have done this leg several times, since it connects flights to Bangalore and Chennai, India. This is the first time we had comfortable seats and excellent service. Food, even though it was not what we ordered was of a good taste. The Chennai and Bangalore leg is always a toss up. The planes and service is not very good. We still fly this airline because of the connections. I wish they will little bit more courteous and nice on the Indian legs.

I use LH mainly for connecting flights from Madrid to Frankfurt return when arriving from Colombia at Barajas airport. From check-in, boarding and inflight service, to ground service at FRA airport, I am very satisfied. I normally get the tickets between 99-199 Euros, which is very economic, and comparable to Iberia low fares. On LH you get a nice lunch of good quality, and twice beverage service, with a good selection of wines, beer, and even Whisky, etc. Flight attendants are always very helpful and friendly, and when I am travelling with the entire family, our 3 children always get some toys. In my opinion LH is a 4-5 star airline on European flights, on long haul flights 3-4 stars.

FRA-PHL Economy Class. Had a very comfortable flight with Lufthansa, good food and a lot of drinks. Had a few wines and drinks and all complimentary. Seat pitch is ok, only thing bothering is the entertainment unit box under the A seat. Overall had a good experience on this flight, even though no PTV, but this will improve soon.

Munich to San Fran to Frankfurt in Business class. It's been years since I did a biz class flight with Lufthansa. I found the experience much improved on last time. Better cabins, nicer staff and better food, with good wines! The sleeper seats are a bit of a let down. They do go almost flat but it is a little like trying to sleep on a hill. However flights on time and I was able to make my connections, unlike another airline that uses LHR. Only real nit is there is nowhere to plug in your own audio. Lufthansa supply Sennheiser which aren't a patch on my Bose in the ear units, and nothing like as comfortable.

MUC-LAX. Efficient boarding and early arrival. 2 full meals and frequent beverage service. Entertainment was via overhead cabin monitors in a newish A340-600. Nice clean plane with bathrooms downstairs.

MCO - FRA business class on Airbus 330-300. An average experience. C Class seats fine but not excellent, food a little tasteless, onboard service really slow (so I decided to skip coffee and dessert and have some sleep instead). Coats weren't taken, no greetings neither on boarding nor on deboarding. Always had more of a "premium economy" than a "business" class feeling.

Perfectly adequate service for the short BKK-KUL trip. Very good champagne and wines. Could not believe that choice of food ran out with a load of only 17 passengers out of more than 60 seats. All I got was vegetarian mains - cottage cheese wrapped in eggplant slices, which nevertheless was very tasty. Very good choice of personal inflight entertainment for a short flight. Magazines were mostly German -- not so helpful for this route. Cabin crew very pleasant, but they never addressed passengers by name. The main advantage is that you get to be on a B747-400 with long-haul style lie- flat seats for this short-haul sector.

After a faultless round the world journey with the Star Alliance partners I was shocked at my treatment by Lufthansa on my short last flight back to Munich. After a sleepless night next to a screaming child on an extremely comfortable Air New Zealand flight we landed in Heathrow at 10am. We had booked our last flight from LHR to MUC with Lufthansa. At the time of booking we were told tickets could be changed for a small fee. We booked the 17:00 flight as we wanted to ensure that if delayed we would not miss our flight. Three earlier flights were available - all with seats in economy available for purchase. We were not allowed to transfer to these earlier flights - A transfer would have cost 400 pounds! - To make things worse we were not allowed to check in for our flight until 14:00 and spent three and a half hours waiting in arrivals in Terminal 2. As a Senator card holder I was very disappointed at the service we received. After check in the business lounge has no showers. On board the service was the usual - a cheese sandwich and a drink. I will try and avoid Lufthansa - I am sure that there is a better way to fly.

