SSA-REC-MIA-EWR. Both flights on 757s. Bit of a difference in cabin, seating and crew between
the international and domestic flights. Newer looking cabin and better seats on the
international 757. Cabin crew friendly and pleasant from Salvador to Miami. Service efficient
and reasonably warm. Food and portions could have been better but catered out of Brazil,
seemed better than I have experienced from JFK. Crew not present after lunch service and
surfaced only about 90 minutes before landing. For a 7h 40 min sector, a couple of water and
drink runs in between would have been great. Entertainment, while on a newer ceiling mounted
screen could have been better as well, with more than just one movie for this length of flight
without any in seat screens or AVOD. Seat comfort was good, had a front exit seat tho very
cold, had great legroom to stretch. Arrival into MIA on time, made the connection fine.
Domestic to EWR upgraded to F on a 757 with a very outdated interior. Which I think might just
be standard. Bizarre late night inflight service consisting of drinks, warm nuts and a
solitary warm chocolate chip cookie. The cabin crew thought so too. Crew efficient but stern.
Arrival early into EWR. Bags took forever.

LAX-JFK-ZRH return. The outbound was delayed 5 hours due to two separate mechanical issues. We
literally turned around from the runway, after waiting 45 minutes to depart JFK. AA
compensated 5K miles, and a 10 dollar USD voucher for terminal food. Flight crew professional
and helpful and accepting of their employer's limitations. Interior of the economy cabin is
tatty. I'm not a big fan of IFE, but of course that would be welcome as well. Return flight
was on time, and crew pleasant and hard working. AA is the airline you take because of the low
fares and no-frills. It's safe and practical but nothing more. Business class looked cramped
and poorly designed. At least in economy one has the satisfaction that one has paid very
little for his/her inconvenience.

LAX-HNL-LAX. It was the first time I flew AA and I weas pretty disappointed. Coming from LHR I
connected in LAX to HNL. I had bought the ticket with BA on a codeshare with AA. The aircraft
was an old-looking B757, the aircraft didn't look too clean and flight crew were not extremely
friendly. The inflight entertainment was poor (no personal inflight entertainment for a 5.5
flight). Seat pitch was short (I'm 1,9 m. tall). Food and alcoholic drinks are not included on
the ticket price and the crew only accepts credit cards.

LHR-MIA-LPB-MIA-BOS-LHR. Once in the air lunch offered, tasty, alongside a soft drink,
alcohol paid for on board. IFE ok, limited movies. IFE broke 4 hours into the flight. Total
flight time 9 Hours. Transfer time at MIA 9 hours, American Airlines didn’t provide any
vouchers. Flight overbooked by 30 people. B757, so quite cramped and with a full flight
boarding it was chaotic. Cabin crew rude and were taking passengers bags, only to be told once
in the air that the bag would not be in La Paz, Bolivia until several days later due to
security screening. IFE was overhead screens, with no sound working in my emergency exit seat.
On return check in went smoothly, left La Paz on time for the 55 minute flight to Santa Cruz,
Bolivia. OJ was offered. Although one cabin crew member decided falling asleep in jump seat
was acceptable, only to be woken by fellow crew and then started to shout at passengers who
were asleep with seat in the reclined position. Santa Cruz - Miami, Crew change, alongside a
thorough security check. Flight time to Miami 7 hours, in which time a very small snack and
meal were served, three movies shown. A nice flight with polite crewn. Once landed at MIA,
found out flight to BOS delayed three hours, which meant that we would miss our BOS-LHR
flight. Promised plane would wait, which it didn’t. Although AA and BA lied to us at the gate
saying that both flights to LHR were overbooked that night. Once we reached BOS we were told
this was a lie and that we could have got on. Poor effort from AA. Once landed in Boston told
all rooms in Boston were fully booked, so given green camp beds and blankets from economy.
Everywhere we tried to set camp up told we were a security risk - there were 28 of us!
Rebooked onto the morning flight to LHR, which once we reached the gate was delayed for a
further 3 hours! Were given 15 dollars by AA for snacks over all the delays.

LHR-ORD-MCO and MCO-MIA-LHR. The flights I had were faultless, on-time or early and FA's
efficient and friendly. The internal flights in USA FA's were more efficient than anything
else but as Americans use their internal flights the same way as we in the UK use the bus they
have to be. Food on international flights good. IFE worked, movie selection was a bit
limited compared to BA. One tip for anyone booking flights is to check what type of aircraft
they use on the route then check their website to see what IFE is available. It saves being
disappointed when you get on and there is no IFE in your seat. In summary AA provide a very
good service for the price and while their aircraft are not the most modern, they do the job.

