Paris CDG Airport

My wife and I were booked on a long haul to Sydney flying from CDG terminal 1 with Singapore Airlines. After reading many negative reviews of this airport we were not looking forward to it. However we were very pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. Check-in was a breeze allowing people who have checked in online to proceed straight to a bag drop counter. This worked very well unlike Sydney where it doesn't seem to be of any advantage to check-in online. All staff we encountered were smiling and pleasant and spoke English if required. Passport control and security were thorough polite and no slower than any other airport I have encountered. The shopping area has everything required and is reasonably calm and pleasant again unlike Sydney which is like a noisy Westfield shopping centre. We found the departure gates calming well organised with spotlessly clean toilets. Can't speak for the other terminals but I would be happy to use Terminal 1 at CDG again.

For me it's definitely one of the most efficient airport in Europe. Each time I've been through (5 or 6 times) everything was smooth and fast.

This is definitely the worst airport I ever travelled through. I was transferring from a flight coming from the Middle East and going to Cincinnati (USA). The worst part of my experience there is the lack of English speakers. The passport control person kept talking to me in French and I was talking in English: He did not seem to understand a word and I do not know any French. It was a relief when I got aboard Delta Airlines.

MAN-CDG-IST return. Transferring to another flight with this airport is supposed to be very hard but for once it was not. Maybe that was because we only had to walk from Terminal 2E to 2F which was a quick 10 minute walk. Overall I thought this airport was amazing plenty of cafe's bars and shops to look at. One problem I do have with this airport is that the staff hardly speak any English which I was surprised with! I will definitely travell via this airport again!

This has got to be the worlds worst airport. What is wrong with putting up a sign or two. Or even one of those TV screens that updates and displays departure gates and flight details. If the only way to find information is to ask a member of staff where are they all? When we finally did speak to someone it was as if I was trying to borrow money! If there is a way to route through another airport do it and avoid the hassle of CDG.

One of the worst airports I've experienced - and I travel extensively. Transferring from an inbound flight from Asia to an outbound flight to London I had to sprint at top speed to make the bus train and the long run. In my case I did actually find staff quite patient and somewhat helpful. The food situation is appalling. The coffee? You'd be better off bringing a packet of instant coffee to mix with tap water - at least you won't be over charged for it! The duty free shopping is lacking though I did find the sales persons very sweet. Maybe they took pity on me as I was so rushed and flustered!

If this airport is horrible by itself for parents travelling with babies or children it is a nightmare. I have to say that I always try to avoid travelling through Paris because every time I have been there either the flight is delayed or I have a bad experience with the staff. I have a baby and was travelling alone the airport policy doesn't allow to take your own stroller. The 3 strollers available at the airport are a joke. Adding this to the already long distances to change terminal confusing airport layout lack of signage and bad attitude from the staff to assist travellers makes this airport a 'one star'.

Had a connecting flight at Terminal 2E to LHR from a flight from Mauritius (13/04/12). Flight to LHR was delayed for over 2 hrs so we decided to find somewhere to sit down and have a meal. The largest restaurant was closed this was at 10.00. We ended up at the MiYou where we were severed freshly made sandwiches made of stale bread and coffee which was like water. Avoid the produce is terrible and the cost is over €18.

Flying from CDG into UK from Terminal 2B. Can forgive the size of the terminal as this is normal for most city airports. The landslide section was dirty lots of homeless people about using the very limited facilities police and security not bothered in the slightest by this. Only positive is the prices are cheaper than in Paris for drinks and food. Going airside is probably even worse. Rude passport control staff. Even ruder staff at the cafe even with attempted French. Very poor shopping facilities/eating once past passport checks seating comfortable but nothing like other airports and fills up very quickly. Going past security at the gate (bag checks etc) was a nightmare. Once past this point there are no facilities at all no toilets nothing. Only positive was that there is a phone charging station. Worst airport I have ever experienced.

Transiting HNK-CDG-LHR. Poor service very slow queues everything repeated over and over again by different staff extending the time. Staff did not care if we missed our connect flight. We have transited in nearly all European capital airports and this is the worst. Avoid this airport at all costs.