IAD-FRA-LYS I experienced much lower quality food and beverages than I previously remembered, and after a late arrival in Frankfurt from Washington, with less than one hour to connect, I missed my flight to Lyon. I arrived at my gate ten minutes before the scheduled departure but was rejected because the shuttle bus had left for my plane to Lyon. Each time I spoke to one Lufthansa employee about getting on another flight, I was directed elsewhere halfway across the airport, and ultimately ended up spending 10 hours in Frankfurt dealing with unfriendly and unhelpful Lufthansa personnel who seemed little interested in getting me to my destination as quickly as possible. Lufthansa's slogan "there's no better way to fly" is not what came to mind during this travel odyssey.

SOF-FRA-SGN and back economy. The flight to Frankfurt an Airbus A320 was good. However, the flights to Bangkok (747-400) and Ho-Chi-Minh-City were a nightmare. It should be forbidden to have so little space during such a long flight. The staff was friendly and food was reasonable. The 747 economy class cabins are outdated.

PHL-FRA Business class on A340-300. Seat 16K, last row of business class turned out to be an advantage as meals were served here first. New Business Class seat relatively comfortable. Endless options to adjust the position of the seat, but found it difficult to find a position that was comfortable to sleep in. Sliding down the seat in lie-flat position but managed a few hours sleep. The dinner service was wonderful, but took so long that there was little time left to sleep before breakfast was served (about 4 hours). Breakfast nothing special. Entertainment system fantastic and was sad the flight wasn't longer in order to get the most out of it. FA professional and efficient but not exactly 'warm'. All in all a very good product. No doubt wonderful on a daytime flight but not the best overnight if you are planning on getting a good and long nights sleep. A real bonus was the incredibly efficient, friendly and helpful lady from the check-in staff of Lufthansa in Philadelphia. She dealt with overbooked flights, disgruntled customers, and the general New Years chaos with professionalism and good humour!

STG-LHR on the day that many flights to London were delayed or cancelled due to fog. We received a phone call just before leaving for the Airport to say the flight may be delayed or cancelled but to proceed to the Airport as there were seats on a later flight. On arriving at the Airport we were informed that our flight had been cancelled but were being transferred to the later flight. As we were checking in we were told that seats had been found for us on a BA flight. On arrival in London I received a message on my mobile phone saying that the later flight had been cancelled, this flight was the last flight to London that day. I wondered what would have happened if we hadn't been given the last two available seats with BA. The following day was Christmas Eve. The return flight was on time and took as usual only just over an hour. FA's were pleasant and we were served a cheese sandwich, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

London to Sao Paulo via Frankfurt. Booked Lufthansa as I am a Star Alliance member and it was also the cheapest available over xmas period. LHR to FRA pretty standard, efficient crew. Even though I had seat reservations, me and my partner were sitting nowhere near each other on the FRA-GRU flight. We did get seats together eventually, on the way out in the last row and thankfully nobody sat next to us. It was an old and tired looking 747 400 and they had no seat back TV. The crew were great and the food was good, large portions. On the return leg again we had to sort out our seat reservations again and our request was not met. I just wish that Lufthansa would update the inflight entertainment and improve the ground crew.

GRU-MUC-POZ Business Class. Slow check in GRU, economy lines moving faster than C or F lines. Lounge in GRU (Varig) is terrible. Dark, dirty, poor variety of drinks and food and no internet. Despite all that, onboard service was pretty good. The seat was very confortable and IFE great, with a nice variety. Food ok, but took forever to finish service. I did not wait for dessert and went to sleep. Muc-Poz was a surprise, with very nice service and well trained FA for such a short flight. All in all, a very good experience.

FRA-LAX and DTW-FRA. FRA-LAX C class on B747-400, seat 1A. Very private as no seats in front of you and only 2-2 seating in that row. New C class is a standard product and shouldn't be compared to Business classes of other airlines such as BA or SQ or even BusinessFirst classes at AC or SA. Seats are okay - could be a little bit wider. A full lie flat bed would be nice. Good IFE, food and drink services. At LAX Priority (F/C Class) Baggage was mixed up with Y class baggage. Return flight from DTW on A330-300 same thing as on B747-400 to LAX - same seats, same IFE, food, drinks and services. Priority Baggage at FRA has been on the baggage claim first and everything was fine. As long as the LH Business class tariffs are less than on other airlines I recommend LH - often other airlines offer better tariffs on C class and have a better product - then I'd choose in favor of others.