MIA-EZE and back. I cannot believe why people buy tickets at more than $5500 roundtrip.
Service was one of the worst I have experienced in Business Class in recent years. FA's were
fine but the food they serve is unbelievable. Portions ridiculously small and they were
certainly not what to expect on a business class meal. The seat - I do not know what AA
executives were thinking of when they installed them - they are very uncomfortable. The seat
is not completely flat, it is angled so you keep sliding downwards all the time, then when it
is fully reclined your feet are pretty much trapped under the previous seat and one of the
worst problems I have encountered with is that when you are assigned a window seat or the one
in the middle seat you have to literally jump, if you can, to reach the aisle, however most of
the times you end up waking up the person in the aisle seat. Another big issue that I found is
the terrible service at the lounges at both airports. I can accept that in Buenos Aires that
it is not a hub they serve only drinks and some things to eat but it is totally unacceptable
that in Miami they only serve you drinks and you can eat some cookies that are hidden in one
end of the lounge. To round up I was truly disappointed with these flights. American Airlines'
product is by far the most expensive for this route. The only thing that I can be happy about
is that we arrived at scheduled time and for my surprise there were no immigration lines when
we arrived at MIA, which is unbelievable.

On the AA internet site I bought an American Airlines trip Paris-JFK, with a connexion in
London. I was informed after having paid, that the first flight Paris London would be a
British Airways flight. We arrived almost two hours late in London. When we arrived at the
gate to get our connexion on the AA flight to NY (I was with about 20 other passengers to NY)
we were informed by the AA staff that we were too late for boarding and that our seats had
been given to other passengers. The staff said that AA was not responsible and that we had to
go and complain to the British Airways Office (located in another terminal), and that we would
be treated as stand by passengers on the two next AA flights to NY. They told us we had very
little chance to board because it was Friday afternoon and the planes were full. So I did not
get on a flight, and eventually it was by then almost ten o clock, I was sent to British
Airways office who eventually gave me a voucher for a hotel and booked me a flight to NY for
the day after (evening). So it caused me to arrive one day and a half late in NY and much
stress and tiredness, with absolutely no explanation or excuses from either company, even
though I bought my ticket from AA.

MAN-ORD-MCO return with American. The ground staff at MAN welcomed us to American Airline's
"Flagship Service" to Chicago, so expectations were heightened - only to be dashed onboard by
a seriously tired and dirty cabin on the 767-300. It was like going back in time! Seats very
uncomfortable - however reasonable leg room. Entertainment terrible - no personal seatback
screen. Larger screens throughout cabin, as first seen in 1982 or so. Service OK, nothing
amazing - outbound crew better than inbound. To call this "Flagship Service" is a little
misguided when compared to Virgin, BA, Qantas and Cathay Pacific, all of which I have used
recently. Any alcoholic drink was not complimentary, even with the meal. Internal flights were
functional and not much different to the international flight standard. All in all, American
had more of a feel of a very poor budget airline than a national carrier - well below
expectations.

MIA to LAX for $300. Flight on older 767 to LAX, but plane seemed clean and crew nice. They
offer Boston Market sandwich on this flight ($10 ripoff, but at least it's food). No in seat
entertainment on this plane, but I managed with old-fashioned reading. LAX to MIA, flight was
oversold, on a newer 777 with IFE, and it offered more choices than anticipated. The crew
wasn't great (it took a while to respond to my call), but were adequate. Lastly, my luggage
was misplaced by another carousel, but soon found. I had a couple of minor issues with AA, but
they deserve their fair rating and I would not worry about flying with them.

MAN-ORD economy return mid-June. Flights uneventful and punctual, but everything else was poor
- maybe that's all you can expect when AA only get £100 for 7000 miles. Our last experience
of AA was quite favourable - when some seats had been removed and seat pitch increased. AA
have let things slide since then. In particular the food was barely edible, air quality
dreadful and inflight entertainment a waste of space. The 767-300 must be one of Boeing's
poorer designs and AA's drab decor does little to relieve the cramped feeling in the cabin. We
fly transatlantic once per year and each year notice a further deterioration in standards,
regardless of carrier.

Cabin Flown: | Business |
JFK-LHR Business. Very swift check-in and almost no queues at security. Admirals Club crowded,
and you get two complimentary drink tokens (with associated cultural expectation to tip the
barman) and after that you have to pay steeply for anything else. New business class cabin
looked good but the devil is in the detail. When the seat is fully reclined, you slide under
the shell in the seat in front at least up to your knees, so turning around or getting up is
impossible without partially raising your seat. Getting out into the aisle from a window seat
is extremely difficult, as in most of the reclined positions the chair is actually quite high
off the floor, and with the other passenger's legs tucked well under the shell seat in front,
there is little they can do to let you out other than get up themselves. Departure was on
time, with dinner orders taken before the doors were closed, with a surprisingly good quality
menu. I was amazed how quickly and efficiently dinner was served, with no apparent rush to
finish by the crew and get on their breaks. I skipped breakfast, but it looked to be a light
continental affair. Not great new seats but surprisingly good service from the crew.
