BRU-AUH_BKK. Smooth check in business class counter Brussels airport - lounge insignificant. New seats on A330-200, had window seat A7, privacy, very nice. Only drawback seat is not large. Drinks, food and service excellent. AUH new business lounge excellent, but long walk from plane to transit area in new terminal 3. AUH-BKK found the selection of movies IFE rather limited. Received fast-track card before landing at BKK, did not use limo service having domestic connection. Bags first to arrive after fast immigration check through.

Beijing - Abu Dhabi - Dublin. Check in at Beijing was quick and friendly. Having flown this route a few times before, it tends to be quite empty - so I requested a block of 4 seats to myself. Overall there were around 100 empty seats in Economy out of 220. Entertainment system is great. Food was great, flight attendants professional and friendly. My only complaint is that they left the cabin lights on for most of the flight which was somewhat annoying as Beijing time the flight was from 7.10pm until around 3am - should definitely be classified as a night flight. Flight from Abu Dhabi was more crowded, entertainment system was just as good. Most people slept for the duration of the flight and breakfast was very good. I've flown a lot of airlines on the China - Europe route and Etihad is one of the best.

AUH-CMN-AUH Diamond class. Shocked that for this 9 hour flight to Morocco each way, Etihad use an old leased A330 with very old, uncomfortable first class seats. The seats do become flat, however they are nothing like what they advertise and are more a 1990's seat. Seating is 2-2-2 and has no privacy if the seat next to you is occupied as you end up fighting for the armrest which is shocking for the price one pays for first class. IFE is old and unimpressive. Flight also leaves from Abu Dhabi airport Terminal 1, and not the new Terminal 3. Etihad are concentrating on expanding their destinations with older planes but risk losing customers in doing so.

I have flown with Etihad several times in business and pearl class. Overall not a bad airline. I have had reason to complain and their customer care team are the worst I have ever dealt with. On one occasion the spelling for one of my friends was wrong on the ticket and they charged £75 for a name change. They told me they were doing me a favour charging the £75 as their policy is to cancll the ticket with no refund and charge the full cost for a replacement ticket with the correct spelling. They only had to change one letter in the name. For this reason I will not use them again.

LHR-AUH-SYD-AUH-LHR. A very good experience and exceptional value for price of the ticket. Aircraft newish on all legs. Seats tight width wise but reasonable legroom. Crew professional and friendly. Large seatback monitor, AVOD entertainment good selection of movies tv games and music. Meal service of a high quality, choice of three entrees. No problems with running out of meal choices or lack of meals.

CDG-AUH-PEK Business Class. I now usually prebook the window seats as they have more privacy. Meals getting a bit boring if you fly them once per month. Big hold up during AUH transit, as all arriving pax from Paris had to be individually temperature checked (swine flu). Apart from that transit in new terminal quick and easy, even had a warm meal in the new lounge. AUH-PEK again new 332, small improvements in details in seating, but consistency in the EY long haul fleet as to seating and service.

I absolutely agree with A Mort. I had the same experience in March. Very rude cabin crew. No food - not just running out of your choice but running out of food. We were only half way in economy class so a lot of people did not get any breakfast. No drink, not just the alcohol, but nothing else. This is a really dry airline! I do not plan to fly with this airline again if it can be helped and advise others to avoid them.

LHR to KL economy class. The flight out was 2 hours delayed. Nice clean cabin and smiling staff. Not much leg space for a tall European guy, but good entertainment. The return flight was not so good, the good Arabic staff had been changed with some rude European staff, no smile, poor and cold food.

MAN-AUH-BKK return Absolute rubbish ! If the cabin crew had smiled their faces would have cracked - we found them to be rude and quite arrogant. We felt a little uncomfortable having to either press the call button or walk up & down the plane to ask for drinks - on that note, we had to laugh when drinks were being served prior to the in-flight meals, when asking for a G&T & even a diet coke, whatever mixer/soft drink wasn't poured into your glass was placed back on the trolley for the next passenger! We had problems with the seat-back entertainment system not working. Absolutely freezing cold flying from BKK to MAN.. They got us safely to our destination without any major drama but on the whole we simply didn't enjoy the experience, especially the friendliness of the cabin staff & wont be travelling with them again - not a patch on Thai Airways.

SYD-AUH-CAI return in Economy Class. Excellent service from flight attendents provided and the meals were type of meals I would have expected. There are two meals served on the night flight from SYD. Dinner is served first and shortly before landing in AUH Breakfast is served. The IFE was fantastic and a superb selection of movies and games. AUH airport is nice but very crowded. The flight to CAI departed without delays. The aircraft used was A320. The flight was very nice but there was no AVOD. There were only overhead screens. Food was okay. The return flight from CAI-AUH the same as AUH-CAI. The second flight from AUH-SYD was the same as the SYD-AUH flight except that they used the A340-500. Over all a very good experience with Etihad Airways.

LHR-AUH-BKK return in business class. The new lounge and terminal in AUH is a huge improvement. Flat beds in Business are the best, the role of the f&b manager works very well and the service is personal. We had a slight issue with being asked to move seats on 2 flights but they did compensate us with a generous amount of airmiles.

LHR-AUH-Kathmandu Economy. Overall a pleasant experience, but let down by very strange service! Outward leg departs LHR at 21.40 so one would presume swift service of food and drinks then lights out! Crew serve special meals first, then begin drinks service for half the cabin, then food service for the other half. As a result service is lengthy when for a night flight most people want to sleep. This style of service was applicable to all legs of the journey. The crew were attentive and friendly. A340 seemed new and comfortable. AVOD is the best.

SYD-AUH-LHR-AUH-SYD in Pearl Business Class. All flights were on A340-600 aircraft. Overall, far better than expected. Limo service was a superb extra, and was supplied even on my heavily discounted ticket. There was a booking problem with my return car transfers, but it was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the UK Etihad call-centre. The lie-flat seats are the best I have ever experienced in J-class. Window seats offer levels of privacy usually reserved for F- class. Food and wine were fantastic. Dine-on-demand service worked perfectly, and all menu items were of a very high standard, with efficient individual service. Some of the staff lacked the experience you'd find on carriers such as CX or SQ, but for the most part were very polite and friendly. Amenity kits were good, and on-board bathrooms were kept clean. QF lounge in Sydney was as good as ever, but the lounges in AUH and LHR are a different story. New EY lounge is far too small to accommodate passenger levels, and small touches such as Champagne / sparkling wine are not available. SK lounge at LHR is terrible. No food other than packets of cheese and chips, and poor drink selection. It would be fine for a short SK flight, but for long-haul intercontinental travel, it's pretty unacceptable. I would really encourage EY to pay for the services of a decent lounge at LHR, or perhaps even have one of their own. Other than that though, a fantastic experience. I've definitely found my new carrier-of-choice for flights to Europe.