JFK-FRA-AMS, GVA-MUC-EWR Business class. JFK-FRA flight cancelled for technical reasons and within minutes re-booked on a direct flight from JFK to AMS on KLM also in Business class. The return leg was on time, good food, plenty of drinks served during flight. Good movie choices. Overall, solid performance and for a discounted business class fare I paid I was more than happy to fly in comfort.

ORD-FRA-DEL. FA very attentive though they were not aware we had purchased a seat for our son and were offering a basinet or other arrangements so he could sleep. Once we explained he had a seat they were fine and made frequent stops to see if we needed anything. The new business class is nice though the seats are not lie-flat. IFE is good. Food service and presentation very good though the staff is quite intent on making sure meal service is done promptly and efficiently - any customer request during service was met with "as soon as the service is complete." On the ground check in was fine, Delhi airport was actually managable as Lufthansa reps were helpful, immigration and security were their usual pains. Lufthansa is a good choice for those travelling abroad, it is not cheap but you get what you pay for.

My boyfriend and I flew from London to Tokyo via Frankfurt. Flight London to Frankfurt was delayed due to bad weather so we missed next one to Tokyo. When waiting for the flight replacement in Frankfurt, only around 30 people were queuing and with 5 open counters, we've been waiting for hours to get to our turn! After 30 mins standing in front of the staff, they left us with no reply because their working time came to the end and we got nothing sorted out but were transferred to another set of staff. We were told that we could only wait until there's seat available in economy class, which was two days after (and we have to pay for one night accommodation), or fly with China Airlinse. They wouldn't gave us seats in other classes which were available the next day. We were even willing to pay extra fee for business/first class but still refused by them due to the reason "too complicated to recalculate the price difference for tickets". We had no choice but fly with China Airlines and then to Tokyo. Moreover, after they assuring to us that our baggage would be arrived with us in Tokyo - of course they arrived, but one day later! During the whole contact with Lufthansa crews, the only response we got was "sorry, we can't do anything about it". Poor attitude, poor service, lack of ability to respond urgent or different situations. First time fly with Lufthansa and will never fly with them again.

LCY-FRA-BKK, then BKK-FRA-LHR business class. Firstly, don't bother using London City airport if you have a business class ticket (and a choice of London airports to use), as there are no lounges, plus, Lufthansa don't offer a separate business product onboard these flights. Best to use LHR as we did for our return journey, where the standards were great. The long haul sectors were both good once onboard. FA service was attentive and efficient, although the food took too long to be served on the return sector - 2.5 hours into a flight that took off at midnight and we were only just getting our main meals. The food was good, but not great. Wine selections poor, and mean servings too (one small glass for the meal). IFE good - all on demand and system worked very well. The seats are okay, but (as seems to be the case reading other reviews), I was sliding down the seat when in its full lie-flat position and trying to sleep. I slept fairly well on both long haul sectors though (despite this). The cushions are quite firm, which you become very aware of after an hour or two of sleeping on your side. Transfers at Frankfurt were pretty poor overall, for two reasons: the business lounges at the airport are sub-standard - stark; not comfortable; very poor food/snack selections; one internet terminal in the entire lounge. Not a place you'd want to spend more than half an hour in. The other reason is the security at the airport. It's hopeless, even during fairly quiet times. The unhelpful and surly staff help make your final 'experience' at FRA twinged with bitterness too. We chose Lufthansa for the price - the cheapest business class seats we could get for a lie-flat seat when travelling to the far east for Christmas/New Year. Overall, I wouldn't rush back as they're not offering anything over and above what the competition are. Plus, flying long haul with them again would mean transiting through FRA and that's not something I want to do again in a hurry.
